Yes, all the altcoin are completely depend on the Bitcoin value. Sometime even when the Bitcoin price is increasing the value of the all the altcoin start decreasing. So now the market of cryptocurrency completely depend on Bitcoin only.
I don't think so. Altcoins value is not depend on Bitcoin value, it's depend on its project is good or not. I saw that in many situation the price of bitcoin was dipped but price of many altcoins are still increase and contrary. Bitcoin is occupied 53% Cryptocurreny Market so bitcoin is directing Cryptocurreny Market but in the future if it appear a coin that is better bitcoin then it can will instead of bitcoin. I think Ethereum will be done this Smiley

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I think Bitcoin will still live longer since most of the altcoins are exchange through bitcoin.  If one day that Bitcoin will die, maybe the next most valued altcoin will stand as a replacement of the Bitcoin, like for example is the Ethereum.

If you goto a regular fiat currency exchange, there are some main contenders, USB, GBP, YEN and EUR - this is after a long time of the monetary system being introduced, the cryptoworld we live in moves so quickly that I feel there will be some main contenders in the not too distant future, maybe these are BTC, ETH, XMR, WAVES and some hotly developed Altcoins - what do you think should be on the list?

Of course if bitcoin dies the altcoin will die must. because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins.
bitcoin is king of all coin, bitcoin and other coins will simply be upgraded to continue their usability.
so i think bitcoin will never die.

Or some other alts may take btc's place. Notice how almost all alts decline when btc pumps. And how alts rise when btc dips? Alts depend on btc price but if another alt will rise to that level close to btc, i think they'll survive.

Altcoins directly die without bitcoin. But altcoins also die with bitcoin price rally as well. This is like a dilemma and it's hard to find a condition where altcoins are increasing. Most of them are traded against BTC like XXX/BTC.

I think at this point, Bitcoin is nearly impossible to kill. It may take a beating here and there, but ultimately, it will rise again and is here for the long term.

No, I don't think it will die. In fact, miners will then change the cryptocurrency they're mining. Somehow it might cause demotivation, especially to the major investors of the Bitcoin leading them to either quit or go to altcoins.
Altcoin is independent, but let's say it came from BTC in the first place.

Yes Bitcoin is the independent of any other altcoin.Bitcoin will not die at any situations, today price of bitcoin will gives you the answer for this. But you can change the bitcoin to altcoin to get some more profit.Bitcoin will never die .It's has very huge potential then the Altcoin.

I think if the bitcoin is gone forever. The different types of altcoin will not be lost. There are many different types of digital currency in today's time that they focus on bitcoin just like the ETH rank it now only following the bitcoin. It can replace bitcoin when it is completely lost.so do not wanna make a variety of atlcoin today. Because we are the key to the development of a digital currency.

Maybe because when bitcoin rise the other cypto is also rise and when it get fall there are also fall. Same scenario when bitcoin die altcoin will die also, i think because they depend in bitcoin.

Altcoins Will be largely affected but certain coins like etherum and lite coin will still continue. Bitcoin is one of the oldest and cryptocurrency so it can play a negative impact on the growth of other coins. It's unlikely for bitcoin to die in a short span of time it's will probably exist for a longer life periodically than we expect.

Although bitcoin can copy any innovations, if the community and developers want it, the altcoins provides healthy competition in the crypto currency market, and thereby it provokes Bitcoin developers to remain active and continue to develop innovations

Do not forget that bitcoin has long been not only the main scriptactive, there is another Ethereum which is also growing rapidly. People are incredibly motivated investments in the cryptocurrency, as it gives more % than the regular Deposit in the Bank, so if the bitcoin goes down, it is only because of transfusions of money in the altcoins.

Need some spare btc for a new PC

In my opinion, no. People, that are not that much into crypo currencies, are mostly or solely only into bitcoin, paying almost no attention to alt-coin. So, if bitcoin dies by some case, that might open up the path to bigger alt-coins like ETH or LTC for example and people may start implementing various alt-coins depending on the business. Like when the big loaded up heavy truck is going slowly on the road creating a large strip of cars behind him, suddenly when the truck takes a turn, cars just zoom past him.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

It might depend on the reason why Bitcoin can die. In case when the death is due to total ban of Bitcoin as done by all governments or regimes then there is a possibility that Bitcoin death can also mean the death of altcoins. Now, if the reason can be other than that or it is within Bitcoin like losing the appeal from the market then there is a possibility that another coin can rise up to take the vacuum of leadership.

Yes, i agree with you it depends on the reason.
Suppose an exploit was revealed about bitcoin publically and with the same exploit you can rip alt coins also then there's a chance altcoin will be gone but i doubt anything like that will ever happen Grin

I consider bitcoin as the root of a large tree, and altcoin is a branch of a tree. what will happen to the branch when the roots die? Then the twigs will slowly begin to dry and eventually die as well. Bitcoin is now a necessity. Altcoin could have died but bitcoin will still exist, and meet the needs of its users, bitcoin will die if the market dies.
Yes i agree on that i bleieve that if bitcoin die all its branches will goin to die also even if we have notice that if bitcoin fall altcoin will rise but this all  simple thing only turning into the big world or maybe field in cryptocurrency and thier really going to die if bitcoin well die.maybe on this tine arround we can search for another kind of coin for good .however i really do believe that bitcoin will really rise for a decade even if it will not takes forever the important here is the learnings.

most altcoin exchanges are for bitcoin. but that does not mean altcoin fate is determined by bitcoin.
i think if Bitcoin dies, maybe one of the altcoins will be made king, because investors still need criptocurrenccy as an investment asset

Bitcoin is just one of the many blockchain projects out there and if bitcoin were to die today, I do not see a reason why other altcoins should follow it, and for the record bitcoin cryptos of today are now third generation which are nolonger based on being an alternate payment option.

If BTC dies, which it won't, then yes altcoins die as well. I don't know why people think altcoins are not somehow tied to BTC. They think because they created them via an ERC20 toekn on the Ethereum network that they can just exist individually. The thing is that all these other cryptocurrencies are tied to the value of BTC. BTC is the ruler bceause it is sound money that functions on an immutable settlement network.
