Well I woke up this morning and rig 1 was down..

Funny it, shouldn't have overheated... well lets boot it back up.. hit the switch..

I've been playing with these things since 82' I've seen the "blue flash" of death a few times..

I've never seen the "acrid smoke while spitting bright orange sparks" of death before

Though I am now the proud owner of a very scorched and burnt 7970..

My second card just rolled over and died. No Sparks. No Smoke. Not even a fan squeal.  Just suddenly.....nothing.

Yeap, thats the way it should be.. maybe some misbehaving first, I've got one card that hashs SHA256, but not scrypt...

I've had two systems FLASH out, full shooting flames, acrid smoke... Both times, it was voltage regulator and capacitors on 7950 cards...

I was so happy I had spare cards on hand, and got the systems back up right quick, and was able to RMA the dead cards.

RC1 looks like a winner.

We are asking everyone that has a pool, or an exchange ( or both ) to switch to 0.6.4.1-RC1. I understand the client releases are very aggressive, and I apologize if you feel like you haven't had time to react, but these changes really needed to be made.

We are also asking everyone that can switch to RC1, please do so.

Sexcoin-0.6.4.1-RC1 addresses the desync issue, and also has code that will change our difficulty retarget time from 8 hours to 30 minutes. Also, it refuses connections from client 0.6.3, but still talks to 0.6.3.1.

Sexcoin-0.6.4.1 is going to be the official client. It will refuse to talk to 0.6.3.1, this is necessary to accomplish redefining the retarget time.

After we have a good base of RC1 in we can start switching everyone to 0.6.4.1

Yes. RC1 is acting as a 'bridge'.
RC1 still accepts connections from 0.6.3.1.
0.6.4.1 will not talk to 0.6.3.1.
So, we need the pools and as large of a base on RC1 as we can get while people are switching to 0.6.4.1, that way people can have some time to switch.

At the end of the day, we need everyone on 0.6.4.1.

I'm pushing 0.6.4.1 binaries up later today.
