even if difficulty were currently DOUBLE what it is now
You do realize that difficulty is likely to be at least 5x what it is now by late this year don't you?

I'm interested in 2 at face value here, if anyone wants to back out or isn't able to meet their obligations.

You also said you did not mind paying more in fees, since it was a insignificance amount to you.

It was stated in the posting by friedat they would not be taking orders for 15-20 more days.    I always expected to now see my unit till June most likely, or end of May if very lucky.  This is why I thought it important to trim the costs since there was no way to get it faster

...

Where?  I missed it.  If you can find that statement, I stand corrected and retract most of my complaints.

Note that 'taking orders' is not nearly the same thing as 'shipping'.  Obviously shipping cannot happen until the items are done.  But I do expect a pipeline process where orders are shipped simultaneously with pieces being produced.  IOW, it would make little sense to get a batch of 10,000 built and tested, and only then start taking orders and shipping.

.....

Oh guys, relax.  Undecided

Friedcat is trying to get the chips on his hands before he will start the ordering process, and I have PM'ed him early to reserve a top spot for 429 USB's. If he decides to run this via a fixed-price auction (like the recent blade auction), I am confident enough to grab a top spot too seeing that I am running the auction. Friedcat ships within a day after the coins are received from my previous experience with him.

He has given his word here (Its lead-time is conservatively 15-20 days), and I fully expect him to go within his timeframe.

Seriously.  Especially since the terms were all spelled out very well when the GB started.

The longer the community puts up with scammy bullshit, the longer it will be before Bitcoin is a solution which can be relied upon to accomplish real things.

This USB device is an unimportant novelty trinket for me.  A vastly more important facet of this effort is finding out who can be relied on for complex projects.

I am unimpressed and disappointed if John K's role as an operator of Friedcat's auction factors in any way into better or worse results for Arklan's group-buy (and by extension, the future of my funds.)  It would on it's face seem more ethical if John K had turned down work on one of the two projects.

Just sayin'...and I rarely hold my tongue about such things Wink

If anyone has shown that they deliver it is ASICMiner.  They aren't "scammy" at all.

You can get your refund and be done with it.  The rest of us will get our cool novelties.  I mean, none of us are planning to seriously mine with these things, so waiting isn't a big deal.

I now know who to turn to for long range clairvoyance skills.  What is your rate?

Well, my point is, that for the price, and only getting 300Mh from it, this is more just a cool thing to have, and I plan to use it to demo mining to people who have shown a passing interest in bitcoin.  It's not like I can carry my current rig around to show people.  This I can just pop into a laptop and show people.

I'm currently averaging about 2.4Gh with my 7970s.  And that is watercooled, LOUD, and uses a lot of power.  Awaiting my ASICs (BFL Sad ) - looking forward to less power usage and higher rates. Smiley  Whenever I get them.

Some people may be planning on mining seriously with these USB erupters, but with difficulty increasing, this will not be the best investment for people to mine with.  That's just being realistic.  I mean, you'll still get a ROI eventually, but that's not why most of us are buying it I'd guess.  Maybe I'm wrong.  Huh

I'm interested in 2 at face value here, if anyone wants to back out or isn't able to meet their obligations.

M

Arklan/John

Mdude77 says that he is interested in my 7 units.  Could you please confirm with him that if I put my receiving address out here and he puts his sending address, that even if I dispute receiving the funds, that you will still be able to see that he sent them and change where the units are shipped too (for a small fee of course)?

If he is absolutely against such a solution, John would you be able to escrow this service.  He sends funds to address, Arklan switches shipping info, funds released to me. (assuming he will pay escrow fees since he doesnt like my first escrowless option)

Quote
I'm mostly with ya, but am pissed and disappointed that ~friedcat does not seem to be reliable and proficient as a counterpart.
This seems off-base, given friedcat and ASICMINER's history to-date.  They are the only Bitcoin company who are actively mining and shipping meaningful quantities of ASICs.  In the three previous Blade auctions, the blades were shipped within a day or two of payment.  Heck, one guy got his overnight.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is anxious, a lot of us have been burned by BFL/bASIC/Avalon, and the golden rule is "Trust No One."  That said, I don't see how anyone could look at ASICMINER's performance and call shenanigans.
