Your cooler seems excessive, the general notion over at the Eu-thread is that the chips like to run hot, Even bitfury himself has stated this. Just for reference Im running mine without fans in 25-33c ambient.

Hm...thanks for the tip.  Odd that it works out that way.  At work and will run a quick test to see when I get back.  Currently however, it seems to be running fine at my pool, but if a couple degrees up will increase the speed, it is an adjustment worth making considering.

These seem to be very efficient chips - nearly as much so as the new 28 nm stuff coming out.   I'm hoping for a useful year, too, because when these aren't cost effective anymore, nothing currently on the market or expected to be on the market this year will be, either.

There is, by replacing the regulator. Atleast one person so far has done this and has reported about 10% gains from it. It does void the warranty and does require a skilled professional to do, but is possible.

We are pretty unhappy with the USPS (supposedly) 2 day delivery.  Admittedly there was a holiday, but we saw a package that left here on Saturday take 5 damn days to reach Ohio.  This is totally bullshit - we dropped the idea of using USPS.  Everything is shipping FedEx.  It costs over $100 to overnight a starter kit, but this is the only reliable way to get these kits to you guys quickly.

Expedited shipping will be FedEx overnight (domestic).  Canada overnight might still work there - I'll check with Yvonne.

Non expedited shipping will be FedEx 2 day.

The problem we ran into is that USPS only guarantees 2 day delivery in "certain zones" - something they didn't bother to tell Yvonne when she was researching this. 

Since Bitcoin mining is a game of days at this point, megabigpower.com will ship FedEx from now on, period.

We still have about 2 days of shipping left to do.  I'm expecting more product tomorrow, but there's been a back up of stuff in AK customs.  It should be cleared by now, but I can't tell by looking at the tracking info.  It says expected delivery tomorrow.

link? I was under the impression that if a board has <16 working chips, it may be possible to overclock the others using the additional headroom provided by not running a chip (ie: 2/16 chips dont work -> 12.5% more power available to working chips. (am i correct on this, can anyone confirm?)

Maybe somebody replaced a resistor and increased the regulator voltage. I don't think there are regulators in the same shape that have higher current capability.

Only if you remove the chip and bridge its spi chain.  If the chip is powered, it's consuming at least idle current, and if it's been configured, it's consuming full hashing current, regardless of how much work it's doing.

Also, the chips aren't going to automatically consume more current and run faster just cause current is available.  You'd need to turn up Vdd (also an advanced maneuver )

extra load? a modern PSU should run safely with minimal load, you just need to bridge the mobo sensor pin to ground to force it to stay on

I have a 730W psu running about 30-40W (modminer FPGA) over only the 12V line, with the always-on hack and its run continuously for about a week no issues

Mine does not turn on with only the m-board hooked up.  I had to connect a dvd-drive to the chain to get it to power up.
