I'm following the same PDF that iDev shows in his liked videos (thanks for the material iDev), and have tried a line by line approach on Ubuntu 17.10 and 16.04 to get the same results. https://imgur.com/a/8JeHmI trying the 16.04 version and magnet-qt-LINUX-xenial.rar advice now. Beside the unnecessary swearing you are right, we encourage people to compile from source but since we provide binaries we should also provide checksums. This will be fixed today. Thanks for pointing that out.

And, in some places of the new wallet still shows the old version number. This could lead to confusion to new users. Devil is in the details

Fixed hours later! Other coins I pointed that out did not react at all. Its such a pathetic disgusting display that I can't help but swear. There will be people getting hacked and their coin stolen because of behavior like this. Especially in this area people should be extra cautious but its just a fact that they do not care. And if the devs do not care its gets even worse. Anyway thanks anyway for at least fixing that so fast. Do you have compile instructions for the GUI wallet for ubuntu 17.10? I have not seen a single coin that offers that. If not can you write it. I tried build boxy recently and failed and gave up.

Hello, we have a tutorial up now on discord inside of Support -> Tech.Support -> check the pinned messages on how to compile the magnet-qt wallet. Beside that are instructions on how to compile the magnetd daemon wallet version and how to speed up the synchronization process using a bootstrap file.

Line by line. If you are under root, you can skip "sudo" at each line.
My friend, thank you from the bottom of my over worked heart. This step has been such a bummer, mining all 10k only to be stopped by configuration. The updates you advised got me through my issues, nothing Magnet related. Can you PM me an address and I'd love to send you 100 MAG or something! This FIXED my issue. Thank you community!! Those command not only work for magnet, but also almost every x11 algo masternode. Thanks for magnet pdf tutorial and repost here so more simple to copas the command Those setup any necessary primary linux file to run a daemon in VPS especially in ubuntu.

Noob here. I just installed the wallet qt.
What values do I put for:
rpcuser=INSERT_YOUR_USERNAME rpcpassword=INSERT_YOUR_PASSWORD
Couple things, considering I was in a similar boat setting up my first MN The video is really helpful, seeing someone do it. Here is the official: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f3GtlreZEkSecond, first time you get to this step, it will suggest a randomly generated code for both. Starting the daemon We initially run the daemon so it creates the initial configuration files: The daemon will print the following error and exit. Error: To use magnetd, you must set a rpcpassword in the configuration file: /home/contact/.magnet/magnet.conf
So the answer is inside the step, or you can make up your own. Just make it good Good luck man
