Update: As shown the correction occurred at roughly 20k on Bitfiniex, approximately 8k USD more than when this was posted. But the correction is occurring, just like 2013

Update #2

Now, we are entering a second bull-rush period, followed by potentially a third, before the steady recession. Bitcoin is nearly repeating the same pattern it did 4 years ago. History always repeats itself.

Update #3

This is my final update to this thread. The final drop-off before a steady recession is occurring. I couldn't tell you were the markets are going, but the correction did occur (or is ongoing), at this point it seems safe to say it will continue along the same trend as 2014. Some would claim it's because of the news revolving around Bitcoin (china, korea... etc), i personally say it's the natural order to these markets.

Note: I'm not using any tech analysis, this is just pure intuition/pattern recognition. It's best to observe Bitcoin's behavior in the past to predict it's future, then applying real-world tech techniques. This thread was for fun.

Welcome to Bitcoin, yes it already goes up and then crashes...remember when it went up from $.18 to $.65 ...then crashed down to $.20...then another time it went all the way to $120 then crashed down to $28...then it went all the way to $1200 and then crashed down to $200...etc...

The question is how grand this correction is going to be! Most of us know it is going to happen, but what we don't know is what is going to be the trigger for this huge pop of the bubble. Could it be Christmas shopping or new legislation? Who knows

Why you expecting the crash bro. Sure we will find the best growth in the price chart. We found the price going up from the past one enormously and it is being settled around the 12k plus in the chart now.
To find the crash in the chart, this is not a centralized currency or being control by the whale to make the changes by the share holders. This is how economical whales changes the share value in the chart. Here bitcoin is not controlled by anyone dude.

LOL! I've heard of this nonsense of "the bubble is going to burst" since Bitcoin was only worth $100.

It will indeed have a price correction (it's very much overbought today) but that's hardly a "bubble that is going to burst".

Live with it.... Bitcoin is HERE TO STAY and especially GROW STRONGER.

and those bubbles have busted every time, until there was a new major growth indication, mostly led by volume and etc. Those downfalls lasted many months.

No one here is talking about the longevity or the regrowth to new heights, we are talking about the current climate.

That does not make sense at all, the most important question is if altcoins also fall  Shocked I think yes because they are also overbought now.

It's all just perspective. Even if btc goes down 90% from here (from 13000 to 1300) we are still up from a year ago. You have to read "How I stopped worrying about price and learned to just love the technology."

I would not mind a correction as I want to buy a bitcoin at some stage. There is some interesting predictions for the future value of bitcoins. My focus is on ALTs but would be nice to have one bitcoin in the portfolio.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.

I saw a lot of doom callers while the bubble from 1k to 10k USD. All posted some graphs with a huge spike and they said this is going to be the end Cheesy And bitcoin just climbed more! Lets see how long this correction will hold on.

So, you are saying in other words exactly what I am saying my friend. What you are calling "all those bubbles have burst every time" were nothing else than price corrections.

That's what I also agree 100% will happen.

But "a bubble that bursts" is an entirely different thing.. it means a CRASH BEYOND RECOVERY, just like a literal bubble that bursts DISAPPEARS forever.

Hence, price correction? Yes, it will indeed happen as Bitcoin is badly overbought and all the indicators show that it is due for a correction.

Bubble bursting (as in "total crash beyond recovery" as explained above) ? No way, it's not going to happen.

What if not? A lot of people are selling and expecting this correction, and if whales have enough appetite to eat them all - there will be no correction, to everyone's surprise.

Yes, I also see that many people sell at the top of the price. And I'm surprised that whales have such an appetite. If the price does not correlate, it will be another confirmation that bitcoin is something else that does not lend itself to any laws of the economy and the financial market.

There will still be a correction if that happens but it will be not that big of a dip if whales plan to buy all those sell orders when that times comes. Still, I think what OP has said is possible and bitcoin might at least go back to 3000$ because BITCOIN HAS BEEN ON A PROLONGED GROWTH PERIOD ALREADY WITH ONLY LEGALIZATION AND SOME POSITIVE NEWS AS SUPPORT and it is impossible for it to always go up and only have little corrections, it won't be healthy for btc if it continues like this.

Of course there'll be a correction or a crash... but I want to hear someone brave enough to say when.  Every free market has a rise and correction... so there's nothing insightful about warning of crashes.  People were saying bitcoin was going to correct at $5000, saying it couldn't get much higher.  Then at $6000, $7000, etc...

Show me someone who'll say, "bitcoin is going to correct in two weeks by 40%."  Now that is bold and insightful.

I think the correction, it there will be one in short time, will not be huge, demand is so high..... personally I buy (and then hold) everytime I see a decrease more than 5-7% for a day...

When you talk about the economy and you say the bubble burst you don't normally mean the country will never recover, so I don't see why people think when someone says bitcoin bubble bursting should mean the end of it. It's more like saying the price will crash and the currency will enter a protracted bear market.

Let that bubble burst if you believe that bitcoin is a bubble. This has been said thousand times and look on where bitcoin is, still thinking that bitcoin is a bubble? Comparing the chart from few years ago? You can have that technical analysis and comparison but we had different thoughts about bitcoin. If bitcoin is a bubble from this years mid run it should pop but what happened, it didn't. So when it reached $14,000 , $15,000 - $20,000 - $100,000 - $1,000,000 it is still a bubble?

Charts and technical analysis just doesn't work in Bitcoin so far, in particular the most recent run after it's hitting 11k. We used to have a correction of Bitcoin after a sharp spike, not happening so far. What I worried is whether there will be a much bigger correction coming soon after the futures market are open. Anyway, if it did happen, it's an opportunity to get back on the train again, I got off far too early Smiley.

Even in this topic, opinions are divided. The brain understands that constant growth without an economic reason is not possible, by the rules of the market will correlate. But the eyes see that the price goes higher and higher and higher. And the eyes do not believe the brain, because the growth is frenzied. I'm not an expert, but in my opinion in January there will be a 30% drop. Big investors can not always buy coins, which hundreds enter the market.

