I'm not sure if it really is a false positive, but I think all of you have already forgotten that I was the one that submitted the false positive report to ESET. After they cleared it, it was my first time installing TorCoin. For some reason you keep calling me a FUDDER but I was initially trying to help TorCoin.
How can you not be sure when ESET has researched on the subject Who called you a FUDDER? I'm not sure because I did not test to see if it generates the files that CoinStealer generates. I have faith that it's clean because I trust ESET but I'm not sure because I did not look to see for myself. TheTorCoin keeps calling me a FUDDER, even though he admitted to exactly what I was saying. TorCoin client does not connect to Tor. It's a fact. https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/torI'v also submitted a false positive to Avira, they replied they'll test it out in their lab I'm positive with trusting ESET and Bitdefender

Than show us that proof and I am happy to believe you, but as it looks now it just looks like you are an FUDDER.

For now, it's just the linux version. We have active devs working to create a switch that will enable users to turn Tor on/off when using the Windows and MacOS wallets, which enables them to comply with laws in their country or bypass Tor blockages (ie, in China) Windows and MacOS are a nightmare for compatibility and development, as anyone in the industry knows. Getting them to integrate with TOR has not been easy, but it's under active development, along with an Android wallet. The linux version does indeed create a Tor node, despite the FUD >> https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/tor

Than show us that proof and I am happy to believe you, but as it looks now it just looks like you are an FUDDER. I have already posted hard proof. I ran packet captures on the windows client. TorCoin DOES NOT USE THE TOR NETWORK. Here is my original post about this:I'm a certified Network Engineer with a little over 10 years experience. Most recently I worked for a very large ISP in their core engineering department. I'm also kind of a nerd, so in my free time I like to investigate how things work, especially if they are network related. I have experience with Tor and anonymous distributions like Tails. My primary interest at this point is to find out how secure TorCoin really is. If you are familiar with anonymity, then you should be aware that leaking network data on the clear net (the regular internet) is a big concern. Leaking any data related to you or the app you're trying to conceal will give you away. To test, I configured a Windows 10 Virtual Machine and setup Wireshark. After installing and launching TorCoin, I performed a series of packet captures. For the sake of being brief, I discovered that most of the claims made by TorCoin are false. TorCoin does NOT integrate with The Tor Network. It does NOT keep your usage private. Here are just a couple things that I found! * Clear public NON-Tor DNS traffic asking for http://seed.torcoincoin.com * Clear public IRC traffic to irc.lfnet.org and irc.smutfairy.com * Does NOT connect to The Tor Network! * Does NOT keep your use of the coin anonymous! * Nodes do NOT help The Tor Network. Here is a screenshot of the IRC traffic: You can download the Wireshark packet captures here so that you can see for yourself: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/48nhs90ia6rosop/AACTChe_153XeFptUUGtSRsGa?dl=0 BitCoinTalk member TheTorCoin makes these FALSE claims on his thread: "Torcoin is a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin featuring numerous improvements and innovations, such as full integration with the TOR network, stealth sending technology, and complete anonymity." "There is never any need to 'mix' or 'anonymize' your TorCoins - they are anonymous by default. TOR is fully integrated with TorCoin, which means that a snoop or attacker watching your internet connection will not know if you are using TorCoin - and other TorCoin users cannot determine the physical location of your Torcoin node." "Completely Untraceable. No one will ever know you are running a TorCoin node - your real IP is never broadcast to the network because TorCoin runs over Tor." TorCoin communicates with other nodes over the regular internet. Your IP address can be seen by everyone! I was able to do a reverse lookup on a node and found a user on Comcast. His claims are misleading at best. I personally feel the creator of this coin has done this intentionally. It is my educated opinion that you avoid this cryptocurrency.

That's a Linux client that no one is using. 99.9% of people are not connected to Tor because the primary client does not support Tor. Go read the first page. It says TorCoin is fully integrated with Tor. It's deceptive.

