Project Update:

Friendly reminder that the Helium Bounty campaign has begun and can be found at the link below:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2104006.0

And coming soon, The Masternode Challenge:

Once the Helium network launches next month in September, there will be a Masternode Challenge campaign kicking off. The amount of coins required to set-up a Helium masternode is 1000 HLM. The Masternode Challenge will be open an campaign to anyone to compete in and earn a full Helium Masternode worth of HLM  = 1000 coins.

The details of the Masternode Challenge will be released closer to the launch of the network and will be updated on the new HeliumPay.com website (coming soon).

Can we have more then one masternode per IP address? Thanks

I wouldn't think so. That would go against the whole decentralised masternode network. If you have 5 masternode, you should aim to run one in each continent (or at least 5 different countries) to provide better access and security. There is no point to run all 5 in one datacentre in your country.

I'm with you on that. Just wanted to know since a couple of other coins at one point let you have more then one masternode on one ip address. Thanks again

Please see the OP for details on how to join slack.

Once in slack, please join #budgetproposals as the new website is being prepared and contributions on how you want your network to run and distribute funding will be greatly appreciated.

(do not respond to any slackbots in direct messages as all slack sites in general are being regularly targeted by ETH scammers)

These types of questions have been asked in our Slack channel - there are nearly 800 people in Slack, you'll be surprised at the amount of community support you'll get and answers to commonly asked questions.

So from what I understand, the fork from Spreadcoin still hasn't happened? So if we buy Spreadcoin from Bittrex, we may need to send it to a wallet or we may be able to keep it on Bittrex and we will receive 1:1 Helium coin?

I've looked through this thread and I can only get pieces of whats happening. Can someone clarify, please? Will it be a Spreacoin split or an ICO?

Yes, you are right..... In order to get HLM after the snapshot, you will need to buy SPR on Bittrex and hold it during the snapshot.
There is no ICO, everyone who has SPR during the snapshot is eligible for equal amount of HLM. You will end up with SPR and HLM, it is not really a swap...

Thanks mate, might buy 1000 to lock in a masternode on each coin!

We have only over a week to anticipate the airdrop of HLM to spr holders. I was a month advance to be able to accumulate because of postponement but now it will happen. Hope market is aggressive on HeliumPay. It is another profitable platform to watch for.

What about bittrex and snapshot?Or do we need to download spreadcoin wallet and have coins there?

There is still no news and the snapshot date is approaching. I am sure the team will give us plenty of notice about the participation of Bittrex one way or another... But to be honest, I have already downloaded the SPR wallet and synced a few days ago, just in case Bittrex won't help us.

I see this question popping up over and over again in every MN topic and it angers me.

The more these networks are decentralized the stronger they get and the very fact that these tokens are worth something is because the networks are decentralized.

If you buy into HLM now you'll spend 3000$ for 2 MN's and I can promise you it will earn you more than the 5$ a month you'd be saving by placing 2 nodes on 1 VPS...................

They are in an NDA with Bittrex at the moment (Mentioned in Slack)
So they aren't actually allowed to say. Though that would seem to imply that Bittrex is supported

From my point of view there should be 2 options (one does not forbid the other). An exchange (Bittrex) and a  wallet that supports both coins (a wallet that supports snapsotted SPR adresses, and generates HLM adresses and requests from MNs or a master account to deposit with the appropriate HLM balance ).

Bounty campaign is open!

Still making a few tweaks to design/layout

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2104006.0

Hello, I want to know if you can still buy 1000 spread coins to receive 1000 HLM?

Hello teosanru, yes there is still time. The snapshot has not yet been taken so you can buy your spr and transfer to your local spr wallet to ensure you will get the same amount in HLM upon launch.

Is there a whitepaper? Will Helium replace SPR or will both chains be supported?

Hi Chocobo, you can view the whitepaper on heliumpay.com under the Whitepaper header by clicking the link.

Helium is not replacing spr - both chains will exist independently and spr will continue on as its own project.

I can keep the SPR on bittrex or keep them on where

A bit of advice - just to be on the safe side its always best to keep your coins off exchanges unless you're using them for trading either in your desktop wallet or in cold storage Wink

Any news on the snapshot date? I've only read September somewhere in this thread and in the bounty campaign thread, that the end date of the campaign is September 30th. Has an exact date been set yet?

This looks like a promising project and especially the ideas/thoughts behind it. Though it would have been good to see few of the details mentioned in black and white but then I guess its too early to press the trigger. I would rather wait and see how all of this unfolds.

Meanwhile please keep us posted and all the best for your project. Will keep a close watch on this thread for sure.

Have a good one.

There's a good chance many people will dump their SPR right after the HLM snapshot, so dumpers will need to be quick off the mark. It's therefore going to be exciting to see whether price continues to climb towards the end of month (snapshot), or if people will dump a couple days before to ensure a nice profit (but forfeiting their HLM claim). Hodling both can of course be worthwhile too. There are many ways to play this game. Nonetheless, I am excited to run a master node for the first time.  Cool

I sure hope Bittrex allows us to claim while keeping Spread there. The windows spread coin wallet isn't stable enough to entrust 1000 spread on it. I might keep my spread after and run some masternodes on there too, but I do not like the competitive cap for masternodes they have. The price to run a masternode will skyrocket well past 1k if the coin is successful. Dash has 4500 masternodes and Spread is capped at the 1,000 masternodes who have the most collateral. I don't think Helium should go the same direction.
