Seriously? A great troll is one who finally get put on ignore by everyone? Hell, I could make a new account and probably achieve that in about 5 seconds flat. It took him months of trolling.

I think he is here for some time and we still discuss this guy - his techniques are excellent, he is much smarter than the low-paid trolls and shills and basically knows what he is talking about. I detest trolling, but his methods and techniques are really brilliant.

Yeah that dump was insane! Mezmerized that this thread wasn't glowing already minutes after it happened. Well, I really don't know what to make of the auction, to be honest... It may be a very good opportunity for Draper to lower his average price per Bitcoin, sure. But I also bet he's kinda bummed having payed that much more back in Summer (probably).
I might be dumbing this a bit too much down for myself, but I am just happy somebody wants to buy a huge amount of coins around the current price, rather than short Bitcoin to oblivion. If this is Tim Draper, so be it. But I wouldn't mind if someone new came in heavy and wanted to protect their investments by slaying future bearwhales. I was mainly speculating that he could lower his average price by buying some Bitcoin at the current market prices - no need to even short anything or push the price down But it totally depends on what he intends to do with the coins. It's his plan, after all!

I detest trolling, but his methods and techniques are really brilliant. I assertively disaccord. His contretemps fail to presume the prolific physis of a bitcoiner. His literature fails to seize the psychology of his target audience. A successful troll also must have a variety of pictures & sketches and not a cheap chinese pool of crappy drawings. The net is full of them. He's poorly performing his task and thus became himself personae non gratae. We've had much more brilliant trollers in the -not so distant- past. I'm sorry, but I'll pass...

"Dollar averaging" is not a rational thing to do, it is only a psychological pacifier, right?
If one bought 100 coins at 800$, buying 100 more at 400$ does not compensate or alleviate the loss of the first buy. It only mixes a vexing mistake with a minor mistake to make a double dose of a medium-strength mistake. The loss from the first buy is still there. Right?

Yeah if it keeps dropping you will just lose more money.. If it goes back up you want to find the point where you break even and start divesting if it hits there and pull your fresh fiat back out. I think

Wrong. If you bought 100 coins at $800, you should buy 200 coins at $400. And if it drops further to $200, you should buy an additional 400 coins. Duh.
