It might depend on the reason why Bitcoin can die. In case when the death is due to total ban of Bitcoin as done by all governments or regimes then there is a possibility that Bitcoin death can also mean the death of altcoins. Now, if the reason can be other than that or it is within Bitcoin like losing the appeal from the market then there is a possibility that another coin can rise up to take the vacuum of leadership.

I agree to CryptoBry,, bitcoin and altcoin are not different identity because altcoins are made in the image of bitcoin.. If bitcoin be banned in all countries it would be altcoin will be gone the same.. But if bitcoin was out in top because of a new alternative coin arrives and more appealing which deserved the higher rank than bitcoin eventually it remains.

Death of Bitcoin would cause crypto currency to crash. The death of each altcoin depends from its team if they want to continue. I guess if that happend the battle is between ETH and LTC.

Previous crashes has shown that altcoins struggle with bitcoin price drops. If Bitcoin dies, I don't think others will be able to survive.

The issue could only be avoided by removing altcoin-bitcoin price pairs. Just like BTC-USD, alts should only be tied to USD or other fiat currencies.

i think yes but base of history in bitcoin in this past 7 years i think this is going far and its not going die,popularity of bitcoin in the world is the best example why this is going special and not easy to be not use because of what bitcoin conveniece brings so its a big mistake to ask if bitcoin will die and altcoin die

Okay, this is just an "IF" so if bitcoin dies we are not sure if alt coin dies. Altcoins does have their own developers and supporters.

They also have their own market cap but since every alt coin is depending on bitcoin, it's possible that they might die soon after bitcoin's death.

But not all of them, any let's don't think about this because bitcoin will never die.

If bitcoin die, I think altcoin will be affected too. It is because bitcoin is the first and base of all crypto currency. But i believe that bitcoin will not die maybe it will bann but not in the point that it will be die because nowadays bitcoin is become more popular and the  value is still bumping and also other country use it as a local currency.  That was some signs that bitcoin never die.

I consider bitcoin as the root of a large tree, and altcoin is a branch of a tree. what will happen to the branch when the roots die? Then the twigs will slowly begin to dry and eventually die as well. Bitcoin is now a necessity. Altcoin could have died but bitcoin will still exist, and meet the needs of its users, bitcoin will die if the market dies.

Yes bitcoin serves as a base for all, altcoins are somehow dependent upon bitcoin but bitcoin is independent. Bitcoin has no end, it ends only when all its users get out of it, but it never happens as there are millions of strong followers and believers of bitcoin.

It would be terrifying to see if bitcoin will die because it will make a huge impact on all altcoins. We can even feel it today whenever bitcoin is failing so is the other altcoin, what more if bitcoin die. Maybe other altcoin would comeback and raise once more but it would hard for them since there should be a big event for bitcoin to die.

we have to differenciate between bitcoin/altcoins and the idea behind, coins might or might not die but the idea behind can be applied to many different things.
The blockchain, and crypto coins are an idea which will hardly die, people will keep using it, searching new technologies to apply it

We're not sure about that, I guess it would just have a big effect on Altcoins and Dollars but they will not die just like that, and bitcoin would not totally die, the right term for that is "shutdown". Bitcoin will remain alive but it priceless, since it is decentralized, it is impossible to die just like that.

Altcoins will defenitely take a hit, because no one can say that altcoins haven't gained any traction and acknowledgement because of Bitcoin.

There is two ways Bitcoin can die. One, due to a technical or trial vulnerability, who's faults could transfer to other coins, but not all of them, or a community issue, which would deeply affect all coins.
