Afraid of August One?

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

I think it will be a good day to buy up Bitcoin and also celebrate because we will be moving forward with better technology. Bitcoin is going to grow up and progress on August 1st.

This is very simple thing , you should think that lot of amount of the Bitcoin are hold by the owner of the Bitcoin , so what will happ if the network of the blockchain will face problem , I mean we don't need to worry much about this , and instead of this some preacuation should be taken by us .
1) Before 1 August transfer your all Bitcoin at the blockchain wallet .
2) If you have Bitcoin then transfer only Bitcoin to your address of blockchain also  .
3) don't make transaction like things from any of the Bitcoin wallet .
4) Make backup of your wallet of the blockchain before the 1 August  .
If you will do these things , then I don't think that you need to worry anything ways , because you are in official ways and platform and nothing is problem in the official wallets

Bitcoin has gone through many problems in the past also. I believe Bitcoin is now robust enough to survive and grow a little more from here. There are competitors but Bitcoin is getting enough attention now from all walks of life. I think it will survive, but there will be some volatility ahead maybe for a while until the dust settles.

I am still a bit uncertain about it, but I am looking forward to it and hope this can improve Bitcoin. As others have said, it is important to keep your coins safe, especially not in online wallets like Blockchain and CoinBase.

I've already made the switch to a desktop wallet, so now I'm just waiting for the day to come!

Yes i am afraid for the fork in august one because i am thinking that maybe the price will dump if the fork will not become successful and a lot of people just dumping their bitcoin because of the hype so i just holding my bitcoins right now, it is a hard earned bitcoin so i don't need to sell it and i am preparing some my own money to buy more bitcoins if the price will dump in august one.

I am not afraid of the August One because I am positive that this coming update of Bitcoin network will have a good impact to bitcoin even if it result in fork.  I do not know why people keep on spreading fears, doubt and uncertainty since this move can possibly solve the long problem bitcoin had.  Aside from that if ever it split the network, your coins will not lose value in an instant.  I suppose both chain will try to survive and of course your bitcoin in each chain will have value. So the possibility of earning more than what the value of your coin today is very possible.

I'm actually thinking about moving all my bitcoins to altcoins so I can have a peace of mind. Lol. It's still a month from now and it's already bugging me alot. I think it will either crash hard or rise hard. Not sure though, since segwit2x is on the lead. But I think I'll play it safe for now.

worst idea ever, the altcoin are so unstale that it's very likely you will lose a big portion of your bitcoin

what might happen at worse is that at first some panic selling can tank the value and then you have the usual recover and another bubble

This will happen but dont expect this bubble to happen right away in segwit start. Think we will see as you mentioned price down then expect to see in following days or maybe week or two price going high. Transferring bitcoin to alts is risky 50-50, maybe do this keep half and change half.

That's a nice point of view there. But, I'm also curious what will happen to bitcoin on that day. That will be interesting. But, I'm not that afraid coz I don't have so much btc on my hand.

Hope so litecoin has proved it to be good. I think it will also affect the prices of different altcoins as most of those holders till soon dump to buy which BTC derivative will ship to moon.  Its better to just have btc ready to buy the cheaper altcoins

Many people are promising doubling of the price and that's just like a minimum what may happen.
My opinion is the price will grow, cause of all this agio around SegWit and price for crypto-currencies. But my expectation is SegWit will solve the problem of slow transactions and huge fees, because the number of people is just growing and the situation doesn't becoming better.

I'm not worried/afraid, it's something that has to be done in order to move forward. just don't sell your coins at a loss, keep holding.

I don't think there is something to be afraid of the upcoming august one, is there something that is a really big deal for us? I am a bitcoin believer and i think that whatever happen, i will just hold my bitcoin and i will buy bitcoin as soon as i get my salary from my regular job. I am not regretting anything in bitcoin and i am confident that soon bitcoin will going to the moon.

You should not be  afraid on that day. Its only typically and normal day to everyone. Im thinking what youre thinking on that day,but theres no way to be afraid of.
