how come everytime megacoin is on the top of coin choose it gets 1 g/hash of power on it?!

like the other coins that usually hang around the top never see over 400 m/hash even when its like 500% profitability

but every time megacoin is close to the top it suddenely gets a gigahash thrown on it....

so what does this mean? someone with probably more than 500M/hash of hashing power in manipulating megacoin

by these difficulty jumps to take advantage of low difficulty and mine a lot of the coin cause he likes it

or maybe they are trying to sabotage the difficulty by always keeping it high

what do you guys think?

There are a lot of coins that rise to the top of profitability. Megacoin is currently ranked #16 in profitability, and the network hash rate is just over 500 Mh/s. I find it very hard to believe anyone is trying to manipulate Megacoin. I would expect the peak and average hash rates to keep growing. There are a lot of us that dislike the Multi-pool vultures. But as I said previously, I don't think this is a wise strategy. The multi-poolers will get their share of coins much faster, but they are finely divided among the hoard. Those who spent hours in the pools will still get bigger shares of the payouts. Peak difficulty is still pretty low in my opinion. If you think it's tough now, just give it another month.  Grin

Nice offer! Seems that i'am also among those... ;-)

People always argue with the Multipool thing. I think it is not right. A good coin must be able to deal with such a behaviour. There are possibilities, that a coin can adjust in the right way by itself. This is also a chance to differ from all those weak coins... Think about it!?

Like the graphs. Would like to see a denser layout and payment information.
http://mec.epools.org/stats is my favorite interface in pools so far (make an account), but it has low miners.
(also it has *very* quick stats, another reason its my favorite so far.)

got 10 blocks for your pool then had a power outage overnight. will continue mining your pool for a while.

the reward is appreciated.  Wink  MEC: MW6g5VNnixF85Zfb1qqrzqkhG9LPNFv4k8

I think megacoin is here to stay, because of the great website and supporting dev! It is a succesfull coin, at least for me Smiley
Too bad the value dropped so drastically over the past weeks. We need more miners outside the multipool.

One point why Multipool story is successful too, since they have 0% fee... people asking why giving money away? i'd rather donate some coins, than spending some money while automatic payout too.

megacoin has an 24 hr avg of around 250 m/hash

for your theory to be correct there would have to be 900 m/hash on these multipools. but you dont see that kind of hash rate jumping to the most profitable coins.

but even when megacoin is third in profitability you still see the hash rate go above 1 g/hash. SOMEONE IS TARGETING MEGACOIN DIRECTLY

maybe they just really like the coin and want to mine on the lower diffs, who knows. thats speculation at this point

Yes, I am already thinking of ways to improve the site navigation / structure.

Perhaps a Stats link at the top of the page?  In Settings, users can set their preferred coin to view when clicking "Stats" with a radio button.

Thanks, and great work on the site!

I have to disagree.  Whenever multipool.us is primarily mining MEC, I have seen the hash rate on that one pool go well above 1 GH/s.  It almost always happens when that one pool shows MEC as the most profitable and everyone flips over to mine it for a short period.  The nice thing about it is that if you have any outstanding blocks to be confirmed, they are done rapidly.  The not nice thing about it is once the multipoolers switch out to something else, they leave sometimes hundreds of blocks in their wake and only those who stick with mining MEC are left to confirm all their crap.

Ok - to get the ball rolling am offering 1000 MEC to the first 10 unique users who find a block on the pool.
i jumped in in your pool and give it a try. My first impressions:

Pro:
- nice clean interface.
- lots of information
- nice looking graphs

Cons:
- pool fee to high (2%), i advice a maximum of 1% or on donation basis
(- sorting of "Top Hashrates" doesent seem to work properly. at the time i write 792 > 3.694)

- Reduced the fee to 1%
- The hashrates are displayed with a comma - so 3.694 is actually 3,694

Hopped back on, the fee was the only thing keeping me away
