Check out the following blog post for more information: https://intensecoin.com/2017/08/31/mandatory-wallet-update-ticker-change/

We have also updated linux x86_64 binaries for GUI wallet + miner and posted to Github releases at the following links...

Miner: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoin/releases

GUI Wallet: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoinwallet/releases

Also guys, be part of our social media community!

Could this be the reason the pool was up and down yesterday? very poor mining yesterday my payments didn't start until 7.44pm and only 8 payments have been made compared to all the other days were I get between 15-20 payments total starting round 12pm nothing changed in regards to my mining time etc

I and my friends left mining.
Angry
This is the worst production for this year.  Cry
there is no stability and coins do not come for the work done!
we'll stand on the sidelines and watch.
there are many coins that give money for their work - right now!
here it is not known when there will be money ?! and whether they will ever!

Sometimes, especially during the beginning of a project a pool is down more often in order to perform updates, do maintenance as well as solving issues.

You are right, since there is no exchange available yet it is impossible to put a monetary value behind mining efforts. Rolling out an exchange listing too early can cause much trouble especially when we look long term. Of course on the other side there might me also some liquidity benefits.

However, for all, Investment rule No1; Only invest money you can afford to lose. We are here for the long run - long term growth with a lot of cool things to come - people seeking a quick buck should reconsider whether this is the right project.

so what exactly is new that this blockchain brings to the table that others don't offer?
This if it really develops as hoped for:

Quote
Virtual private networks (VPN) are a mechanism to anonymize and obscure internet traffic from unintended eyes.
VPN popularity has surged in recent history as internet anonymity and censorship have become increasingly perceptible
threats for internet users. Intense seeks to address this call for interest in anonymity by providing an anonymous
cryptocurrency combined with a decentralized peer-to-peer virtual private network. We plan to offer a novel in-wallet
approach to VPNs whereby peers can offer their own internet connections as encrypted tunnels for interested parties.
VPN providers will receive Intense Coin (ITNS) in exchange for their services, and be able to specify rates for their service.

I guess there is something wrong.
Blocktime is arround 15 minutes but the difficulty is still growing. That's probably due to the today's hashrate peak between 02 and 03 GMT (over 5Mh/s), but the algo should adapt and adjust the diff faster.

I am hearing a lot of questions about block difficulty mentioned here and in Slack. I'll try to clarify.

CryptoNote derived coins adjust difficulty based on the time it took to hash the last day's worth of blocks (720 blocks in our case), minus 8.3% of outliers on each end (~17% total). It will take time for the network to re-adjust after someone pointed a lot of hashing power at the pool. The coin is always attempting to target a block time of 120 seconds based upon those last 720 blocks.

This scenario will become increasingly less common and probable as the network grows. It is vulnerable to an influence like this due to the immaturity of the blockchain and the lack of hashing power, especially as most hashing power is concentrated in a single pool. For now, this is our reality.

The difficulty adjustment algorithm works quite well. It will work better once the coin is more established. For now, we will have periods of fluctuation due to the factors described above. Network hash rate as displayed on the pool is calculated as a function of the last X blocks, just like difficulty. It's not necessarily representative of the true hash rate if people only momentarily direct TONS of hashing power at the network for a short period of time (which is what happened yesterday).

To address the questions about 'why no block explorer at launch' - I'm not sure it's really necessary with a young network. The vast majority of transactions are just mined coins, especially before the coin is on an exchange and has more value associated with it. We had our hands full with other matters and wanted to offer the community an opportunity to engage and receive a handsome bounty. Nobody was able to fulfill the bounty so we took care of the task. Regardless, it's done now Wink

If I understand right, if someone gives for pool 10 GH/sec (for example) for a 1 hour, network hasrate and difficulty will grow slowly and much more time than this 10 GH/sec worked. And after peak, network hash and diff. will decline as much time as it grew up.

Is that so?

I agree. There are not many VPN centric coins. I believe mysterium and VPNcoins are the another ones. VPN coin is PoS only and has been around for a while. Compared to mysterium I like Intense more. We have dev who is working hard and responding to the comments well. I am not worried about coin getting listed on exchange. I rather have the VPN ability though wallet first.

Can you maybe provide already some more information about the system behind the wallet vpn node which should come as alpha version in november?
As i understand you pay for the VPN service with your IntenseCoins and will there be an option to connect to a node in a specific country?
Will there be a possibility to limit bandwidth for the VPN users?

Could this be the reason the pool was up and down yesterday? very poor mining yesterday my payments didn't start until 7.44pm and only 8 payments have been made compared to all the other days were I get between 15-20 payments total starting round 12pm nothing changed in regards to my mining time etc
Thanks for the ignorance it means a lot!

Still problems with the pools payment... yesterday was much more like the other days I had 23 payments but I stopped mining 12.30am my last payment was 12.15am??? Payments usually carry on until 3-4am with having to wait for block to mature.
