my rac with 3 machines is currently ~8000 at 20 bbp/rac that is 160k this means I will get less than 10% reward and will never be able to catch up.. .
I do not have the resources to buy 160k bbp( or any crypto really...). Currently i have 15k from mining
I like the project, and whats behind it. I see consolidation of money in the sanctuaries, most of the rewards from mining already go to others before the "miners" get a cut.
I may have to stop or greatly cut back my mining activities if the 20bbp/rac goes through.
Yes, I don't think there is a new miner who approves , this method can't get the appropriate rewards to pay the miners costs If there are no new investors entering the market, or no new miner join BOINC project to help research on medical projects. Eventually the BBP market will crumble, with only a few old miners or proposal-reward personnel Handheld with a large number of BBP will agree to use 20 BBP / PER RAC mode. Well I'm from the camp that the honeypot should be protected, since the investors money flows in through one stream (investors aren't necessarily miners) - they buy and hold, however miners are sometimes investors but not necessarily. So the inbound revenue is more protected with PODC, 10% is spent on orphans, and with a lot of red-tape and UTXO's and management of PODC devices doing positive work for humanity then you can get your hands on some mined BBP. So in my view this is very positive for the coin. In contrast to a coin where hundreds of thousands are pumping and dumping the mined coins from ASIC devices.

I agree it should be protected, i'm a miner on other coins. I started mining BBP over other things not for personal profit, but for something greater that fits with my beliefs. I worry that the value of the coin will be diminished if the only way to participate requires a large investment. I just don't want to see this coin go top-heavy (like corporations) and weed out the little guys that will help carry/build it up. Less miners is great for those that have the resources.. but reminds me of "rich get richer"... What is the answer? I don't know for sure.

Well, I was a big fan of the BBP/RAC staking requirement instead of BBP/MAG, but 20 definitely seems too high (50k/mag on the other hand is way too low...). Before Rosetta crumbled down I managed to achieve a RAC of approx. 50k. That means I would need a whopping million BBP to maintain my utxoweight. Even if I somehow managed to (someday) collect this amount of BBP, I would feel VERY uncomfortable to leave those coins in a hot wallet permanently connecting to the internet. Even worse, I need this wallet on my tiny ARM machines for "heat mining", where it is permanently unlocked! (I think there was a workaround for linux wallets without GUI to get the "on-demand-unlock", but this never worked for me; maybe I gotta try it once again after Easter Holidays). Will there at least be a workaround, let's say your actual PODC controller wallet doesn't hold all these coins, but transmits a (unique) BBP address that does? what are you talking about? You checking our passwords? Shit secure for BBP then
What are YOU talking about? Calm down and read/think before you write! The PODC Unlock feature does work for both PODC Updates And Heat Mining - Im doing it on my Bible2 server. Yes I know 1 MIL does sort of make me nervous also, the only suggestion I have at this time is the PODC auto-unlock feature. Im not against adding more security in the future, if we can design something solid.

Just to give you a little more insight in the podc auto-unlock and how it works for heat miners: When you boot biblepay with an encrypted wallet, a pop-up modal dialog appears and asks for optional password. We store this in an encrypted-memory-protected securestring (its a c++ object designed to prevent hackers from reading that area of memory on a live executable). Then when your heat miner starts - we check to see if we have the populated string in memory (only if your wallet is encrypted and locked), and when we need to Sign a CPID we do this ONCE while creating a new block: - We unlock the wallet - We sign the cpid - We create the block - We lock the wallet This happens every time the Transaction list in the memory pool changes, so yes, it could happen 10 times per second, (unlock - sign - lock) but the overhead is not that bad considering that our miners run pretty slow now that blocks have to be signed.

Rob, one question.
I installed the latest update 1.1.1.5. After that about 4k BBP went out during the next podc updates.

Could you please check to see if your 'exec getboincinfo' puts you at 1390 BBP for the utxo requirement? BTW, PODCUpdates are sent to you, so you dont actually lose the BBP.