In my opinion, it will take some time. I believe that until the end of 2018 Bitcoin will grow even stronger and will be worth more than $ 15,000, and what will happen next year will be a specimen.

The "bubble" may happen so fast that maybe we won't have the time to see it and do any interaction. There is so strong demand of Bitcoin that i think it won't crash so easily now. Look at when Bitcoin was $11000. It did go a little down, but just for 1 or 2 hours! We all hope to be able to buy Bitcoin at a lower price. But we maybe not have the occasion to do it... The crash should be enormous and the demand should slow down if you want to see a bubble i think.

Well if it is a bubble why bitcoin is still rising until this day? Yes i admit bitcoin's price rose very quick and i don't know whatever the reason of the very huge boost but i do kow the there will be a price correction sometime in 2018 but I am worried on how huge will be lost on bitcoin 50%? 60% this is my speculation on how huge the correction will be if the correction happens although it will be a good opportunity to buy bitcoins though

I don't know either, I'm really tired of seeing people that are arguing about bitcoin is a bubble. There are also thread and articles that has been created to damage the reputation of bitcoin since then for years. But they have their own freedom of speech to express their thoughts about bitcoin, if they think that it is let them be and I won't stop them with their views and opinions about bitcoin.

The bitcoin-bubble will not burst. Soon it will be blown off a bit. Maybe 20-30 percent. And then it will start to inflate again. Everyone can call a crypto currency a bubble, but it will not make it worse

Always see this kind of post of FUD everytime bitcoin rallies, It's normal if bitcoin price correct but calling it a bubble don't think so that will burst and crash don't think so. Price of bitcoin is volatile but as of now we cannot really tell why all this rally happening and it's scary but I don't think it's a bubble, maybe more people now are into bitcoin that's why the demand is high.

The symptoms relating back to the 2013 crash are just to tied together.

The spike and (pending) correction all happened in the same months as it is now for fucks sake.

Always doubt.

Welcome to Bitcoin, yes it already goes up and then crashes...remember when it went up from $.18 to $.65 ...then crashed down to $.20...then another time it went all the way to $120 then crashed down to $28...then it went all the way to $1200 and then crashed down to $200...etc...

But after every crash/correction the price is still much higher than before the crash. And then it starts to rise again. Wink

In my opinion, it will take some time. I believe that until the end of 2018 Bitcoin will grow even stronger and will be worth more than $ 15,000, and what will happen next year will be a specimen.

When I look at the graph I cannot even imagine what kind of games those big whales are playing. I just wish we (retail traders, investers) won't stay under them while they are fighting each other. To be honest, every day it is becomng more scary. I wish it was growing slowly, naturally and not like this.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.

I think we are all expecting a big correction at some point. And there have been plenty before, so it won't be unprecedented. The question is how far will it rise first, and for how long will it rise. $20k ? $50k ?

Bitcoin will fall hard at some point, but it will not disappear. It always rises again.

Bitcoin is on a rise for sure, surpassing 17k with ease. I dont think it's in a bubble right now. It can go to 20k by end of the year, and it's also predicted it will go to 50K by 2018.

After a long increase in price there has to be a decrease also, but that might not be the case. Maybe it will get stabilized at a constant price but i guess we'll see

Its not a bubble. Its actually safer than the USD or Euro. The reason is that there is a limitted supply. With FIAT they hjust print more. This connot be done with Bitcoin.

I am not sure if it can be called as bubble because this is kinda in bitcoin's nature now. It goes above expectations and then crashes . This is like a circle now and it is more guessable now. Bitcoin rises and altcoins fall then bitcoins sharply fall and altcoins rise. I am waiting bitcoin to fall again to buy some bitcoin to prepare for next rise.

A big correction is surely due. Right now Bitcoin is running like an uncontrolled train which might derail anytime. Right now its just the bulls taking the market up, but eventually it will come to rest, at least for some time!

I am suspecting also this idea due to Bitcoin's bubble in full throttle that surely will create opposite reaction any day from now.
Bitcoin's sudden price surge this month isn't good at all because this due will prove that Bitcoin's volatility will be higher and every investors and owners must be ready if worst correction will come on way. Bitcoin's trend this month is the center of the eyes of financial institutions across the globe.

When that event will occur, everyone will be desperately freak out because they're almost become rich and millionaire that which Bitcoin is the only thing that could give them good money than investing on local businesses.
I know that day will come and I hope everyone will be calm because as the history of Bitcoin bubble when there's a correction then after few days it will get back and rise again surpassing the highest value before the drop.

It is referred as a bubble because of its paraphernalia surrounding it. It is internet based, accessed through the internet, not touched nor felt unlike fiat. This is what the economist refer as bubble and so might not stand the taste of time.

Meanwhile, bitcoin has by far been valued above all fiats, be it dollar, Euro nor pounds.

Today Bitcoin isn't used ideally what supposedly the Crypto-Currency that has been design for products and services payments but instead people are buying it like collecting a jewelry or a precious Gem that is buy, collect and keep instead of circulating it to be used as monetary or any other purposes that used to be the cyrpto-currency description since Bitcoin was introduced back in 2009.

bubble going to burst will not happen in bitcoin
i use bitcoin for a long time bitcoin community is growing stonger and stonger
there a lot of speculation that it going to burst but it not happen and they just waste their chance
price drop is natural in crypto even it drop so low it will go up again and again thats what i always see in bitcoin
i just use bitcoin as currency if it go high i will be happy and cash out some if drop i will still cash out if i need some cash

It's a very correct name - the grand correction, I like it. I guess it will be the most harmful and deep correction ever. According to other BTC corrections (up to 50%) the price could reduce down to 8500.

I'm not too sure about your "grand correction". I think more and more that we will see some flash crashes like the one happening at the moment (from 17k to 14k then back to 15.5k) but within a few hours, Bitcoin will recover and will get even stronger. Bitcoin doesn't give a shit anymore about fundamentals. That's why Fundamental Analysis and technical analysis aren't relevant.

We have seen this before (obviously not on this scale) where BTC has risen but then dropped considerably. i believe a couple months into 2018 we will see a drop before it stabilizes again.

