Difficulty spike.. which is why we wanted the new client out.. The retarget is fast, but not fast enough for our liking...

Still, after months of struggling along (and mining at a low difficulty  ) , It's good to see things moving so quickly..

Fendle deserves the credit for this success, he was the one who got us listed on coinchoose... And he didn't have much to do before we hit the exchanges, but he's been working very hard behind the scenes ever since, and developing some great things.. Not that we are doing anymore "coming soon" announcements, because the code is ready when it's ready... You can't say what bugs will need to be squashed..

I beg to differ, Neal.. The actual premine lasted from the 28th of May till the 2nd of September 2013, and consisted of about 16 million coins. It was open to anybody who was intelligent enough to see the potential of SXC.

The 2 million that you refer to was at least partially paid out in bounties.. A common practice that a newcomer such as yourself may not be aware of. I have personally paid out bounties that I had to mine, as I am not the original developer of over 400K, as well as paid BTC from previous mining, to further the interests of the coin. That figure would be somewhat higher, however there are some people who believed so strongly in the coin, they forego a bounty to assist in it's development.

Finally there has not been a massive dump, which is the point of a scam coin. Most miners are holding their SXC or asking reasonable prices for it. There has been a dump of approximately 400 K of which I purchased 284 K for approximately 1 BTC.

I won't argue with you though, I will say that you are obviously relatively new to cryptocurrency, and making presumptions about whether SXC will be further developed into a commericial cryptocurrency, that you or I cannot be sure about ... Time will tell..

Needless to say I accumulated a nice number of coins that I'm not interested in selling. Because of its future use in the porno industry I believe the coin will have the highest value of all alt coins. No more worries of giving your CC # to a porno site, no need to worry if your other half will find a porno site visit on the CC. The future of this coin will be bright.

hashrate bumped up to 144382200 (that's the highest I saw anyway) overnight.  Then when the spike hit, everybody left...  sure could use a faster retarget now...

i don't agree with you on this. Other coins have tried to create a universe (SPT for example) where the developer sells products (gold for example) at a price above market. SXC is the only use specific alt coin in existence today. As such, mainstream adoption will not happen. What will happen is people buying SXC to talk to web girls, to buy porno products, perhaps even to get an escort. It's safer for every party involved: no charge backs, no stolen CCs, no fights with other half, etc. I bet copycat scam coins will appear once they watch the success of SXC. Coins like EscortCoin, WebCamCoin, etc, will appear.

Yeah, we all are having to live with this unfortunate fact. Believe it or not, this coin has A SHITLOAD of history in the short  time its been around. We do know that a lot of this premine WAS distributed as bounties for services. We also know that the holder of this premine hasn't been heard from since early June. This coin nearly died from lack of attention. A few of us were so sold on the potential we grabbed  the dropped ball and started doing some real work on it. So here we are, premine from a possible scammer and all. Nothing we can do about that except work with what we have.

Sorry, I'm bad at expressing my point again.  I understand and agree with all you say.  When I say 'mainstream adoption' in relation to SXC.  I mean mainstream adoption within its target market.  Not widespread mainstream adoption.
Mainstream adoption within its target market means it needs to be accepted by the majority of the industry.  A handful of online stores and cam girls is a great first step, but is nowhere near its full potential.  And just like bitcoin, there is no guarantee that it will ever reach its full potential.  No matter how much we hope or want it to.

The windows client is dead...

Keeps loading infinitely, trying to load ~320640 blocks+

Eg, you can't mine with it, because it never appears to be synced. There is not that many blocks, so something it corrupted in the windows compiled version.

Was a nice coin while it lasted. Sad that it just died...

I'm no expert. But in the first post, there is rpcport=9561, imho port 9560 is for nodes only.

This is true. 9560 allows your client to connect to the block-chain. 9561 allows your miner to talk to your client.

The de-sync issue is our TOP priority. We have a strategy, but the implementation requires a lot of attention to detail and is difficult to test, so it is taking longer than the first fix nomaxpi put out.
