Some altcoins have better technology where a faster and low cost transaction can be made. The bitcoin's hype is because of its great price which is significant for many traders plus the great price increase at point in time which is nice for a bitcoin investment. I believe someday, people will recognize some other altcoin out there which has better characteristics than bitcoin.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

Many people have this same opinion but you can not think this about all altcoins. Many ICOs that launch will not make it so you need to do your research and find the ones with a purpose. An example of an altcoin with a purpose is Proptherium.io. They have business behind their coin, it is not just a method of payment. This is definitely the way forward for cryptocurrencies and they have hit the nail on the head.

In 2020 crypto currency will reach a level of maturity and acceptance we have never seen before. Before 2020 however the development in various coin is not likely to stop. So the future of altcoin is certain.

Yes, they have a future. But most of them only fly high for a short time. It is hard to sell the top. You should try not to regret that a coin which gained a lot came down a little bit. Instead of being angry that you have not sold the top you should sell and never look. Keep emotions out of your trade.

Of course alt coins have future. Specially some of them ETH, Monero, Waves, LiteCoin and others already show good sustainability. Also, in the distant future BTC at some point will stabilize its price and it certain that people will turn to alt coins.

I don't know about any other alts but i know that eth is gonna have a future because not only you can transfer your money through it (its quite fast than btc, especially after byzantium fork), you can build other utility token on it,etc. There are many other good alts too like xrp, neo, dash, ltc, etc.

As the rusia will try to make a regulation to the icos and that means the future for ico will be so bright and the developer just needs to register their company into the government and all of them will be legalized.

ETH adoption rate is almost as good as Bitcoin in my opinion (I am not talking about market movement here). Microsoft is creating their own blockchain based off ETH technology as well (Someone please correct me if I am wrong). I can't see how your argument on LTC stands though. Monero will always have a place in the society since gambling, shady deals, black money, etc always exist. There's plenty of groundbreaking disrupting tech that will take off too if they can actually deliver their final products in due time; eg, Sia, Golem, etc.

Even though BTC is the king of all currencies, it's Altcoins that will eventually take over the world. The leading project, in my opinion, will be Ethereum as it has the first mover advantage and will experience additional growth as more projects are building on top of it. It's quite a game changer. They've come up with their own protocol which is now widely used, and their development is so much more flexible than BTC. For BTC to upgrade you have to go through all these counter parties (miners) and seek consensus, which is a great decentralization feature but it has it's negatives. Ethereum might be less decentralized but it has a great leader who is able to take decision on a much faster paste than BTC, and he doesn't need to ask anyone about how to make the product better, he only needs to ask himself, as he is the founder and has the right to do whatever with his technology. Vitalik has a great future ahead, being so young as he is, and he will help bring altcoins to the mainstream (which he already did to a big extend).

Yes not all altcoins will have future, but some of them what you mentioned have a bright future. I choose ETH, Waves, NEM and LTC will take a big lead in there growth in next couple of years.

bitcoin can be very popular for now also because people use altcoins, so altcoins also in the future will be highly sought after people to collect it and exchange it with bitcoin

bitcoin is the primary crypto now but I think alt still plays major role on crypto popularity , it depends on their uses on how they will increase their demands, like eth in ICO, soon some alts will really be useful once their projects were fully developed.

If it is for using as a crypto currency I would say that that "space" is pretty full up.

Maybe 5 wilol prevail.

ALT coins for local economies on the Internet will still be HUGE however.

I believe alts have a future but only usefull and worthy projects will survive.
All SCAMs and useless shitcoins will dump and die.