The bubble will burst sooner or later but it depends on the impact of the burst whether BTC will be able to recover it or not. Bitcoin has recovered every drop it has suffered but the ultimate drop " The bubble burst" will show us how strong Bitcoin is and whether it has a future or not.
I hope the bubble bursts after 4-5 years at least so that we all could make a hefty profit out of it.

We've seen this comment for far too long and where did this lead us? Bitcoin is stronger than ever. It has reached far from anyone ever imagined it. There may be times when the value decreases due to corrections but i don't think it will turn out to be like a bubble.

All of the cryptocurrencies have very fluctuate price situations. So, basically, this is not the meaning of that, all the cryptocurrencies are bubble. And also it is valid for bitcoin too.

Stronger ? The main network is unusuable, exchange are down, you can't withdrawal shit, there is a panic buy, we're going to a big crash and it's needed, tired of this exponential growth the tech is not ready yet.

Bitcoin will never officially "burst" for good. It's uses will just steer a different way. Soon I think it will be used for a place to store money for the long term and not so much day to day micro-transactions. Another ALT will take the transaction job. BTC is the tank in the background.

It will burst eventually, the point in that happening is not now since it did not climax yet. The coin is still too new.

Bitcoin has risen sharply but I think the current bitcoin bubble has not broken. If bitcoins are on some US stocks bitcoins will be stable and bubble bursts will not occur in the near future.

It may make a deep correction, yes, but I don't think Bitcoin will crash all the way back down as a lot of support is behind it.

The question is how grand this correction is going to be! Most of us know it is going to happen, but what we don't know is what is going to be the trigger for this huge pop of the bubble. Could it be Christmas shopping or new legislation? Who knows

Christmas season could be one of the factor. Hihi. But, there are soon-to-come forks of Bitcoin, so maybe after that the bubble will burst like a bomb.

Well, there have been forks before and they didn't cause Bitcoin to crash or burst. Nothing beats a coin that almost everyone in Crypto invests in.

It probably will happen in the distant future especially if one of these Coins come up with a game-changing feature that Bitcoin can't offer.

Why does people always wait for the drop??and why in every pump of bitcoin they are expecting a crash??I think what is happening today is a result of continuous popularity of bitcoin since many people get to know about cryptos and the idea of earning them many wants to hold bitcoin which resulting to high demand and because of bitcoin limited supply the price needs to be adjust that's all..its not a bubble!

Don't worry just as corrections are healthy, there will always be bashers who would wish to see the successful Coins crumble. It's perfectly normal.

It seems that bitkoyn breaks even the most optimistic forecasts about his course. Until recently, it was predicted that bitkoyn, perhaps by the end of the year will reach $ 15,000. When he approached $ 18,000, they began talking about a possible deep correction, down to a drop of $ 10,000. Now, according to CoinMarketCap, the bitkoy rate is 19 709 dollars. Thus, only in the middle of December bitkoyn closely approached the rate of 20 000 dollars. And before the New Year, another two weeks. And it seems that bitkoyn his correction of the course has already passed. when recently fell a little in its value.

Bitcoin can't crash, ppl believe in it too much and are used to the volatility. IF it would drop 90% in a day due to some manipulation, everyone would buy like crazies.

Exactly, there are a lot of people who just waiting to finally see a crash to buy cheap. Maybe we will see a deep correction with 50% - 70% in the coming weeks, but hell is this an opportunity to rebuy. On the other hand, if this happens when we already approached 40k this would be just a correction to where we are now.

It's funny to comment this thread now that bitcoin is roughly 20k, when OP was claiming a necessary correction at 12k.

It goes up because new money is pouring into this world. Those 600b dollar and increasing is coming from somewhere. Hypothetical it could be the normal stock market that gets a correction when losing those money from their market.

This topic has been discussed forever.

Looking at charts can't tell you anything.

- Supply is always going down.
- With more people know and invest in bitcoin. Supply can't satisfy demand.

I think two factors defines bitcoin future.

- Real world application. We have to show bitcoin and altcoins really work!!!
- This is more like a bottom up revolution. People with open mind (a small portion of the world) take on bitcoin first and then we get all these doubt from all other people. It takes time for them to realize this is the future.

If everyone thinks Bitcoin is a bubble, then it's best not to invest because it's the most risky market and you can lose all your assets at any time. My advice should set your target before selling it all

A very experienced trader said on Twitter that it is not a bubble. You better see it as a mania, a bitcoin mania.
Saying it is going to burst means it is going to disapear. Do you really believe bitcoin is going to disapear? No, there will be a correction, that's it.

I don't agree with you, and I think bitcoin will continue to rise this year, and then at the end of the year, when the bubble bursts, at least half a year in advance.

Bitcoin is correcting all the time... It´s now 19.000 expect it can go down probably to 17.000 or a bit less in some days...

i don´t see many people willing to sell Bitcoin for 8000 or 10000... when they can wait and sell it for 30000 or more after the recover... The true winners in this game are the strong hands and more people know that this days because we have records and history.. in a bubble crash (wich should happend only after bad events like a big hack of a big exchange or country regulation agains BTC, etc), many investors will choose to hold and go for the long term...

Correction in bitcoin will be very soon. Everyone knows that there is no constant growth. But how much bitcoin will be corrected is another matter. But the fact that it will later grow in value to its former heights and even higher is a fact.

In my opinion, bitkoyn does not adhere to any growth in its growth. It exists and develops according to some special plan, which is not always amenable to logic. Recently it has reached record heights and for a long time there have been talks about its possible deep correction, but bitkoyn does not go down a bit and does not last long and then it grows again at such a rate that it scares many and many people call it because of this bubble.

