Hi All Neo enthusiasts.

I am a Mac User and have held ANS/NEO for a while now. I have previously used the ANS wallet and held for a good while. Recently topped up via Bittrex and I want my funds out there ASAP into my ANS wallet..

As with Cryptos, you need to be careful when transferring them around. Transferring a BTC to an ANS wallet means disaster and lost funds, so I got cold feet when seeing that Bittrex calls it NEO (the rebranded name), and my ANS wallet is surely ANS. I transferred 1.1 (to include the bittrex fee) and the ANS wallet still isn't syncing, stuck around 90%, however I can see my balance is +1 on NEO trackers.

I want to see my FULL balance in my wallet, but I worry about using anything unofficial as a wallet of my NEO/ANS. I can't install the new Windows client because I am a MAC user, and I want my GAS to generate so I want it out of Bittrex..

Do you guys have any advice for me?

I hope for it, but I see Bitcoin as the good old gold.  It will stay, it will have value, it will be used.  But for now there are more innovativ tools / coins on the market like ETH or Neo or IOTA.

If we have a balance of NEO/GAS in our NEON wallet and I move NEO to a new address, does the GAS just move with it?

or is that separate transaction as well?

I saw an interview recently of DHF (Neo founder) that they won't be developing a Mac wallet for sometime because their primary focus is the windows version - however now we have a Mac version that looks like it's from a third-party developer. How can we be sure that it is safe??

After reading a horror story from one of the members here recently I am very hesitant! Am I the only one who it too chicken to act at the moment??

City of Zion isn't exactly a third-party developer, at least not in the sense that that connotes. They are a developer community that's directly supported by the NEO Council. Many people on this board use their products, but of course the final choice is up to you and what you feel comfortable with.

They sit seperately in your wallet, so it would be seperate transactions to get them both to a different wallet.

Why are people taking Neo seriously, when there's only one active developer on GitHub? Really, only one, not even two.

And please don't tell me that they're working in a private repository, or some repository used only by Chinese people, which you can't link to.

I'm honestly curious about this. You would have thought that after raising so much money, they'd use it to create a working wallet, some apps and whatever else is needed.

This was Da Hongfei's answer to this question in the Reddit AMA from the end of July:

There are about half a dozen full-time developers here in Shanghai, among them two are core developers. We don’t need tens of people doing protocol level development. Other than that, there are a few dozens more contributing code and ideas as community members, some of them are Onchain DNA developers. Besides we have a few academic researchers serving as technical advisors. By saying Core developer, we mean who has commit permission on GitHub. Bitcoin has 15 core developers as of today.

He has also stated that they deliberately use a very high threshold for defining a 'core developer'; i.e., more of the NEO devs would be listed as 'core' on another coin. But, for example, the City of Zion developer community is actively developing for NEO, yet they aren't considered 'core' NEO devs.

I'm not arguing for or against this approach; just relaying facts.
