But you are raising an important point here. The millions that come after the first few hundred are not that significant anymore, but seriously what would Mbappe do if they offer him a billion for two years? And if you think about it Mbappe would be a huge deal for them, even bigger than Messi and Ronaldo because Mbappe is so young and has all these World Cups to play and a growing following as well. That would be a deal which guarantees a growing audience for a very long time. Since you mentioned this now, would you be totally shocked when in a few weeks from now there is a rumor that Mbappe was offered 1.5 billion for 3 years? As you said, I would also like to see it and then see how he reacts.

I just saw the news that Messi has signed with Inter Miami (Beckham's team).
As a fan and a supporter, I am sad for having practically ended the chances of seeing Messi play another Champions League with Barcelona, and with a strong team, to have a chance of winning the title, since Barcelona is already good, and will get reinforcements for next season.

The move came as a big blow to Barca fans. I don't know what they are expecting from a 35 years old man... To still carry them on his shoulders? Nah... Not possible, they should look somewhere else. I'm glad he didn't make the mistake because it would have been a dumb choice.

In my opinion it doesn't make any sense to go to Saudi Arabia, Messi has already seen what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo and doesn't want to have the same experience.
The USA is a country that Messi already knows well, he has a house there in Miami, he has a lifestyle similar to the one he has in France and had in Spain. Besides the fact that the USA is closer to Argentina.

I knew Inter-Miami had interest in signing Messi but I never thought he would consider the switch. I was hoping to see him sign for Al Hilal and also re-ignite his rivalry with Cristian Ronaldo but that's not going to happen any more. When you talk about MLS, Inter Miami is one of the least club that would come into your mind. I don't really know why he made the move, maybe they offered more money than Al Hilal because it doesn't make sense why he would sign for a club that finished bottom in the league.

Besides this, we must also consider the fact that the next World Cup will be in the United States in only 3 years, and the Copa America will also be there in 2024.

Its really wierd how badly Saudi Arabia wants their league to become so popular. They are wasting too many millions on many players and dont care how much they the players ask. If Kante gets a contract from Chelsea he would probobly stay but if no top clubs offer him a deal he will probobly go to saudi arabia.

They are rich and they have no problem spending huge money on the sports business. Their purpose isn't only to make their league to be more popular, they also try to strengthen their squad to compete for the title. Although they spend too much money, I don't think it will be a serious problem as long as it doesn't break the rules. The top players who move to Saudi Pro League aren't in 1 club, they move to some different clubs. So, I think it doesn't break the rules of player transfers.

Regarding Kante, I think he is better to move to Saudi if Chelsea future seems unconvincing. It is no longer a strong team as he ever played before, Chelsea decreased so much their performance this season. After Abramovich left the club, Chelsea condition became worse. Kante deserves to play in a better team, he gets a better salary in Saudi at least.

Going to Barcelona would have not been a dumb move. Messi has nothing to prove anymore, so him going to Barcelona would have been the same thing as going to Inter Miami, only difference is the American team offered a better contract.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying going to Inter Miami is a bad move, I'm only saying a move to Barcelona would not have been a bad move too.
I'm happy for him for Messi as a fan, but its going to be a hard pill to swallow that the era of Messi and Ronaldo has truly come to an end. We knew this day would come but we never thought it would be like this.

There oli money doesn't affect the main sport because they can't attract younger players and they're not competing in any top European league so their oil money is only been used as a retirement pension for player that are done playing football. I'm really glad that it doesn't affect it badly. Otherwise I can't even imagine how bad football would be. The Champions League and so on all would have no meaning for us without young stars. Of course this kind of young players can join such team if they want but why would they? Saudi Arabia league is just like the MLS in terms of one feature especially.

No one plays for passion anymore! Karim Benzema's deal is already sealed and announced, I came across photos of him holding the new club's shirt. The next player targeted is Ngolo Kante and Luka Modric. Obviously this tells that the aim of bringing top and world class players to the league is gradually been achieved because it seems the league is already gaining recognition around the world as more star players are moving there.

Why did Messi pick Inter Maimi over Barcelona. Why? American clubs is a place where players go to retire to end their career and be either a coach or a football pundit like Thierry Henry. The only player I know who moved there and moved out successfully to the Italian league is Ibrahimovic who just retired from football. He's getting a better deal in Saudi Arabia, his contract renewal is uncertain here, and the squad isn't as competitive as it once was after it was sold to another person.  I'm not sure, maybe they just lost their desire to play after getting a new owner and a new manager. But, whatever the case, their performance is appalling. I fully support Kante departing to join Saudi Arabia; he is not yet assured a place under the new manager; otherwise, they would have negotiated a new contract for him.

in my opinion messi chose to go play in the US and not in saudi arabia due to culture and laws, he will have a good contract in the us and will be away from the press, we all know that all famous players who went to play in the us ended their fame the moment they set foot in the us, that's because in the us the teams are not after fame, they want results on the field, while in saudi arabia messi would have to continue being a poster boy because the arabs are interested in the fame of messi, that is messi he would not rest in saudi arabia, soon a failure of him, he would be condemned by the fans

Many things must have happened that are not known to the public why Messi finally decided to Inter Miami, of course not the ideal club for a player like Messi because Inter Miami is only a team ranked at the bottom, maybe many regretted why he didn't choose Al Hilal who would make his career it's still in the news because the current SPL is like a rising star, I suspect the cultural factor from an Arab country that might be difficult for the Messi family to adapt to and we won't know for sure but the decision has been made and what's circulating are only speculation and rumors.

Yeah, since PSG was making it first and then some transfers by big clubs were triggering any clubs to put 100 millions as common price for their players. Even small clubs were also trying to do the same thing like the big club as well. The small club will put high price when there was a player being targeted by the big club.
Middle easy clubs were actually offering non sense amounts of contract. It's even bigger compared with the release clause in EU team.

It is very surprising news for me to hear that Messi is about to sign for Inter Miami. A month from now he is going to be a player for them officially. All things have happened really quickly honestly and I wasn't expecting him to make a quick decision on his future. Because as I said every time he was prioritizing to return to Barcelona and Xavi stated how eager he was to see him there again as well.

While there were positive developments in air about that I suddenly heard about this deal. I mean Messi didn't even choose Saudi Arabia for a huge deal of money despite being okay to Europe obviously. I don't know how much he will make now but I thought MLS would be his last choice in the near future.
