Am intently following Terrahash details, and am wondering if fluctuations in BTC/USD will potentially affect the announced prices for Terrahash's products? Seeing the price dip a bit over the last week made me wonder...

From the FAQ, http://terrahash.com/faq/:

Q. Which payment methods do you accept?

A. We accept only Bitcoins. Our prices are fixed in Bitcoin, and do not change with the daily ups and downs.

We have decided to start accepting PayPal, because of the demand from the forum members. We are still deciding whether to keep the pricing in BTC and change USD prices daily according to the bitcoin rates, or to change the prices of all the products to USD.

Hmmmm...    : )

I will be disappointed if they abandon the pricing scheme that has already been announced. It's a little early in the game to be that indecisive -- not a great statement about credibility.

Accepting PayPal is great news. Keep it in USD so prices are fixed and we can calculate the price in BTC on a day to day basis.

I vote (as if I get a vote but I'm gonna say it anyways) keep the pricing in BTC
If BTC goes up, people would have to pay more; but if BTC goes down or someone can catch it on a dip, they save a little

Maybe the case, but aside Avalon. Terrahash's third party suppliers will be dealing in dollars.

Unless Terrahash want to order parts in advance and chance uncertainty dollar pricing is still the way to go, for now

They were going to do that anyways with BTC only payment - allowing paypal payment doesn't change the amount of risk they take on BTC price flux;  they just adjust the USD price for paying through paypal to equal the current price in BTC.  In the longer term it should balance out, if not gain them more money.  Yes it's a risk, but no more so than taking BTC only payment; you still risk that you take a bunch of orders at a set price and then BTC crashes low enough that you can't pay for parts and assembly and delivery either way

If they accept payment in USD it seems fairly obvious for them to price their products in USD. Why should they care about people arbitrage shopping with bitcoin?

Did I say they should care?  But why is because if you bet that BTC is going to go upward (and a good chunk of people do) then you're going to win in the end if you leave it in BTC and let people do what they're going to do in the meantime

They were going to take BTC only and price their products in BTC
Now they're going to take paypal, but I'm assuming not only paypal.  I'm assuming they will still take BTC payment.  If that's the case, leave the price in BTC
If they're going to move to only taking USD payment through paypal then yes it would make more sense to price in USD.  However, I doubt that's what they're doing - they're still going to take BTC

Good grief people, it's called an opinion!  I didn't say they had to, or 'should' or anything else of the sort.  I said I was throwing out my vote (what I would like to see happen - my opinion) and I even acknowledged that my opinion doesn't matter in that decision.  I gave it solely so they can see what people think.  From there, it's up to them to decide whether to go with anyone's opinion or say 'screw that we're gonna do this'

This is really good news and will shut-up a lot of folks who like to through around scam accusations.

@Terrahash:
- Could you please post a snippet of your Bitsyncom order stating:
   - The two order numbers, the order status & order date
- Could you please sign a short message with the Bitcoin address you used to
pay the two Avalon ASIC batches and state the unique payment address you used.
And post the info in this thread (bitcoin address, message, signature)
   - Some group sellers have done that in the past already, see:
      https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192916.40  - post #57
- Could you please post some proof of your company registration (Terrahash Inc.) e.g.
an official registration no. and / or link to some official commercial register.

- All this should not take much of your time.

I think the answer to these questions could provide more trust to your company and for all
the forum members still thinking about buying from you.

Thanks for all your efforts and commitment.

Any updates on their chip order?

They should be receiving samples in a day or two, right?

Once chips are received (or in transit), will a "order opening" time be set, so people can get things ready and in order beforehand?

Making Apps and Websites for people. I charge reasonable rates ($30-40/hour in BTC).

Just to clear things, we will be accepting BOTH BTC and PayPal.

We have the sample chips. We will most likely have a few sample boards ready by the weekend.

I will post pics of the chips in a little while.

Can I suggest that Terrahash open up pre-orders with a deposit? I'd like to at least hold some place in line.

Thanks!
