I said way back we would get to 5,000 "coins" and I think we are reaching 10,000 soon.

With all due respect sir, these cryptocurrencies have become more like commodities or equities rather than currencies. Investing in bitcoin is more like investing in gold or apple. Investing in the remaining altcoins is like investing in silver, bronze, platinum, tesla, amazon, etc. That's where we are headed. These cryptocurrencies operating as currencies doesn't even matter anymore.

Altcoins are very much part and parcel of our crypto world and we should look to them as complements of bitcoin  and not substitutes of bitcoin as this will allow both to grow and guarantee a spot for them in the future  .

You only say that because you are here to profit off them.
And if i say they are a currency then you look scammy.
Long ago you all moved the goal posts..

Any innovation and attempts at getting a currency used was abandoned in favor of get rich quick ICO schemes.

You invented the ICO and subverted the need to buy GPU's to secure the block chain.
Then you started doing the ICO's and calling them "tokens" or assets.

Here is some advice..

Fuck off.

Get the fuck out of my scene scammy assholes and take your useless shitcoin ICO bullshit with you.

When i registered here there was no such thing as an ICO.
I came here like the others *back then* for currencies.
So if they are not a currency then time to leave dick heads.
And stop posting non-currencies in the altcoin section.

Seriously, GTFO.
This is my altcoin scene and you have to leave not me.
You all cook up bullshit schemes to pump and dump worthless garbage then play little games with semantics to try and justify bad behavior meanwhile literally no one is making any effort to get a CURRENCY adopted.

This is not the Crypto Stock Exchange.

As soon as you morph this shit into "penny stocks" it then becomes pure scam.
And i can assure you all.. you will suffer the consequences.

You said it, even if the project seems to be promising, the way the developers will work on that project will make the investors or users attracted. There are a lot of altcoins that has a good future in it what it really need is attention of their makers. But there are also altcoins that was really not paid attention because they're goal is to scam people.

those "altcoins", "tokens", "shitcoins" or whatever are all useless and are nothing but schemes.

5 years from now(but I'd bet even sooner) all these shitokens(currently existing) will be gone for good (because they are useless).

I think that can be said for many of them, but a few hold some purpose. There are altcoins that provide real usage- and these coins ARE being used. Of course, this represents a very, very small minority of altcoins, but I don't think it's safe to say that the entire industry is going to shrivel up and die. Now, will Eth be here in 5-10 years? Doubt it.

I think that can be said for many all of them,
but a few hold some purpose.

Except gambling and betting?
Or you mean some "games"?

All this is not enough to keep it "alive".

Oooh yeah banks use them  Roll Eyes moon soon

all i hear is - there are few currencies that are good.... few that are legit... few with real use...
well name them if you can... wtf...

tell me WHICH one is USED and FOR WHAT.

HINT: you can't, cuz they are useless.

you gamble with shitokens, it's not investing.
It's not even legit.

Indeed, I also believe that altcoins have a future however only few altcoins have future because even the devs doesn't make any effort. As long as that altcoin have responsible and hard working developers there a future ahead of it.

The distinction is the future we are talking about as usage / adoption of the premise.
Or.. profits.

This topic asks a question but what ?
Is it asking will Altcoins have a future where 95% are pointless crap traded for profits ?

Or ?

Is this topic asking if they will have a future based on their intended purpose ?
It is obvious what most of the "some" replies are talking about.

Guys if you are not looking past that you have a major problem on your hands.
Speaking of hands.. you are forcing the Policing agencies to come after crypto.
This has gotten crazy last few months and it is turning heads.
And not all of that is good.

Why bring that up ?
Well i would be a little extra paranoid about holding coins long term then.
Especially on these exchanges.
I don't think people are giving much thought to this or.. they are aware but working short term.
In other words vultures who came here to do their scheme fast and cash out fast.

The FOOL does not really exist.. or i should say is very rare.
Most know damn well this is silly bullshit but since they are willing to take the risk for profit they play along.

They don't fear scams.
They fear FUD on the scheme they are invested in will tank the price of their coin.
The actual choosing of which coin to invest in is of no concern.
Scammy ? it doesn't matter.. profits do.

These people here do not fear scams.. they fear losing money.
Any scam coin i seen exposed ended up having users stuck in in it trying to push it along further..
otherwise they would have to take a loss.

It's like traditional scams.. as soon as they are sucked in they have to keep suckering in more users to get out themselves.
How ?
Show up here and cry FUD and Troll and rail on about "sometimes" and "future"

I have gone down with the ship myself.
When JackpotCoin was dying i could have dumped but i did not.. i still have my coins 2 years later.
Pretty much none of you would have done that.

As the guy who quoted me earlier said.. "Lol"
Yup.. exactly... "Altcoins"  Cheesy

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

Yes, I think it will have its future. Depending on the Alt coin, Its because each of the sectors has its own demand and alternatives are made to focus and have the specialization to that demand. Its more like in any cases, if one doesnt satisfy you'll find another.

Bitcoin has a definite future. I believe that there will be some alts that stand still not only LTC and ETH but also: DASH, DOGE, XMR, ZCASH, etc.

I believe there will be changes in the impact on bitcoin into the future that can benefit more than others as well as Bitcoin.

well just do your study before you start your trading
consider this when holding Alts for the medium and long term, and of course choose them carefully.
What kind of Alts are recommended for the long term? Remember,Those coins that have a higher daily trading volume
and which have a big community behind them, with continuous development, are the best choice.

And by future you mean ?

I am trying to think how many times i have asked that in a huge variety of ways.
I couldn't imagine.. maybe a thousand times.

Future as in the price is a certain value ?
Or ? it is used as a currency ?

You don't say.. none of you do.
But i know what you are all driving at though.. market prices.

..something i don't care about.