Be sure - in any case there will be a lot of dissertations about the topic. Afterwards. As always afterwards. The only thing we can be sure in - if it become (now it is not) a bubble and it crash it will happen suddenly. That's trait of all "bubble" situation on the markets.
Now - what are the bubbles, Tulip bubble, GD, Dotcom? Overestimated values. Is BTC overestimated now? Nobody can answer. BTC do not have calculated future expectations like shares during GD and Dotcom. Like nobody knows how blockchain tech will change the world, but everybody understand it will. BTC cannot be compared to "tulip" types of bubbles 'cause it's deflationary nature. But as time goes by the "essence" of the "first crypto" can leave BTC step by step.
So it is not a bubble today. It will not be a bubble tomorrow. Because all of the previous bubbles had another trait in common. Mass public. That very shoe cleaner from the legend. They are still not here. But they are coming. Winter is near. Grin

I am really not sure about this. In these days I hear a lot of comments about investing in bitcoin, from people that have never traded. And the permanent reports of new highs in TV and newspaper is suspicious. The hype is real. It is over the top. Nobody is even speaking about loosing money in this market.
Not a bubble. But a big correction is coming for sure. Nothing goes up forever. The parabolic uprise is clearly noticeable in every chart. Look at 6 Month BTC. Pferfect sharp flagpole.

I have already sold a lot and stay with an amount what I can afford to loose Wink Because if it crashes, nobody gets out.

Yes I ave noticed as well that many people are jumping because of the quick rich scheme, we might see correction but in my opinion for the long run we "should be safe" market cap of all cryptocurrency is still low  $606,910,375,905 at this moment compared to coinmarketcap.com , it's not even few trillion dollars... I see it as some kind of a bubble but I see it like a bubble for like 1.5y+ now that it is going like that. Correction might occur but cryptocurrency overall have bright future (if some countries don't start to ban exchanges).

Why people always said that bitcoin is a bubble, are they ignore that bitcoin and bkockchain technology is the best invention in this century?. Bitcoin and blockchain technology will make our life is easier. So its not a bubble.

Those people are afraid to get rich immediately. LOL Maybe they were a victim of scam before. haha

Bitcoin`s bubble is going to burst, but when i am hearing this from last 18 months and more? Bitcoin bubble is increasing in size daily, who is pumping this bubble? Correction in price is the most important part in development of any currency. It helps the currency to remain healthy. Bitcoin have show many correction, starting from $0.06 in 2006 to $979 in Nov 2013, again it has fallen to $239 Feb 2016, and now it has stabilised near $18000. Bitcoin is showing constant grown since last 7 years. If it is a bubble why so many investors are investing in it from such a long period?

Yes, every time BTC rises there are plenty of opinion that this one (oh, this one for sure) is the last rise and every BTC owner will loose everything tomorrow. No, not tomorrow, they'll loose everything right now. It's envy, I think

Here I will absolutely disagree with you. Dotcom bubble took place when fiat $ was not so diluted with inflation as today. Mostly this bubble was inside economy of the US, still before the collapse this market cost several dozens of trillions (30? too lazy to google, by the way google also dotcom member, remember). It thrills doesn't it? Why people carried money there (well one of the reasons)? Because as anyone can find in the stats wholesale and retail through internet were among 5 main economical locomotives of IT era. That was new and real. And was overpriced and bummmmmmm. How do we know it was overpriced? Because everybody can count - Apple must have the same profit for 500600700800 years to pay that price for the shares. We had statistics of their profit. We knew about this economy.

Now do you see the influence of the blockchain tech in the future well...... 10 years? If you do you R a Genius and I want to buy your predictions (if you show your fulfilled ones). Nobody knows. Shares can be multiplied - BTC cannot.

Then please pay attention to one moment. Dotcom crashed. Apple still here. IBM, Oracle, Amazon, Ebay - those still here too. There is bubble and there is value. Our goal is to divide them.

It's all just perspective. Even if btc goes down 90% from here (from 13000 to 1300) we are still up from a year ago. You have to read "How I stopped worrying about price and learned to just love the technology."

I like this way of thinking. I have really been thinking about what "money" actually is recently as this insane rise keeps going. It is almost as if people are rejecting fiat curreny, governments, capitalism, coprorations, etc.. and forcing a new better way of doing things down the the worlds throat.

What a time to be alive!!!

I think people don't open their mind to the new technology which we know will bring something new for us and might help our life to be better. but I admitted that now after the price is climbing, people amaze and they finally want to join with this. I don't think that bitcoin is a bubble and I think it just for some people that will think that bitcoin is too risky for them and I think they will give a bad opinion about bitcoin.

This is just a baseless prediction. Bitcoin has an 8 years development history. there are many many predictions which said that Bitcoin will burst. But until now, Bitcoin still grows and continues in the future.

It seems to me that while bitkoyn not fall down for correction. This can be judged by its current behavior, and by the presence of certain factors for its further growth in price. First of all, now seven of his forks are starting to be held, which will continue until the beginning of January. Therefore, people will be interested in investing in bitcoins to get loose coins. Perhaps, this will also be affected by the trade in Bitcoin futures. In addition, since January, the project "lightning" will begin to work in bitcoins, which solves almost all the issues that have become urgent with him and eliminate his shortcomings.

Now many people say that within a week or a maximum of two there will be a correlation of the bitcoin price. Even if the price goes down, by January it will rise again. Futures cost 17,000 for January, and for February 18,000. So this is insurance. And it does not seem that there was a noticeable decline in interest in bitcoin.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.

Not right now, the coin is just getting new money into Bitcoin so the price is about to go up very soon.

It is indeed expected to dump very soon but I am not sure how much. Can anyone here estimate how much percentage bitcoin usually drop after an all time high? I really hope that is wouldn't be greater than 25%.

possibly! As soon as confidence in the bitcoin  is shaken, a fear could sweep through investors leading to bitcoin’s collapse.

One false move of our big investors can make the bitcoin burst. I guess its up to the whales and sharks of bitcoin. Once bitcoin is shaken it would cause panic to everyone.

The market is very overheated right now. There will be correction for sure, but nobody knows when exactly and how deep/long. I suppose the current BTC correction is just the local one.

