We have witnessed several altcoins die along the way and Bitcoin has remained strong and alive.... and If Bitcoin was to die today I see no reason why altcoins should follow this path because afaik they are all independent of each other.

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

The death of Bitcoin will only leave room for the Altcoins to rise. If the king fall, there will be another one to take his place, at least that's how I see things.

If Bitcoin dies, it will definitely affect alt coins to an extend. But alt coins will definitely not die, as firstly they are not built on bitcoin and secondly good alt coins solves problems thus when people use it there is value.

I only think of a limited scenarios in which Altcoins won't die along with Bitcoin and that is when all Bitcoin holders have migrated or shift into the next big cryptocurrency available, but that is of only Bitcoin failed by itself. But if the government have dofferent views otherwise then Bitcoin and other altcoins will die together because Bitcoin is the biggest cryptocurrency in terms of market share, and other are only trading altcoins to earn Bitcoin in the process.

I strongly agree on your opinion that, a limited scenarios in which Altcoins won't die along with Bitcoin and that is when all Bitcoin holders have migrated or shift into the next big cryptocurrency available, but that is of only Bitcoin failed by itself. Adding also my opinion that, I dont think and I dont know if bitcoin will die in the future, but I think its not. because bitcoin is money, money is all we need, and we use money in everything we do in life. so without bitcoin how are we supposed to do transactions online? aside from credit cards. In addition, there are enough alts trying to do completely different things. Many shouldn't be considered currencies or stores of value at all despite having a price tag attached to them.

That is true. If we are talking about probabilities, it is very limited. Despite there is direct correlation between bitcoin and alt coins, there are many alt coins that are serving for people's good. even if some of them will be still remain alive, those will be the service companies imo.

Altcoins don't have an independent existence without Bitcoins. Therefore I don't think that most of the altcoins will be able to survive without Bitcoins. A few such as Ethereum and Ripple may survive.

I never thought that bitcoin would die, because I do not know when bitcoin will die. bitcoin will not die because some are still using bitcoin as their income. nothing will stop bitcoin, even though the government will turn off bitcoin, it will not be done by the government. now that bitcoin has received many in the world so there is such thing as bitcoin die, altcoin die? so you all do not worry about bitcoin?

The bitcoin will never die and neither will the altcoins, since carrying from altcoins to bitcoin does not guarantee that the currency devalues, taking into account that what inflates the value of the altcoins is the purchase and sale; there are people who will always want to stay, but obviously wanting to earn a small percentage, that's why they start selling, and they take it to the bitcoin currency that is the most popular. Once they do, they sell them and, because of that, sometimes their value decreases, however people will continue to invest in altcoins because they are the ones with the most movement, ideal for trade. On the other hand, bitcoins are a bit more stable compared to the altcoins

The death of bitcoin is what no crypospace player could pray for because it is the engine of the crypto community and the oil that fuels the economy. I believe that the survival of most if not all Altcoins depends on the survival of bitcoin. It's only very few Altcoins could survive if the worst in anyway happens.

Many altcoins are depending to the market of bitcoin and if bitcoin will start to be dead then other altcoins will follow. But not all will be dead, there will be some that will survive and will change it's main dependent from BTC/alt it will be USD/alt.

Altcoin will not affect and bitcoin will never die
Altcoin will be affected if there is something wrong happening to bitcoin but I like what you've said with bitcoin.

Yes, The chance of bitcoin will be dying is too low, because it's still a new, I mean not all of people use it for now, so I think it will survive for 10 years or maybe more, Also I think if bitcoin will die, Altcoins will follow that, because bitcoin is the number 1 in the market cap, so when he dying, he will influence to others crypto.

If a specific bitcoin bug causes die, this won't kill other altcoins. But, as you told if governments ban bitcoin completely, this will also be the end of altcoins. People stop buying the illegal things.

This question has a lot of factor and depending on the people whether both dies or someone would stay. It all just depends on the market whether all of the people will going dump their coins whether altcoin or Bitcoin so that someone will obliterate but i don't see it coming because once a market is busy it will never be stop.

If Bitcoin dies, altcoin will also disappear.

For me, altcoin wouldn't die. Though altcoin was based on bitcoin, it's still an independent crypto from BTC, and can survive without it. The only factor that would be in altcoin after that is going to fiat from the altcoin.
