Well, I'm not afraid of it but rather it is the opposite because I am glad that it will happen not only that the speculation of bitcoin will rise but also the speculation or maybe the real that there is a good change in the blockchain transaction. I like the idea that it will be separated into two forks and what I'm gonna support is the hard fork because I think it is the good one and it's really have some advantage rather than the soft fork.

That is right. I think the SegWit will be activated before August one. So everything will be OK.

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

If you would just see those who fear for it is not aware i guess of what good is going to happen after august 1. Normally of course price would goes down for awhile and that is bitcoin all about.

I think everyone's anxiety is very reasonable, with a bitcoin at the present time, it is very necessary to change (larger block number). However, the division of bitcoin can also have disastrous consequences. That is a very bad thing.

I am not worried about the upcoming event on August first. Though I admit that it has uncertainties, I still believe that all will end well. Even we are encountering often drops of bitcoin's price, this will all change after the segwit activation.

As we approach closer to the said date, we will experience so much volatility, a drop even that will be at around 2000 USD. And after a week or so, Bitcoin will start to recover and will keep increasing at that point.

At first I was scared of a hardfork crushing the price, then I was excited to see what would happen to see how this would resolve, now im just tired and I want it all to end. Whatever happens happens, but I want this bullshit to end already. Now we even have Craig Wright back with his nonsense after saying he would disappear.

Uncertain times ahead but no doubt it's for the best in the long run..
I hope everyone freaks out and sells off all their coins - more for me to buy up at a good price..  Grin Wink

If the value does drop significantly, it will recover over time so for me, business as usual..

Well, Some of us worried and some of us are excited this coming August1. For me, Im prepared for whatever will happen this event. So I think if there's a dump will happen, eventually bitcoin price will increase as planned.

Agree! Bitcoin price may dump as we approach the said date and might dip more but it will recover soon, market plays that way I  hope people will not panic sell because they will only regret it.

I don't tend to be afraid, and see any problems as an opportunity to buy if panic ensues. Still not clear on which is better as a wallet if things melt, blockchain or a desktop wallet like myetherwallet. Can anyone explain more fully the issues about why the coins are at risk (not the price risk, the actual coin)?

As far as my own speculation is concerned, there will be a soft fork happening. That's not something to worry about as it is not not something that would really divide BTC hardcore. August 1 should not be taken as a do or die game on the fate of bitcoin. No. The thing that is about to happen is a development, a kind of improvement to bitcoin. Relax everyone.

I think lots of people are uncertain about it but hope is what binding everyone because segwit is good for long run and it'll definitely give bitcoin a boost in transactions and fees.
It'll make more industries to adapt Bitcoin and it's a great thing for all of us.

i will use all my money to buy bitcoin, i am sure bitcoin price will rise up after the first of August. it's an opportunity i will not miss.

Good decision, mate. However, maybe you should use the old rule: "Never go all in". Just in case something unpredictable happens, which is very unlikely imo, do not invest all your money in Bitcoin. But that's me, maybe I'm too cautious, and if you'll go all in, you'll earn more, idk.

Not concerned. Bitcoin did not split and I think BTC community ll have enough sanity not go into that fork mistake. Cause one of these 2 forks would not survive and the other one would be severely weakened. All in all, nobody would benefit from that.

Just relax and no need to worry with upcoming events. With upcoming update it means, bitcoin have new feature and many people care with bitcoin blockchain, as a short effect of panic selling i guess bitcoin price will dump to $1800(i hope it wont) and after that moments(next 3 month) bitcoin price will pump again to $2500

Well sort of.  Because I really have no idea what will going to happen.  As a matter of fact, I am thinking of withdrawing my hard earned bitcoin for safety reasons. Grin  I cannot still understand why they need to do that.  Bitcoin is pretty fine and almost perfect.  What is the need to do that.
The need of segwit is that the transaction backlog has been increased tremendously and we need bigger blocks to confirm all the transactions.
And if no action is taken then bitcoin might not be able to survive when there will be a mass adaption.
Bitcoin is looking forward to upgrade for effective handling of transaction. So we should wait for that. As the difficulties come to bitcoin, some bug or fault might found sometimes then bitcoin always take a positive action toward these bugs and fault. So keep calm it will reduce the time of waiting for confirmations as well tx fees then you can happily use bitcoin fast transactions.

In fact I am afraid of this day because it can be a disastrous split while it can also be perfectly fine. There is more chances that it goes fine, but there is still a little chance that it goes bad, and I am afraid of this.

You don't get it, do you? There won't be a division because a fork makes you own Bitcoins on both chains. It's not risky in any way, you still have a choice and full control over your money. Also i'm sure people will choose the upgraded version, it's simply better, faster and more secure.

I think you have been reading through too much of the fud that the trolls here are spreading. Any possible negative impact of a chain split (or any other scenario), will be of temporary nature. Bitcoin has faced so much drama and crap already, that a negative outcome in the coming 30 or so days will be nothing more than one of the many obstacles it has overcome already. Just relax.
