because it marked the beggining of all CC's it is like gold (physical not btc gold), it was one of the first things there giving value und tradeable resources..
btc will always be CC nr.1

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?

Bitcoin being first gave it a huge advantage over other cryptocurrencies that came later. You could argue that there are many other cryptocurrencies that have better features, faster transaction times, and lower fees, but they don’t have the name recognition that Bitcoin has. Another advantage is that because Bitcoin has been around longer, it has been scrutinized and tested to the point that it is battle tested and has proven able to survive the problems and criticisms.

I think bitcoin is the most popular among other crypto currencies simply because it happens to be the longest running online currency out there. This may also be he reason why people prefer it the most because they feel a sense of security when investing on it. |
