And the hard cap equals the crazy number of  150,000,000 USD.

Yes, you`re right. I also previously have read that ZED Network is self-funded (probably from CEO Alan Safahi), but why then they`ve settled this soft cap number, which is actually equal to the most ICOs hard cap? I can`t find the official info about this in WP or on the web-site, but this number is taken from the several ICO track platforms:

In general, I am always alarmed by information about projects that do not need money, but they spend ICO. I am not talking specifically about ZED, but in general about such cases.

It often means that they have funds for developing the product by naming self-funded. And very often it is used for of the early stage of the development. 
But can You imagine what costs maintaining the product and paying salaries for all workers? Usually, the launch of the product needs costs for its promoting, bounties etc.
And I did not mention yet the listing fees of the biggest exchanges that cost a great sum too.

You'd be surprised, but many ICO are collecting funds with the name sufficient internal funding. This does not mean nothing at all except that the company wants to attract not only the funds of investors, but also attract attention for the mass use of its developments.

I fully support this statement, which complements and does not contradict my statements above. Any project carries a lot of costs in the course of its activities, so it is advisable to have a cash reserve for this purpose.

It seems to me that in such cases it is simply wrong to argue about sufficient self-financing. Sufficient self-financing - when the project does not need to raise funds at all.

Zed Network extended their ICO for one more year. During that time they will launch fully working product. So reaching hardcap won't be  problem.

I think in 2019 cryptocurrency market will start to grow again and good projects will easily reach their caps. ZED Network could become one of them.