It might be look like that, but as we can see bitcoins became stronger since the beginning and always be stronger since we see and experience its potential from ups and downs. It surely will face its correction  but it doesn't mean like a bubble burst

It may or may not happen, bitcoin price is very volatile. Correction will happen but calling it a bubble every time it hits all time high really doesnt makes sense to me anymore, this is my opinion. Everytime bitcoin rally , I always see this kind of post or news. that "Bitcoin is in bubble and will soon burst", Just kinda funny how someone so confident to tell that bitcoin is indeed in a bubble without concrete basis. We all know though that everything has it's end but we don't know when. It's just a matter of time but no one can really tell.

Bitcoins is for sure a bubble but the question really is, when it will burst? With its standing right now in the market, I'd say it has still more years to live.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.

Time will show everything, correction will be necessary, the only question is how much the drawdown will be. Great changes were 2-3, when the gap was simply staggering. And now we see that everything is normal, there is movement.

Welcome to Bitcoin, yes it already goes up and then crashes...remember when it went up from $.18 to $.65 ...then crashed down to $.20...then another time it went all the way to $120 then crashed down to $28...then it went all the way to $1200 and then crashed down to $200...etc...
if it bursts expect it to boom again

Right. If those anti-bitcoin will not stop spreading FUD and making "bubble statements" then we should not stop to counter it. They say it will burst now but btc stabilizes instead.

Of course there'll be a correction or a crash,  I want to hear someone brave enough to say when. Show me someone who'll say,
"bitcoin is going to correct in two weeks by 40%."  Now that is bold and insightful. Every free market has a rise and correction.
so there's nothing insightful about warning of crashes.  People were saying bitcoin was going to correct at $5000, saying it couldn't get much higher.

I think it will take some time. I believe that until the end of 2018 Bitcoin will grow even stronger and will be worth more than $ 15,000, and what will happen next year will be a surprise.

i think bitcoin will burst if its value can reach  really really high lets say 1million dollars or also if the supply of bitcoins has run out, then it could probably burst but based on the current situation right now bitcoin will not yet burst because bitcoin is currently on its honey moon phase therfor it can still go a long run. yet there were still many alternative coins out there to choose from if bitcoin will end or vanished someday because of this bubble controversy.

I don't think the supply of bitcoin will run out. To think of it, bitcoin is just a digital currency. Will bitcoin burst?, yes but not because of supply shortage.

It doesnt look like a bubble anymore though. Yes it was on a non-stop rise but it seems to stabilizing now. $20K was a high amount but now it looks like it's stabilized at $17-18K mark. Bitcoin is taking a nap while Altcoins take over the show abit, and we see coins like Ripple and Ethereum taking over.

the thing is though that every day more and more people that have never owned any crypto are buying into bitcoin so as long as the demand keeps increasing than it won't be popping anytime soon at all. All the corrections that these so called experts talk about are a thing of the past, just before this huge rise they were all saying that it was going to pop at 7k. I think it's going to hit 50k sometime soon because i even hear people at work talking about btc now that are not even into crypto. Companies in Japan are giving out bitcoin bonuses to employees as an extra gift for there hard work all year, does that sound like a bubble about to burst to you?

haha, why can you just look at the chart and give the useless prediction? Bitcoin has own value and it is the king of coin. There is no thing can make it die.

Well graph of growth per price per fiat currency shows us that it looks like a bubble. Why I say that? Because from the past like 3 months it is grown like never before and line went straight up! Media did their job here and are still doing great job by advertising bitcoin like everyday I hear about it. Even ordinary people started to talk about it - which can be can raise some thoughts about the bubble. Maybe this bubble is small compared to housing bubble or dot com bubble, but you can see exponetial growth and many new people entering in need to earn more money. Bitcoin and other alts need to break through this phase it is healthy in a sence that more people are starting to read what are cryptocurrencies in gerneral.

Bitcoin is simply not worth that money as it is now, because it can't cope with simple problem - transaction fees and confirmation time, thats why we have seen nice growth of many other altcoins because people buy BTC and see that its not functioning and they are trying to divide "their investments" into alts where you can really get rich quicker if you time the market well. Thats why you are right there "alts are slowly taking over" as they offer better features than bitcoin until and when we get LN, thing is that most people will ask you what are your holdings in bitcoin, not what are your holdings in dash, ethereum etc. As being the first it will stay but not sure for how long if something doesn't change. BTC is expensive for people that want to own 1 or more and they are trying to find next big thing in alts.

Many people enter bitcoin not because they want to use it but because of money they can gain which is why it is dangereus. Good thing is that it is on GLOBAL scale, which means that we might not be at the top phase. Its all unstable and can crush, but it doesn't mean it will. It is something different than stocks since this was disigned to have real purpose - to be a currency but many people see it as speculative asset.

It looks like a bubble to me tbh, but lets wait and see, for the long run we should be okay I guess.

Bitcoins is indeed falling hard this time and i am kinda nervous because of that thing it is kinda alarming too. But i am putting all my trust in that thing and i am just taking that opportunity as an positive thing i buy bitcoins more because i know that before this year ends the bitcoins will rise again and that time i will probably gonna secured my money but still i will save enough bitcoins in case that bitcoins will still pump a lot

Bitcoin has experienced these like most of the time. The fact that it endured these kind of events made it stronger and more valuable. Its value is getting so unstable and decreases right now, but we have already seen this happening before and there is nothing new to this, it will still rise and people will go crazy about it.

I see this as correction.
I believe this is caused by network spam, FUD and BCH. We had the same situation recently, right?
Besides, i see big difference in price on some exchanges, for example on yobit 1btc is nearly $18K while on polo it is $16.4K. Time to buy.

I dont think bitcoin's up move is bubble because now a days more and more countries accepting bitcoin and bitcoin's demand increasing huge so bitcoin going high and high and also technically bitcoin need a small correction so that other investor can enter in bitcoin, and also bitcoin is the mother currency of all coins. And also as bitcoin will remains stable for sometimes , its good for up move.

If bitcoin was in a bubble then i would think it would of popped quite some time ago. It looks like its stopped rising in price but im quite confident also that it will rise to $20K again and from there higher.

Things dont look too good for Bitcoin right now, it's heading for a dip, but how long will this carry on.
Altcoins are taking advantage of this situation and rising steadily.

