@Swords, I couldn't agree with you more about UX. And with this in mind our revamped site will feature a UX overhaul with the goal of having a straightforward and rigid user experience, life Facebook, that hopefully the less tech-saavy users will feel comfortable using.

I hope you do not drive away your existing tech-saavy users, like those of us who signed up back in the fall of 2011, with a dumbed down, simplified and rigid user experience a la Facebook.

There are those of use who find dumbed down, simplified and rigid interfaces extremely irritating and annoying and have zero use for Facebook.

Lol seems as though it's impossible to please everyone. All I want is a slick single page websockets enabled experience.

One can please both kind of users. Just give the user the choice of the kind of interface they prefer.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Thanks for the reply, and having more options in regards to the interface as Ariticmine pointed out would be good as it is about the overall user experience. (I know when the buttons and layouts change without a revert to old option like Google force feeds users now and then it can annoy users)
Cheers

What is the fee schedule with mastercard withdrawal? How does it differ from debit? Debit had pay per use fees, I'm assuming mastercard does not?

Re: Interface,
The advanced trading options will remain available and we will not be removing any features from the site.  We are working to improve the overall UX to be more welcoming to the Bitcoiners in Training.

Re: Mastercard,

We are confirming the exact numbers and I will update when I have the info.

Thanks.

Please hurry along with Interac Online. That is the piece I am missing for you guys to pull me back from VoS. Once you've had a taste of instant deposits there is just no going back, regardless of the fee difference. It now feels like eternity to get my money into Virtex.

CAVITEX took my BTC without warning ... about 0.1xx ... for 'inactivity fees'

when i signed up- 'inactivity' meant not logging in for 12 months,

then they changed the definition of 'inactivity' ... no warning, no notice, nothing... they just changed the rules.... waited until i deposited BTC, then BOOM ... took it away.

UPDATE: CAvirtex returned my coins and are now giving people warning before issuing inactivity fees.. this is much better!

CAvirtex service just went up 1000x in my books, i have never had any other problems with them so i recommend it to all Canadian bitcoin users.

DarthOne,

I'm sorry to hear about the inactivity fees being charged.   If you feel these were inappropriately charged pleas submit a ticket or call 888-812-2525.  We have reviewed the inactivity fee policy and have amended them to provide multiple alerts before being charged. I agree 2fa needs some improvement and this is something we're working on.

Bob,

Customer service reps work remotely.

Bob,

Customer service reps work remotely at home.

Can you explain in detail a few things for us then?

What information regarding clients is available to your reps who work from home remotely ?

Do they have access to client banking information?

If so, how much of it?

Do they have access to log-in passwords or are able to reset a log-in password?

Good questions!

I've actually had mostly good experience with CaVirtex.. my only actual bad experience was when they took their 'inactivity' fee from me, without warning;

that was not in their policy when i signed up.

I really needed that money Sad

and while I think the $50 a month is a bit excessive, as long as it is in the policy, and you are given fair warning then it is..ok...i guess, the warning is essential though; hard to put trust a company that will change make vital changes in the policy agreement, and fine you based on those changes, without as much as an e-mail.

other than that, CaVirtex has been great.. fast and convenient withdrawal methods! friendly customer service.

I have submitted a ticket to see if my funds will be returned.

ps.

buy and sell?! looking good!

As you know, 1612643 Alberta Inc. operating as CA Virtex, (the "Company") delisted from havelockinvestments.com ("Havelock") effective December 31, 2013, following which all holders of an interest in the Company purchased on Havelock were issued Class "B" Non-Voting Shares in the capital of the Company.  Many shareholders provided their registration details and were subsequently provided with a copy of the share certificate evidencing their Non-Voting Shares.  Part of the registration process was designed to assist the Company in reviewing prior sales of its securities to ensure compliance with applicable securities laws. As the Company has not prepared a prospectus qualifying the distribution of its securities it must comply with applicable exempt financing rules relating to the sale of its shares. This means that each purchaser of the Company's shares must qualify as an "accredited investor". The Company has made attempts to identify accredited investors throughout the registration process.  Many shareholders, however, have not responded to the Company's requests for registration information.  As a result of the difficulty in completing the registration process, the Company has determined to offer (the "Offer") a right of rescission to all of the Class "B" Non-Voting shareholders, without regard to whether or not registration details were previously provided.

The Offer is being made to all Class "B" Non-Voting shareholders on the basis of CAD$0.40 or 0.00070052 BTC per share (the "Offer Price") (or, prior to giving effect to the conversion to Class "B" Non-Voting Shares, the equivalent of CAD$40 or 0.070052 BTC per unit as then listed on Havelock).  Should you exercise your right of rescission, you will receive an amount equal to the Offer Price multiplied by the number of Class "B" shares held by you, payable in BTC or Canadian dollars.  If you elect to be paid in BTC then payment will be made at a fixed exchange rate of CAD$571/BTC.  The Offer Price will be paid without interest or deduction and, in making the election to accept the Offer, you will be deemed to have never been a shareholder or have any other interest or rights in or relating to the Company and you agree to waive any right to pursue the Company at law or in equity for any claim in any jurisdiction against the Company and its officers, directors and employees.  The Offer will remain open for 35 days, until 9/25/2014, 2014 at 4:00PM MST (the "Expiry Time").  Should you choose to not exercise your right of rescission you will remain a Class "B" Non-Voting shareholder of the Company.  To accept the Offer please reply by return email indicating your acceptance of the Offer (in BTC or CAD) and providing the applicable BTC address for payment in BTC. For payment in CAD, you must have a Canadian Bank account and be able to accept and electronic funds transfer credit, you will be provided details on setup when you respond.

Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please reply to this e-mail.

what do you guys think about this

A 50% loss for buyers of the IPO
The initial prospectus price was valued significantly higher 1 Year and 6 months ago

The company should settle its balance sheet at a premium to the havelock price or at least match its IPO for the long term investors in cavirtex.
The buyout offer here should be challenged by the holders in my opinion a 10 dollar fiat premium seems like a total rip for the amount of growth this company has had and its interesting to say the least.

Hmm reading back
Actually the 30 CAD share price is in reference to if CaVirtex is bought out. But there is no indication they are being bought out.
This can't be considered a buy out from that view as this is a share repurchase.

I think I'll be holding thank you very much. This is likely an effort to claim back all the outstanding shares that have not been claimed by their owners - at a serious discount!
