Hi metacoin,

I tried building from my florincoin git clone but I get the following error during make:

src/db.h:15:20: fatal error: db_cxx.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated

I have all of the suggested packages installed, did a qmake before the make. All commands issued from the root florincoin directory.

Have you installed libdb++-dev? More info in this thread.

Or disable UPNP, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80760.0

Have you installed libdb++-dev? More info in this thread.

Or disable UPNP, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80760.0

Got it compiled running:

qmake "USE_UPNP=-"
make

Smiley

So I've got the florincoin-qt file now, is it possible to get a florincoind? I'm on Ubuntu command line so not sure how I can use the GUI, even if I run it through X I still won't be able to use a mouse.

I'm not sure about the gui and mouse input, but you can now use florincoind to issue rpc commands via an rpc client or the command line in the src folder

My block explorer is currently in beta, but it works:

http://florinexchange.com/explorer/

You can view recent messages here.

If you want a simple JSON response from my server with the hashrate, difficulty, and current block count, please make a request to this URL:

http://florinexchange.com/api/

Any suggestions are welcome.

I believe the next.afraid.org pool wrote an incorrect coinbase transaction into the blockchain. The transaction ID is a9a799594ab5e9b7729aaaacf2dd2bd55c878e693e2bc00c9cb46331ca6d9fb5.

http://florinexchange.com/explorer/tx/?txid=a9a799594ab5e9b7729aaaacf2dd2bd55c878e693e2bc00c9cb46331ca6d9fb5

It seems the coin amounts have been divided by 100, and there is a nonstandard vout listed as well (I'm not exactly sure what this means):
Code:
"value" : 0.00000000,
"n" : 6,
"scriptPubKey" : {
"asm" : "9aab71e536d19d4eac0d5fa897e143ffaf2fb9546017023fe3812a036e711f1c03000100",
"hex" : "249aab71e536d19d4eac0d5fa897e143ffaf2fb9546017023fe3812a036e711f1c03000100",
"type" : "nonstandard"
}

I'm wondering how to contact the owner of this pool. Maybe I'll send a Florin message to F83dw8jJ5Gh2tPhStesEJZMoVsAL2Qyg91? Cheesy

What do you mean incorrect?
If it is accepted in the blockchain then it's correct

Incorrect as in there should have been 100 coins and he only wrote a total of 1 coin to the people who trusted him to give them the correct amount of coins in exchange for their hashing power. I didn't mean to insinuate there is a problem with the blockchain, just alerting those who may be using this pool that there is a potential bug in the payout script.

I see
Maybe it's not a pool
If it is a pool, maybe it pays its users assuming 100FLO as a block reward

If not, yes, the users should be concerned

That brings up a good point which I didn't consider. It could be another miner or pool attempting to smear the next.afraid.org pool by writing this transaction, though I think this is unlikely. Is there a way to compare this coinbase transaction or its containing block to other next.afraid.org mined blocks containing correctly distributed coinbase transactions (of which there are many) to determine if it's an attempt to discredit the pool?

I do believe this is a bug in the pool's payout script, but I am interested in learning more about this in the event of a similar but more serious case presenting itself in the future.
