Which is the best currency to convert for the higher profit nowadays?
Well everybody would like to know the answer to that . . . it just seems like if Bitcoin goes up then so do the others , so stick with Bitcoin . .  the amounts on these faucets are so small , and the Coinpot mining even smaller , so i just put everything into Doge cos thats small as well . . . obviously its going to be massive one day , when its the global currency . . . but in the meantime i'm just building my stake , visiting Coinpot and the Moon faucets at least once a day , doing some clicking . . .

Thanks. I will convert to DOGE then.

WARNING.

It seems that coinpot has been hacked. I'm not trying to create any FUD. I've contacted Barry already on skype but it seems he's not near his computer.

Change your passwords on coinpot and other microwallets ASAP before there's any damage done.

What happened:
A member  joined a chat and PMd another member ( japakar.com  ), with a big list of login information.
This happened 10 minutes ago, so please be fast, before someone runs any scripts and steals your money.

I had to make sure this was legit, so I tried logging in with 1 account. I picked a random account and I was able to log in.

I have disabled coinpot's API to FH, so there wont be any withdraws towards our end.

Change your passwords in case you're using the same password somewhere else.

On CoinPot.co is not possible to replace the password as permanent displays an error. When a user logs in, the user's IP address is logged. Anything that happens in your account can be seen on "account details". According to these data, no one was in my account except me, but I'm still worried that no password change is possible.

I hope that in 2018, and especially for crypto related services, everyone is using a DIFFERENT password for every website/service.

That said, I find questionable the fact that coinpot is keeping the passwords in clear - not  hashed - in database or in any other place. I find it hard to belive since this guy seems to be highly skilled in programming having to handle a lot of websites and services, whereas storing the password in clear would be a quite primitive way of handling user sensitive data.

Also, what's API to FH are you referring to? I don't find it anywhere in the site.

Also, what chat?

To my mistake, I corrected. It is good that the user by IP address can see who is in the account.

FaucetHUB Faucet Owner API. CoinPot has withdraw option to FH, so I force-disabled "withdrawals" from CP to FH.

Thanks for the warning, mex. Is it that database posted somewhere in public or user just got file from somewhere?
But even if you hackers have Coinpot users login information, it's not likely that they will be able to steal money. To confirm withdrawal you need to click link which are sent to Coinpot user email. If hacker don't access to email, it's not possible to withdraw funds.

They may not be able to withdraw but they can sell all your crypto and buy high priced crypto from another user account like they just did with binance. https://cointelegraph.com/news/possible-hack-of-third-party-tools-affects-binance-exchange-users

eh? coinpot isnt an exchange so nothing like that is possible

From Coinpot:

"CoinPot has NOT been hacked - your data/earnings are safe!
Posted: 2018-03-08 08:00 UTC
We have been made aware that there are some posts on forums etc suggesting that CoinPot has been hacked. We have fully investigated this and can confirm that there has been no breach of our systems. All of your private and sensitive information (i.e. passwords) are securely hashed before being safely stored in our databases so it is impossible for us or anyone else to read these, even if we were ever hacked in the future. We follow all industry best-practices to ensure the highest level of security.

The main part of the problem is that many users continue to use the same sign-in credentials (i.e. email/password) on multiple sites. Therefore when one of these other sites is hacked or leaks password data this can then also be used to sign in to CoinPot. This is what we believe has happened in this case. All accounts that we know to be affected by this have now been locked to prevent unathorised access - users will need to reset their password in this case.

So...

IMPORTANT REMINDER

It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED best practice to avoid re-use of passwords across multiple sites
We also recommend that you enable 2FA"

^ I think that was it. A list of email/password was leaked from another site/service. Or a service was created with the sole pourpose to build a list of email/passwords for what we know, to be used to login in other sites.

Infact, I got two failed login attempts at my coinpot account on March 4:

Fortunately I DO NOT use the same password anywhere.

Not sure where you're getting your information from but Bitcoin Core withdrawals work seamlessly on CoinPot.

Claim amounts are now drastically reduced on all coinpot faucets  Sad
BonusBit average claim got halved from 36 satoshi to 18 and the Moon faucets seem to be halved now as well.
Makes no sense at all, seeing as how all cryptos have decreased in value lately I thought claim amounts would increase as they usually do.

I'm not seeing it. I just made a sweep through (I claim on an irregular schedule) and did not notice any decrease in the claim amount accrual rate. The claims just now are roughly equal to claims I made yesterday. BonusBitcoin's average claim (38) has not decreased since yesterday, either.
