How secure is the wallet?
Best practice for cryptos has always been to have a non-connected wallet with your coins.
Now we have to operate with a large number of coins constantly exposed to the internet.

Yes, sadly your wallet has be unlocked to send PODC updates,
Rob added a feature to be able to have your wallet locked but unlock for the updates every few hours

With GUI Wallet theres a pop up that requests your password for this

The amount depends on the network-difficulty.
The frequency depends on the amount of masternodes.

Yes with increasing of MN # the frequency of payments decrease, but Slovakia is asking about value of reward.
I think, that Togo hit the nail with those reward change with PODC, but it changed a days before.
I was looking on explorer for rewards and it is changing from block to block.
I don't know why. I thought that it is somewat based on current diff, but on explrer it looks that diff is the same, but block reward is still changing.
Now it starts to be interresting for me too, why it is still changing
Is there some formula for block reward?

If there are more masternodes, you will be paid less. The more masternodes, the less.

wrong .... more masternode..... it is not so often a reward

205 blocks/ 186 masternodes= 1.1 reward daily

Hi Orbis, lets teach Slovakia an elementary school lesson - since he learned about Methuselah in 1st Grade - if you have two different sanctuary payments - just provide Two block numbers and say - Why is the sanctuary payment X on this block and Y on this block yet they have the same difficulty?

Post the block numbers and ill check.

Yeah, i understand it better now. I knew he was talking about the amount though but I don't know why he is getting a different amount than I am. I'm guessing it's partly because we got paid on different blocks.

Your obviously right, more than a few hundred K is not recommended to have in a hot running wallet.  For one you can disable the firewall and the RPC port, dont run the wallet on a machine with other standard downloads (IE a shared general use machine that could have a virus on it), you could run it in a virtual machine... But to answer you question, best thing is to do now is encrypt the wallet and use the PODC unlock during boot.  Im not entirely happy with the answer, but the answer is basically the same as what people are doing when they have multiple cold sancs connected to the controller.  All the funds are in the controller.    You can manually boot the controller and run the podc update, and shut down the controller, and do all this from a flash drive potentially.

The individual sanctuary single block payment is still related to the pow_difficulty on the block:

block #36982 pow_diff 3537 Sancpay  4487
block #36731 pow_diff 3114 Sancpay  4904

There were no changes to the payment levels after PODC went live and no changes are planned.

If POW difficulty rises high, sanc payments get lower.


This is primarily because we want to emit less and less of a reward the more we are attacked, to ensure the POW miner gets less and less during the attack.