Some say it is a bubble, other say its not, but no one can see the future so we will just have to wait and see. The rise in 2017 is extreme, everything is pumping, hopefully the bear market does not come soon Smiley

The bubble is not even inflated yet to burst! We are going towards 100,000 USD per coin before 2018 and then 1 Million a coin. Bitcoin is going to revolutionize the world for good. To answer to your ques, yes, there will be a correction but btc will come out of it even stronger than it is now.

What if not? A lot of people are selling and expecting this correction, and if whales have enough appetite to eat them all - there will be no correction, to everyone's surprise.

That's quite possible. There are so many new people entering the crypto market, that most exchanges are having huge delays (several weeks) with approving registrations and some of them even temporarily disabled them as they can't process so many people. There's an avalanche of new buyers trying to get in. So if there will be some correction, it will be bought up very quickly.

A bubble for a year already. Probaly a bubble in another year.

BUT WARNING: ITS A BUBBLE! ...OKAY?

(newspaper in 30 years: Dont invest in bitcoin bubble! Risky investment as bitcoin just dropped below 330.000 dollar! - experts say.)

I don't think so. Calling Bitcoin a bursting bubble is insult of Bitcoin in itself. If Bitcoin bubble burst ? Whole crypto globe will burst with it. That's the same thing I heard when Bitcoin reached $ 6000 but I think it's not going to happen. Biggest market cap Bitcoin has. Investors, even general public believe in Bitcoin. I'm not a future predictor after all but this is something I can feel. Bitcoin will grow, grow and grow.

Even if this was true and the "bubble" was to burst anytime in the near future, this is a bubble that is here to stay! Blockchain technology is something that wont fade because of price speculators. This technology will stay and improve many things in peoples lives!

I think it's far from being broken, and the price is still reasonable, it's estimated to be around $50,000, and that's the real bubble.

I don't understand one thing: For a while BCH is promoted as rival of Bitcoin; but all I see is when Bitcoin drops, BCH also drops. When I remember Roger Ver's announcements and all shit news...It just doesn't make sense. Theoretically when Bitcoin drops, BCH shall rise; but it's not happening.
Or is there any altcoin that keeps rising as bitcoin drops?

although the price now is in the red zone, I still have coins that give a good sign so I can sell it to make a profit. I think not all of the altcoin is down because if you see in many exchanges, there still any altcoin that is in the green zone so we could still trade and try to make a profit. but I realize that we need to research with carefully so we don't get stuck after we buy the coin and don't too greedy when we want to take a profit.

I mean it wouldn't surptise me if it went down till like 7-8k per bitcoin, anything lower is just sign that we succesfully created big bubble. I say this because its just went up to fast within 1 month causing many people to enter and specualte about the value - LN/SegWit is not ready yet to be used widley so tbh price like 20$k we've seen was pure speculation because it is not usable to be able to grow that much.

Above all alts follow BTC price everytime, quick reminder check the prices of alts depending on BTC value since when BTC go down some alts are in red compared to FIAT but they are maybe gaining on BTCs value/ or are somewhat staying stable.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.

Cannot even argue with that. It has happened so many times in the past. And is quite frightening for other people who have invested a lot of money into bitcoin. But the real question here is, how big will the grand correction be? And how much will lots of investors lose because of it? Surely, a lot will cry when this happens since a lot of dumb greedy people have invested in it when it's price was increasing drastically and don't know when to take profits because of greed. But clearly. It will also be a feast for a l lot of people who still haven't invested into Bitcoins.

Just really have to wait and see what happens a few weeks or months from now.

Bitcoin price is becoming bubble, because after too much increasing of bitcoin in the market it was pop up now anf started to falling down. But don't panic mates because it was strategy of bitcoin to invest more in bitcoin industry.

I guess they pull down the price of bitcoin in crypto community to encourage more capitalist. Because if that is happen in return value of bitcoin will increase more in the future.

Correction in bitcoin is long overdue. The way it was pushed upwards testified that this is artificial growth.
This was done specifically to shorten the BTC after entering the stock exchanges.
In my opinion, after falling to the level of $10,000, maybe $9,000, bitcoin  starts to rise again to even higher figures.

This is a huge correction now and the problem is all the new money that came into Crypto and all the people that bought on the way up who are new to this will now not only lose their shirts but total confidence in the altcoin markets and in Bitcoin, so you will not only see the regular whales and profit takes take their profits, you will see a ton of newcomers come and then leave because they will have lost all their investments. I think if we go down to under 10k USD for Bitcoin you can all kiss good bye the ALTCOIN SPRING OF 2018. No more new people will want to come in and join this revolution when you got a 50% correction in one day. Mainstream investors can't take this kind of volatility, so the market will just be left for the big sharks and whales.

I totally agree with this, but I also believe that one person can see this as a buy opportunity. We know price can't go up all the time withour corrections. Newcomers came here for profit surely but making profit in the markets is not a continuous thing.

No correction is not overdue. This is nonsense. We see the usual speculative transaction for the purchase of coins. The price is very quickly restored. Now all the whales and exchanges to buy coins at a low price. This will increase the capitalization of bitcoin. Everyone who is panicked very much regret it. Bitcoin recover until January.

Yeah, last dips with > 30% loss had all an ATH coming not that late afterwards. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new one in January.

For me I couldn't care less, I still think we will have incredible losses every year. BUT I think it is probably your best chance to make a fortune in the next 10 years. Buy the dips and do a little cost average.

BCH price spike recently was due to it being listed for trading on Coinbase, among other things. That was on Tuesday. But very soon after that its trade was halted as Coinbase suspected its staff of being involved in insider dealings. Apparently BCH was being traded at very high price on other exchanges, and at one exchange it was traded at $9,000 at one point. Investigation is going on. This is in the news.

I remember when the Internet companies took off.  There were wild swings and many lost their shirt, but people still came back.  Why?  Because the interent was not going away.

