Bitcoin for sure. Have you seen it's surging in value again, even after those landmark events? For me it is a true sign of the market getting more mature and reliable.

If I planned on buying some coins today. Which would be the better long term investment, and why?
That depends on your risk taking capability as well as your patience. Also you need to clarify your investment term. If you are looking for a long term investment, then block a percentage of your investment for bitcoin. because has the potential to give you a very very high return in long term. So if you are willing to block your capital for longer term, then bitcoin must be purchase. There are few altcoins as well which has a very good potential in long term. I have also started investing in altcoins recently and bought some ETH, because I feel ETH can be a competitor to the bitcoin just by looking at their market cap. There are options like Dash, Litecoin and many other, but choose wisely. Bitcoin remains as the best suitable investment opportunity for both short-term and long-term investment as well suitable for small ti high risk investor then I do not find the any proper reason to go for altcoin investments. Because, the reward-risk ratio will be very very low for altcoin investors. Altcoins are undergoing heavy manipulations time to time which will be the biggest challenge all investors might need to face. I believe bitcoin will remain as the best to investment opportunity for another decade also hence choosing it the right now must be one of the lifetime wise decision for sure. |

Altcoins are for those people who couldn't buy BTC back when it released and are now looking for a similar investment with a big return. Of course nothing will come close to Bitcoin but all the ICOs and altcoins are for those who wish to invest and trust in the project that they invest, wait for a period of time and expect a huge boom in the coin's sector and then sell it for multiple folds of their initial investment. Bitcoins on the other hand right now, if you do decide to invest in it, you should be ready to wait for a longer time to be able to make more profit compared to altcoin investments.

That is true, the market of bitcoin is getting more stable and only a few volatility can be seen and i believe that it is a sign that the market of bitcoin is getting matured and most of the people in that market knows what to do for a certain situation and investing in bitcoin now is almost a safe investment because after a few years it will give you huge returns. |

I spread risks by buying some BTC and different other stable coins. Right now i bought some TTT at their ico and waiting before they release their indexes at exchange. I think that in the long term will be my best investment because i can trade much faster and effective. |

At this time I prefer bitcoin as a most profitable investment. Bitcoin currently has excellent movement when compared with altcoin. This rapid increase in prices can be utilized to get big profits. I saved some of my investment by buying bitcoin. I hope the price of bitcoin can continue to increase and lead me to a success of getting a lot of money.

Investing in both nowadays has nothing to lose. But for me, investing in altcoin provides a bigger profit than bitcoin. Holding some altcoins a great way to avoid bad risks will occur. World of crypto is really become popular.

Bitcoin recommended itself as worth for investment, but tell me: who knew that bitcoin will reach such success?! Only little group of believers. I am agree with you about bitcoin. It is strong player on the market today and it proved it's power. People who have money invest in it nowadays and play the biggest role in it's price making. And poor people chose Altcoins with expectation of the same kind of success as bitcoin reached. But I doubt that any will be ready to repeat that. |

This signal is gone, when the price of Bitcoin stable around $2700 - $2500, this is best time for investing to Bitcoin, so in current just is FOMO on market and can drop down any time. |

I want to mention that every altcoin depends on bitcoin's price. Also trusting to altcoins is hard, for example remind latest news about stealing ethereums. Currently bitcoin is more independence and safe. As we see it's goalbis rising and rising. I can't say how safe will be serious investment but thinking about that last summer would be good than thinking now when price rised so quickly and so highly.

I think Bitcoin is the more secure option, however, if you invest in coins that currently have a very little value, but huge potencial, you might profit way more. It depends on how much risk are you willing to take. I myself think about Ethereum atm, do you people think investing in Ether is a good idea?

The gains in altcoins are incredible. Unfortunately, there are simply too many of them, and the threat of de-listing is high. One needs to do a lot of research before investing in them. Bitcoin is much safer, but the gains are smaller. I also tend to trade stocks and forex better than crypto. So I keep most of my bitcoins (and a few litecoins and ether) in cold storage. Then I trade mostly forex on 1broker using bitcoin. |

To avoid a huge loss at once , so better to put your money on bitcoin and also several altcoins . Since bitcoin price movement is really increase fast after days or weeks you can getting the benefits of the movement of the price if you know when to sell and if you know when to buy bitcoins because the price of bitcoin is not stable if you really want to make a large amount of profit be active of trading in bitcoin and use some tools like alert sounds so that you know your margin setup so that you can sell or buy bitcoin.. |

I believe Bitcoin is always the best investment and it is a lot safest than investing in altcoins. There is many altcoins having good potential actually, but still Bitcoin is the first more used crypto currency with the hugest community trading it. |

Yes for sure, it depends on your capital, on how much money do you have, how much are you willing to lose, etc, so many factors.
So it is better to diversify doesnt matter how much money you have, if you are gonna to invest all in crypto then you should invest into btc and into altcoins, and make your own portfolio with your preferences; short-midd-long term.
If you are gonna buy alts, then make a research and look for good and solid coins, that have a promising future, like ethereum, ltc, siacoin, monero, etc.
Bitcoin will always increase it value, same as altcoins.
