Because segwit2x cancelled so bitcoin price down and this is opportunity for altcoin price for increase rapidly. All people who still have bitcoin will taking profit by buying altcoin, that's why a lot coin in the coinmarketcap become green today

Seem to be reading a lot about it online but it hasn't been fully explained in detail for non solidity experts.

I hope not. Without an Ethereum fork the funds in the wallets are locked forever. Or maybe a more accurate analogy would be the lock is gone and the money is stuck in a safe without a door.

You are right I'm not sure had things are going to evolve with bitcoin in the next days but I think it's a good moment to invest in ICO's.

You are right I'm not sure had things are going to evolve with bitcoin in the next days but I think it's a good moment to invest in ICO's.

I was actually getting nervous about the upcoming Bitcoin fork, not sure what to do. Now that it has been postponed I feel relief, although that movement up to 7900 and then back to 6900 was quite ugly.

Exactly .. some of the alts are more than 30% up.. It still doesn't compute with the losses of the last time but it's an improvement.

As long as Bitcoin is swinging up and down there were movement in and out of altcoins, but not so much into running ICOs. You cannot buy ICO tokens on the exchange and once you have pledged you cannot trade them until the tokens are distributed and listed on the exchange. For those reasons it will probably take a while long for money to flow in ICOs.

This is quite a turn and a surprise for most of us. I believe alts will go up soon and ICOs like Somas will get more investors. 

Let's hope it many ICOs for the last time didn't collect much funds. I hope this will change now after segwit 2x got canceled.

I think people need a few days to recover from the segwit2x fork cancellation. And maybe than the money will flow back from bitcoin to altcoins and ICO's