We are in the early days and the tech behind some of these coins will disrupt and change multiple industries and nothing short of WW111 or an EMP 😚 can stop the changes that are coming.  Choosing sound projects and coins will reward the holders.   If anyone expects things to fo up in a more or less straight line, well they obviously have no clue

The main drop of bitcoin lasts only 1 day. But it caused a very big stir in the society. It is difficult to remain calm in this situation. I'm not logged in to the exchanger in order not to be nervous  Grin

Now the price has simply rolled back. Big players will buy bitcoin at a minimum and the price will go up again. The price will return to 19 000 within a week or two.

Yes, It is more realistic situation. But look how much cost bitcoin transaction fee
https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
Now it's more then 1200 satoshis/byte. I wouldn't want to have bitcoins with such big fee and wait for a few days or weeks to complete a transaction

It is really the big problem right now in bitcoin. High transaction fees and slow transaction process, if there is a reason for bitcoins to burst. I guess it is because of that.

I hope it is just because of the new year. But if for some reasons why bitcoin would end is because of that fact. I still have high hopes in bitcoin, I hope it will be fixed soon.

Crypto is a world full of up and downswings and surely you know that. BTC has experimented a huge raise in his value this year and because it decreased his value in the last days it doesn´t mean that the bubble is going to burst. You just have to calm down because it´s standard.

It seems to me ,that in 2018 bitcoin will show no less growth than in 2017 and previous years. Demand is growing, more and more new people are entering the cryptocurrency world. So, maybe next year there is a chance to see Bitcoin for $ 100,000. And what happens now -is just a correction.
I hold the same opinion. I think that next year we will see the price of bitcoin $ 50,000. What is happening now is a standard market situation.

The bitcoin has risen so much and rapidly so the correction was inevitable but the question is how much this correction will be and how much it will last. I wonder if it will see the dip again like in past years.

Yes, everything is logical, it should be because the asset is not able to grow all the time, I think it can be up to 6 months, but certainly not longer. As it was with altcoins that all the time fell in price and now began to grow

Undoubtedly, in the future we will see a significant increase in the price of bitcoin. And now there is a great opportunity to buy bitcoin at a lower price. I think ,that in 2018 we will not see such a price for bitcoins again!
You know, several months ago all speculators said that bitcoin will maybe touch $5K by the end of the year. So everything what is above that is good, i don't see why lots of people see this as fail. People went crazy, created bubble, bubble popped and that's it. Hopefully things will return in normal soon.

Many skeptics were pleased when bitcoin fell in price by 40%. It was funny to watch this. But someday these people will understand that bitcoin is not a bubble and will regret that they did not invest at the proper time.

People are saying that bitcoin is just a bubble. I think price correction is normal in bitcoin, people right now is scared because of the high values or dollars involved in this corrections.

and many of them that selling their bitcoin while the price is down because they don't want to wait for a while. but if we analyze this, we can see that bitcoin price is still at the high price than a few months ago so I think the price will back increase again. and maybe if the correction price is too deep, the price will increase higher than before so bitcoin will break the new higher price. soon we can see many people are happy and many people are regret for every decision they made but we still have another chance to make our profit.

I think bitcoins is testing its investors their toughness. LOL Whether to sell or just hold their balance it is up to the people, if they strongly believe that bitcoin can sell at a higher price.
Bitcoin is not a bubble and it will never burst. It is a reality and will remain forever. I don’t understand why some people say that bitcoin is a bubble and it can be burst any time and all the investment of the people will destroy. It is not possible because all the people from the whole world have invested in bitcoin and it is not so easy that their investment will disappear somewhere they don’t know.

You are right, btc has been widely accepted not only by the investors but also some governments and companies, so it will not burst in the near future in my opinion. And I will keep holding my BTC.

I think that if hackers do not globally break open exchanges, the rate will be much more stable, the sharp falls associated with the lust of funds, as well as a new year. People began to deduce large sums for gifts and rest. This is the second reason for sharp currency surges

I agree with you, as long as we can hold the bitcoin without thinking about it is a bubble or not, I think we don't have to get influence with any news and we don't have to confuse to see if somehow the price is down. we are still holding our bitcoin without worry and if the price is down, we can buy bitcoin again and keep in the wallet. I don't care too if bitcoin is a bubble and I only want to sell bitcoin at the right time and the right price that I want.

Well you make a sense, it won't pop in nearest future. So you can continue making benefits on it for a long-long time. But don't put all of your funds in the cryptocurrency not to remain without everything.

Partially this volatility exist because of too high expectations of mass public which is coming to the market without any knowledge but with $1000 to become a million. If this market was as predictable as Forex why the hec we need it? Imao crypto must be first place integrated into payment systems and not be only speculative instrument for masses or institutions. Let the volatility rule!

I am also excited at the expense of such sharp jumps of bitcoin course. I hope  there will not be so much activity in the market in the beginning of next year
It seems to me ,that in 2018 bitcoin will show no less growth than in 2017 and previous years.
Yes, I think the same. I'm not sure about $100 000 for 1BTC next year, but I really believe in $50 000. And according to the history of its development, I think that yes, it's a standard market situation.

Bitcoin soon met with high price increases in short time. I suppose that the balloon rumors are still around because of these sudden ups and downs. In the next 5 years, I think that the price of bitcoin will be 50.000 USD.

Not paying attention on your words we should ascertain the fact that Bitcoin price really was a bubble in some extent and it was corrected. The price had become more realistic than it was before under the press of promotion and popularity.

Believe that the price correction of bitcoin has got over. Now it seems to be the time for a next level of growth initiation and reach the price that's been targeted long back. As the price had started to show signs of positive growth, now people have started to be into the process of holding to get the best by the new year.

People get so  terrified whenever the price retraces down in the natural movements of the market. Corrections are actually healty for long term growth.

What's missing from the graphs? The grand correction is coming soon.
Updated: As shown the correction occurred at roughly 20k on Bitfiniex, approximately 8k USD more than when this was posted. But the correction is occurring, just like 2013

Now, we are entering a second bull-rush period, followed by potentially a third, before the steady recession. Bitcoin is nearly repeating the same pattern it did 4 years ago. History always repeats itself.

