Holes are not made due to investments, and neither do people become lazy due to investments. Consider the case of dooglus, I don't think he was lazy neither he had any issues with the site. It all depends on the character of the owner of the website.

if you set email address in profile than you can recover your password through this, now this is functional there for password using email address and no need to wait to get reply from support section.

Is your password the same here as it is in PD? Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people get their PD and other bitcoin related accounts hacked due to the forum hack. Your personal details such as email address and password hashes will likely already be on the black market and leaked publicly eventually so make sure you change everything especially if all your accounts can be linked via email or reuse passwords etc.

Some people dont because they do not want to be spammed with newsletter every 3 days or so. This happened quite alot if you are entering your email for subscription then be prepare to get your mailbox full of newsletter  ( some kind of traumatize )
Although Stunna has given his words on that the email will be solely use for account restoration, some people still tend to avoid providing their email since email is considered as a sensitive stuff to be known as well