I'm a novice and definitely not a networking expert, but there are several items I'm curious about. Does it start a Tor network node?(relay or exit) Does the Torcoin wallet connect to other Torcoin nodes through the Tor network? Do stealth addresses work? Does the wallet need to be staking(have a coin balance) for any of these features to work? I'm sure any insight would be appreciated by all, Thank You

Good to see things have been cleared up. It is always a great thing when people can talk it out and all that. Excited for the capability of the Windows/Mac client to run through TOR. That will be a game changer for sure. I give them time and in the mean time will help spread the word

There are no sell orders listed for TORcoin on the exchange you listed? Only a few buy orders that are severely under market price LOL! Cryptopia should definitely bump up the price of TOR, however the sig campaign will probably dispense a few thousand TORcoins, which will keep the price low.

Cryptopia should definitely bump up the price of TOR, however the sig campaign will probably dispense a few thousand TORcoins, which will keep the price low. No, the sig campaign doesn't dispense that much TOR - maybe a couple hundred TOR per week BUT .. I do need to re-think my bounty strategy for marketing, ESPECIALLY on this forum. The reality is, very very few people from this forum actually invest in any cryptos. Checking analytics, my traffic from bitcointalk is 1.2% of my total traffic to TorCoin.org. Most investors come from clicking ads on NewsBTC or coinmarketcap or some other big site that I'm running ads on. Almost no one comes to the site from Bitcointalk. Therefore, I might be wasting time and TOR by offering a sig campaign here. If paying TOR bounties to bitcointalk users results in people SELLING TOR but nobody BUYING TOR then I am having a negative impact on price by offering bounties here - in which case I will soon STOP offering bounties here. I want BUYERS for TorCoin, NOT sellers. So I will be re-thinking my strategy on paying any bounties at all in TOR. I am already paying devs in BTC so that they don't accumulate TOR to dump on the market. I may switch to paying ALL bounties in BTC, so that fewer TOR end up on the open market. Also just FYI, based on traffic analytics and other factors, I do not believe the FUD on the forum here has any effect whatsoever on TOR price, so it is easily ignored. This should be a good week for TorCoin, especially once we get listed on Cryptopia!

Cryptopia should definitely bump up the price of TOR, however the sig campaign will probably dispense a few thousand TORcoins, which will keep the price low. Based on the success of the sig campaign thus far - which is to say, zero success - I'll probably discontinue it soon. If all I'm doing is paying out TOR, which ends up being SOLD, and not generating buyers, it will keep the price down. Thus far no good traffic comes from this forum - it all comes from ads on news blogs, coinmarketcap, newsbtc and google organic search traffic. It seems as though the price is being kept low by me paying out too many bounties in TOR - so I will start paying only in BTC soon. I believe the actual VALUE of TorCoin to be around $3-$5 right now.

So yesterday there was an unprecedented FUSS about the wallet having a coinstealer virus and what dev has to say? Nothing, absolutely nothing. He pretends the discussion never took place. In case you missed it, here's a virus total analysis I did one minute ago, after downloading the file and uploading to virus total: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/d2efdd54f98bd45c7dc572ad84b071ccfdf20b9f25757ff052b96721d5e1e1d2/analysis/1495084645/Don't take my word for granted do it again yourself if you think I am fudding. Just download the zip (don't open it!!!) and upload it on virus total. You will get the same results. So let's make a summary of torcoin as of today:
Huge premine, that dev doesn't want to put in escrow? Check Huge, possibly artificially pumped initial price (about 10 $) from minute 1 the coin came out? Check Windows and Mac Wallet don't use the tor network, let alone run a tor nod which is the whole breakthrough of this coin? Check Virustotal says the coin has a coin stealer? Check Copyright issues, e.g. stolen logo and name? Check The official tor guys have denounced the coin? Check Shady dev that just cries "FUD" (or totally avoids) to respond to them when encountered with facts? Check Will I be here when this shitcoin reaches 1 satoshi to tell everybody "told ya"? Check
