I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
I agree with you, because of the major and first invented currency, Bitcoin is mainly becoming popular day by day. not only that but also Bitcoin is getting accepted in many countries is one of the reasons for getting popular. But I believe, Increasing price value is the major causes of being popular cryptocurrency so far. because people love money. people also like those platform where they can get benefitted within a short time period. |

Because it is the first digital/crypto currency created and that it has gained so much value for the past 8 years. With this, more and more are getting interested and are now trying to get some bits for themselves. |

Because persentation of rising price in bitcoin is the highest then the other cryptocurrency , and bitcoin is the most using in traded then the other altcoin . |

As been said, bitcoin is the first crypto currency and it had been through ups and down already that's why it has established it's name. Also, it's price is quite interesting so more people craves to own Bitcoin. However, with the Altcoins introduced, it might be also a threat to Bitcoin. It might be surpassed especially by etherium.

It is made popular by scammer as you are able to make the payment anonymous and no one came to know for what purpose you did the transaction and it helped the terrorist also.
It was made popular by campaigns over Facebook and fake video in YouTube and other websites also helped.
