There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

They are based in London. No need to answer the SEC

They do for US persons.

Idk guys, I successfully bought PPT with 500 ETH at various nearby price levels, but I see that the big buy order that was there for 3700 ETH has dissapeared, this is not good news.

And now this SEC news, I am getting freaked out a little bit. Maybe I invested too much in PPT but i don't know whether I should sell now or not and enter at a lower price.

I think this SEC question could be a bit of a problem for all tokens, although I am not a US person, many people here could be, so the price could crash.

Maybe I am just a bit too scared since I invested too much, but it would be nice if the dev team would clarify this.  Huh Huh

Besides, the code was only for the token sale, which I don't think is valid now.

Nevertheless it is prudent that Populous have good audit on every code written, to make sure everything is 100% safe and secure.

Hahaha you must be very naive to think that. Just ask Kim Dotcom or Julian Assange....  Cheesy Cheesy

Every US person is under US jurisdiction, and I bet most people on this thread are from the USA.

It is illegal for USA citizens to buy this PPT token, but everyone was ignoring this until now.

Brace yourself the SEC is coming for this coin now , as for any other unregistered security!

This project is screwed   Cheesy

You must be a special kind of idiot. What kind of fool buys 500 ETH worth of this crap token?

This project is over, this SEC ruling has decimated all crappy ETH ICO tokens, it's over , accept it.

Good luck selling "invoices" without a money transmitter or securities license, this project will be shut down faster than LibertyReserve  Cheesy

I've heard about this SEC ruling news too, I wonder how will this effect PPT. I really want this coing to go to 0.1 ETH, so I hope it will not have any negative impact on it.

Its not like blockchain technology can only be used in America. In fact most ICO's didn't sell to Americans in the first place. Probably populous didn't do that too but I havent checked.  So calm down.

For those who lack reading and basic research skills:
1. PPT tokens do not grant holders any voting rights
2. PPT tokens do not grant holders any share of Populous corporate profits.
3. Even if they were shares, owning shares of foreign corporations is not illegal for US persons.
4. The ICO is over. Too late now.
5. The company is based in the UK. This doesn't make them immune but it would take way too much effort to do anything. PPT does not know who owns its tokens.

ROFL, I saw this coming, big money tried to buy and did get nothing, instead buying for market price to get some what be normal, now some
get paid some 100-1000$ to do SCAM and FUD to get the price down. Could save them several 100.000 USD.
Also  this SEC thing could hurt PPT price, now the news it out, and ... nothing  Cool

i would even thing UK market place got additional strenght because of SEC, old Europe its time you get your power back

Now with Alpha Test and some great news coming this buy opportunity for 0.01 fades away..

Update: Removed my trading position sell at 0.02 it looks like there will be not much sell pressure. Will have a look later to decide e´when the order books show more information

PPT is looking good today. Slowly moving upwards. I think this will be the case the next few weeks. Let's see where this ends. Like I sad before. I don't like pumped coins. They always come down just as hard. This is a good one.

PPT is looking much more good everyday than last day since it is opened for trading. It saw some temporary decline of value which it recovering easy by easy. PPT is offering great opportunity to its investors to get good ROI even from here at current prices. I have big expectations from this project.

There was no ruling from SEC.

They talked aboat a spsific project, "The DAO", and said;

[The United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“Commission”) Division of Enforcement (“Division”) has investigated whether The DAO, an unincorporated organization; Slock.it UG (“Slock.it”), a German corporation; Slock.it’s co-founders; and intermediaries may have violated the federal securities laws. The Commission has determined not to pursue an
enforcement action
in this matter based on the conduct and activities known to the Commission at this time.]

PPT is doing great, trading at 0.01232 PPT/ETH at EtherDelta. ICO price was 0.0011, so
UP 1020%

Also, there is something called Ex Post facto. If a new law is applied, breaking that new law is not illegal if it was done before the new law came into action. So it doesn't matter to Populous if the SEC wants to be an ass at a later time.

All you FUDsters, the crypto economy is booming. There is money to be made all over. If you spend your time spreading FUD instead of taking part in a positive way, you will only lose out. I realize most of you are hired by someone, at least invest some of your salary in this revolution so you can retire early.

Not that I am arguing against snubbing your nose at the SEC, but what new law?  There is no new law.  The SEC isn't a legislative body.  This is a government commission making a statement so the Ex Post Facto doesn't apply.
