What do you say when asked this question from a friend who has only heard its name mentioned a few times in the news and has no clue. I find myself lately taking the easy way out and suggesting google. I would prefer to give a clearer answer, but usually saying something leads to more questions and more confusion.
If someone could point me to a twitter type answer that would inform and twig their curiosity, i think it would be a better outcome.

I tell them that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. I sometimes ask them to make a research and find out on their own, since I'm tired explaining to people who wants to earn money but not doing anything for their sake. Bitcoin is an easy way to earn money, you just need to invest your time, effort and work hard for it.

The problem with those who have seen the change with people who are now working with bitcoin is they want it faster. They are too greedy and want what we want in just a little amount of time. That is just insane and I hate it. I am getting lazy telling them how it is if that is their purpose so I just always told at introduction that it will take time then, they will go away.  Grin

Simply tell them to Google and if they still don't get it , tell them to leave the topic itself cause having no such info of anything and want to spend all the time wasting time

telling people to search for it isn't very helpful. it's very easy to explain simply. it's digital money that goes up in value rather than down in value.

everyone has their own understanding for it. some say it's money, and some say it's an investment tool. both are true, but sometimes, people use bitcoins depending on their responses to bitcoin. some even say bitcoin is a tool to play gambling.

Currently digital currencies can only be used in some countries only,
and Bitcoin has changed the appearance of paper money, bitcoin can be used anywhere and anytime, there is no limit to using it unless you do not have Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a new currency that was created in 2009 by an unknown person using the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are made with no middle men – meaning, no banks! There are no transaction fees and no need to give your real name. More merchants are beginning to accept them: You can buy webhosting services, pizza or even manicures.

When someone asks me about bitcoins. I always say something important that they should know. Because of this they will build the foundation and if they still do not understand it I say that they look for google. It's hard to point out that you do not even understand.

I definitely agree with what you want to point out dude, nowadays when we say money almost lot of people actually do what it takes just to earn money even though its illegal, but in this forum although some people want to take it too easy or should we say for greed or money but in reality you really need to work, and there is no such thing as easy money if you want to earn modestly.

Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that solves mathematical problems.
It’s the first example of a growing category of money known as cryptocurrency.

Every time my friends ask me about the content, I tell them only that they are a digital currency. They tell me what this means. I do not know a very precise explanation for it. But what is important is that we know that it will become very well known after a few years but will surpass the money.

When I friend asked me a question that what is bitcoin. I simply reply him that is same like any money which we use for trading in our daily life. For its detail and deep knowledge I recommended him/ her Google and Wikipedia. On that sites there are too much information about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which is not tied to any country and is neither bound to any regulations. Hence decentralised.
Transactions can be made through bitcoins and the best thing is that they are totally anonymous.
Some people buy bitcoins as an investment hoping that the values will go up in the future which makes it highly profitable. Governments have no control over it. Bitcoins are usually saved in virtual digital wallets.

if I myself use a way that tends to explain a little bit of knowledge that I have. but if they do not really understand the possibility that I recommend searching for information within Google so that I can solve all the problems in this Forum very easily.
