Over half of Primedice daily users are now Russian (53.56%) .
Most VPNs have servers in USA/UK/NL/Canada/etc. Russian servers are IMO not popular at all for VPNs for the western market. Of course you can connect to Russian VPNs if you want. But to think the number of Stunna is wrong because of Americans using Russian VPNs or something, is a bit silly Me personally I use servers in either Canada and USA because they are close to me and it is lowest ping, also they use the same language and content as what I want. But for people who don't want even the country they live in to be the same as what it says on the internet, IPs from other countries are good as well. 53.56% is insane though, what is the chat volume comparable to the english vs russian That number can't be right, thats insane. I don't remember that many Russians from when I hung out at PD. Yeh Russian chat even seems to be pretty quiet

There is actually a Russian chat room. At the bottom of the chat tab, there is a "Change Chat Room:" drop down menu, and you can choose from 3 different rooms "English", "PVP" and "Russian".

I'm guessing it's because these guys are moderators and they want to feel important. sealswithclubs chat was never moderated and there was never an issue. if people spammed or begged you just ignored them. still, i'm glad to hear that other languages are no longer outlawed. I'm going to look for that tab next time i sign in.

I'm going to look for that tab next time i sign in. Thanks, hui, for the reasonable replies. I happen to disagree in almost every way. Some replies below two reasons why we try to keep the "english" chatroom "english" (apart from the name):
- people go crazy and definitely dislike if people repeatedly don't care if they are understood by the majority of people present - moderators are ment to moderate, which is impossible if they can't understand what they have to take care of because of language
But if there's an ignore button then anyone can stop listening to anyone they don't like. Imagine a world without moderators. You say if moderators can't do their job then that's a problem, but I, for one, question the need moderators in the first place. there _are_ quite some russian people which try to speak english and are a welcome and precious part of the english speaking part of the community.
unfortunately there are some people who just dont care - some of them even don't seem to care that there is a russian chatroom.
in order to at least try to keep the chat clean and friendly moderators tend to tell them to use english in the english chat-room and russian in the russian chatroom.
it definitely has nothing to do with an urge to feel important.
i for my part would be more than happy if they took the red M away from me since its much more of a burden than a pleasure to be in such a position (and i never asked for it).
imagine a chatroom full of people with everyone speaking in his native language - i don't think it would be a lot of fun to be there...
I imagine this is just the sort of chatroom I'd prefer. However, obviously it's a matter of opinion. it could be nice to have a chatroom for every language spoken by pd users, too although it would probably clutter the community and there might be a lack of people willing to moderate for all of those languages.
I think it'd be a step in the right direction. What if there was a "create room" button where people who the moderator was after to speak "english" were able to step into their own room for their own language as they preferred. Wait. An unmoderatred room! This would be a good experiment in my opinion, open an unmoderated room and keep the moderated room. See which room people hang out in. but all that is just my personal opinion and doesn't necessarily reflect anyone elses Same disclaimer applies to me

about the need for moderators and the ignore option:
i've seen unmoderated/selfmoderated chatrooms and they worked out very well. unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case with primedice - while i dislike that a lot (it actually means "work" for me) i can imagine some reasons why pd is a special case. i could elaborate on that, but for now it's enough to mention two:
* btc world still is a little like wild west, people scam, people shoot very quickly and there is a minority of people who seem to enjoy it a lot to destroy nice things for others after they benefitted themselves * due to the nature of pd and the accessability as a simple website results in a low (technical) threshold to access and use (and also abuse) it
unfortunately there are quite some hours a day the chat basically IS unmoderated and i see few people that said "wow, that was so nice when the mods were away" but a lot of people that keep on saying "we need more (or better) mods".
i definitely would be happy if mods weren't needed, but looking at unmoderated chat-excerpts i tend to think we either need to raise the threshold to chat at all or should be working to have less unmoderated hours.
no mod around doesn't necessarily mean chat needs to be "unmoderated" - it could be users that tell users to be nice to each other and obey some common-sense rules. sadly i dont see that happen a lot...
that all being said i definitely like unmoderated forums and chats when they are "working" ;)
about chatrooms with every language allowed:
we tolerated all languages at once in pvp for months (and still do) and what i have seen wasn't very encouraging - although it also was very low volume at most times.
about the enablement of people to create chatrooms:
i think we have/had that experiment already running in the pvp room. if you would allow users to create their own chatrooms you would have hundreds of them. i think this would clutter the community too much without a real need.
definitely find the idea interesting, though ;)
about our "disclaimer":
i am delighted to see that there are people that are actually interested in a discussion without taking everything personally - thanks a lot for that!
and thanks again for tolerating my miserable english :)
EDIT: fixed the quoting by removing it :)

he didn't say he is not accepting the rules, he says he has a different opinion and we are actually trying to argue - i am delighted to see someone stand up for his opinion AND even being able to communicate why. i value the conversation a lot since some of the best inventions might be coming from such discussions!

Idk why but people doesn't seem to use /ignore enough . When mods are not around u should always use /ignore command to evade spammers and such. But mods are needed when people come to chat and try to scam and some users will fall for it instead of doing ignore. So when mods are there they mute scammers and everyone on chat can see it and use some common sense not to fall for theirs scams.

If I were you, I'd email support@primedice.com. I once had some balance dissappear during a primedice issue and I emailed about it and they made it right (and then some). I'm sure if you email the info to them that they'll straighten you out.