Just to give you a little more insight in the podc auto-unlock and how it works for heat miners:
When you boot biblepay with an encrypted wallet, a pop-up modal dialog appears and asks for optional password. We store this in an encrypted-memory-protected securestring (its a c++ object designed to prevent hackers from reading that area of memory on a live executable).
Then when your heat miner starts - we check to see if we have the populated string in memory (only if your wallet is encrypted and locked), and when we need to Sign a CPID we do this ONCE while creating a new block:
- We unlock the wallet - We sign the cpid - We create the block - We lock the wallet
This happens every time the Transaction list in the memory pool changes, so yes, it could happen 10 times per second, (unlock - sign - lock) but the overhead is not that bad considering that our miners run pretty slow now that blocks have to be signed.
Thanks for the insight, that sounds quite reasonable so far. However, the pop-up dialog only exists on the GUI version, not on the biblepayd version (linux terminal). I remember there was a special exec command in plans for transferring this pop-up function to the headless wallets in linux, but did this ever make its way into the prod versions? If so, could you please remind me of what this command looked like? :-D

Via getboincinfo I see UTXOWeight: 1192 But in config file I manually set utxoamount more than 200k. So the question is why I have now UTXOWeight so low? By the way yes, my BBP amount is still correct. The -4k BBP I can see only via BBP explorer.

Check out the OP post, look for the "1.1.1.4 - Leisure" image, check out how the description changed automagically...
lol@automagically. Never heard of that before Yeah, when I have more time Im going to "attempt" to do a transparent PNG with it and see if you guys can put it on the website also, but right now black isnt going to cut it. That's going on the website. And since it's "automagical" we don't even have to do anything ... lol

The wallet does honor the upcoming voted in changes automatically... So after April 1 it will be increasing the stake amount dynamically.

I like the long term goal of not having the colors of ISIS, and going with the colors of Jesus (Red & Gold), so my second goal is to look at CSS for the pool that links us more consistently to our logo theme colors.

Via getboincinfo I see UTXOWeight: 1192 But in config file I manually set utxoamount more than 200k. So the question is why I have now UTXOWeight so low? By the way yes, my BBP amount is still correct. The -4k BBP I can see only via BBP explorer. On the new version, I changed the key name to 'utxooverride' so that the wallet does the UTXO automatically. If you set that key you can override it. The wallet does honor the upcoming voted in changes automatically... So after April 1 it will be increasing the stake amount dynamically. It means I can delete the utxoamount line from config file am I right? But I still dont know why I have now utxo weight 1192 only. Yes, you can delete and switch over to the new key. Anyway what does your 'exec totalrac' show? Thats how we create the target utxo amount.

This would be my preferred solution as well PM
"Will there at least be a workaround, let's say your actual PODC controller wallet doesn't hold all these coins, but transmits a (unique) BBP address that does?"
No - the BBP must come from the one that is staking and has a signed associated CPID.

Rob, one question.
I installed the latest update 1.1.1.5. After that about 4k BBP went out during the next podc updates.

Right, 1163 is 10% more than you need currently, with the current network rule being 500 BBP per Magnitude. That would jump up tomorrow morning to 232694. EDIT: Also, the rows you show above with '15 bbp' are actually 1178, the 15 is change , so it didnt jump from 15 to 1163, it jumped from 1178 down to 1163.

Hi, so what is the working procedure to make my Rosetta and WCG cross-project IDs the same?
I registered in WCG with the same e-mail address as in Rosetta (and the same login too), already have been running both rosetta and WCG tasks on the same machine for 48 hours and they are still different.
Try to detach the WCG project from your boinc UI, the click Update on RAH, then reattach WCG, then click Update. I went in to a few of my old accounts, and verified that the old ones where my email matches did update to my CPID, so this process should work for everyone. Ensure the case is correct. You dont have any strange symbols in your e-mail address I assume.
