You're making no sense.
The offered solution is not bad, zerocoin will essentially do the same thing. Anonymity will be the priority.
First solution is the one who will prevail, plus it is based on Bitcoin.
What are the chances SR will adopt Megacoin while it already has BTC and it finally can go anonymous?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Sorry to hear you sold at the bottom. You have more privacy, and control of your money with any Crypto currency than you have with a debit card and a bank. Who knows where Megacoin will be in few months, or a year from now...  It could be a big mistake to underestimate it's potential, and our developer.

Or this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279771.0

And btw ZC is not sufficient by itself for total anonymity/privacy.

You want at least combined features of Megacoin/Anoncoin (or zerocoin/anoncoin).

Funny, that's what I like about him the most. He doesn't promise anything, but usually exceeds expectations by a wide margin. Maybe I'm imagining things... If so, being delusional is really fun.  Grin

I believe he is referring to the posts I made in the CoinJoin thread and about lack of HIGH-latency mix-net in the Anoncoin thread (acknowledged by the developers). Buried because I write so many posts.

Dunno - basically I think that you are one of the very few that can deliver a really notable alt. Maybe Kimoto is equally skilled - I would urge him to contact you for some brainstorming or more!

I am trying to make a decision now whether I am capable of delivering such by myself and/or who I could work with (having common goals and design). Difficult to sort out as there are many interdependent technical issues that go much deeper than are even captured entirely by our posts. I could really benefit from someone who is more skilled in crypto algorithms than myself. Also I lack hands-on experience in network programming (even though I understand). I am more skilled on the big picture, extensive decades of s/w development, economics, marketing concerns that effect the technical design. It doesn't mean I can't do an altcoin by myself, but I would have to start from a bitcoin codebase and morph it more slowly along my learning curve.

If you're reading and belive in what the deluded person with only basic understandings of economics is writing, you're deluded and ignorant yourself.

Anoncoin isn't anonymous. Who said that zerocoin is not sufficient by itself for total privacy?
Has anyone used a working zerocoin protocol in a coin to test this assumption? No.
It's all in theory.

I am invalidating some of what I wrote in that post, there is a case where we need a laundry and don't want to use paypal or a credit card, i.e. we want to reveal our identity but not overtly to our bank (or the merchant can't accept paypal) yet we want to delink that back to our public key for our coin.

Anoncoin (over I2P not Tor) is anonymous against most privacy adversaries but potentially not against the traffic analysis (data mining) capabilities of an NSA adversary, since I2P isn't yet HIGH-latency enabled (to defeat timing analysis). Tor may already be a data mining operation of the NSA, because it only does 3 hops and the servers are not all the clients (thus handling a lot of traffic and have to be funded somehow, who do you think is funding the Tor servers? It only takes 1 or 2 or 3 in your onion route to give you away, especially when coupled with traffic timing analysis).

We need to be careful about summarizing at this point, because many issues are still being debated.

About my economics understanding, Moldbug is correct there can only be one cypto-currency remaining at the end, and the reason is the nature of unit-of-account versus store-of-value (specifically see linked point #2), i.e. only the majority will choose. Perhaps there could be others that exist not as the unit-of-account, e.g. ones that are more anonymous but shunned by the majority because they are, yet they will be outcasts/fringe.

Guys I need to stay focused on technical analysis (in technical threads) so I may not be able to follow the discussion here.

His reply is pointless.

Those servers are linked back to your IP address, because the NSA can see all the traffic. Encrypting what is inside your packet doesn't always help, because of timing analysis. Also they can compel by court order the VPNs to turn over logs.

What would the proposed solution to this be though?
You're somewhat right. Well afaik there are a few VPNs that don't release logs even in those situations.

Update: Missed a sentance. If you don't reply it's okay I guess.
Though zerocoin will bring MEC above the other alts pretty much?