Exactly the same as what happen four years ago, couldnt be more predictable .

I find it quite difficult to compare the current conditions of bitcoin with those that prevailed four years ago. I think that at the present time the speculative game has completely seized bitcoin and it is impossible to repeat a behavior similar to that of 2013. On the one hand, it is difficult for large investors who are interested in bitcoin today to be willing to let the bitcoin price fall for too long. But on the other hand speculators do not seem willing to let the price of bitcoin grow much without taking profits, in a clear pump and dump scheme. Therefore I would not be surprised to see the bitcoin move for a long time in the current range between $20,000 and $13,000.

History always repeats itself.

Nothing more dangerous and unexactly than reading the markets with history in mind...
Trading is not history, it has nothing to do with history, it´s totally unpredictable what´s going on tomorrow...

The problem is not the market. wich´s now over 600billion $.... it´s Bitcoin loosing dominance in that market (32% as of now when it used to be 85% a few months back, it was never such lower dominance)...

This is not a bubble burst... it´s called "sacalabillity problem". Sending 70$ of BTC today cost like the same amount in fees (check exodus wallet) for the average user who dunno to adjust regular fee... and that´s increasing everyday....
The money you see out of bitcoin is not going out of the market, it´s going to ALTS...  they had the best month in history... it´s not 2013, it´s a new scenario

And that will keep like this untill BTC fix their broken network...

There are too many bad news  for Bitcoin these days, ad the price is heading for a dip, dont know how long will this carry on. Maybe altcoins will take advantage of this situation and rising rapidly.

Yes, I think the current price drop is just a corrective process to correct irrational investments, but bitcoin will continue to rise, no doubt.

Many people think cryptocurrency is the bubble, there will be a day not far away completely disappear. But in my view, cryptocurrency will be the future of finance as well as currency. The recent increase in Bitcoin's abnormalities is quite normal in the cryptocurrency market. One thing you can clearly see is the increasing cryptocurrency market. Coin attracts a lot of capital from organizations as well as individuals. The next 10 years, Bitcoin in particular and other cryptos will grow strongly.

You can only know it's a bubble when it's over Cheesy
IMO BTC won't crash like some people hope it would.
But only if the community (LEADERS Tongue) find consense.
You have  BTC pairs on every exchange.
What would people use a reference? Sure there are alternatives in the top ten.

And for the people who say BTC will hit 0$.... not in the next 10 years folks Cheesy
If it ever got below "censored"$ I'd buy some more just for the sake of having more Cheesy
Think about that

I think bitcoin price really get crash yesterday because, from the $19k, we see the price is down too far until $12k but gladly, the price starts to increase again. but I don't think that bitcoin will hit $0 because bitcoin now become famous among us and I see people take some attention with bitcoin and it seems, they want to take a part in the cryptocurrency world. so if they can buy more bitcoin in yesterday, I think now they can sell it to make a profit.

if 15k will be break out then we will see the price to jumped back to 20k and reached another height, I believed that bitcoin really giving us some
good view, if we know how to analyze then its time to buy and make some good earnings, no doubt that this test will be followed by support and
newer investors.

I tend to agree with the people who are predicting Bitcoin will hit $100,000 or more, over the people who are predicting a crash.  Bitcoin is still the standard, and for all of it's current flaws, my understanding is that some of the biggest ones are fixable.  The bubble is going to burst until the market hits a saturation point, and we are still very far from that.

Although there is a bubble in bitcoin, there is no denying that bitcoin will continue to rise because the current bubble is not big enough, so the price continues to rise.

Firstly, I would say Bitcoin is not a bubble, it’s a crypto currency. If there is a correction then it would be in the price.  And, according to me, this is true for  any market; physical currency or crypto ones. Whatever is in trade – it will go up or down, being straight is very uncommon.

In case of bubble, if it burst then it can’t get to its real shape or more than that, ever again.

In my opinion, the bubble will not burst in the near future. In it so much money is pumped, that $100 000 for one coin will seem the usual price. I think 2018 will be very interesting.  Smiley

Bitcoin is in a bubble but one that is difficult to pop. New investors are entering the market all the time, especially now that is in the news almost every day. Once people get into bitcoin - they move on to altcoins where all the action happens Grin

Bitcoin is not a bubble.
It's an innovation in the financial world. It evolved from the gold and silver coins to paper money and the credit cards.
Crypto-currency was the next step and it is to stay. It makes no difference if the price is going to rise or it will collapse.
It represents our fight against the monetary system and against the banksters. That's why it was made for.
The money belongs to the banks or to us. You decide.

Correction in bitcoin will be very soon. Everyone knows that there is no constant growth. But how much bitcoin will be corrected is another matter. But the fact that it will later grow in value to its former heights and even higher is a fact.
I think many people say this because of the growing prices. They think that price is like an air and bitcoin is like a balloon and there will be a limit and after that this balloon will burst due to huge investment. But it is not the reality. The reality is this that bitcoin is world number 1 crypto and may there are some people who do not want bitcoin to be number 1. That’s why they give such false statement about bitcoin.

Yeah, I also heard that news, and now expect that we will see again threads about "bitcoin bursting". Actually, the news is just a FUD, it was actually seizing exchanges that the government think has some irregularities.

It will take a large event to hit Bitcoin's price.  The first bubble pops happened when there was serious FUD hitting the market, like the Gox hack.  I think the ICO market is full of scams, and will likely be the next culprit for tanking the market, but it will take another year at least for that to happen.

I know a former hedgefund-owner, and all of his contacts are moving into crypto very soon. They're trying to wrap up work to get cryptos in portfolios.

It seems to me that in the near future bitcoin is preparing for another record jump, when its cost will reach $ 30,000.
Hysteria is again being pumped up in the mass media about the fact that bitcoin will collapse.
So, the founders of Bitcoin Cash are trying to organize a massive pressure on Bitcoin and recognize their currency as a real bitcoin.
In South Korea the government is trying to crush the crypto-exchanges.
All this is reminiscent of the situation in September 2017 when crypto-exchanges were closed in China. However, despite this, bitcoin then sharply increased.

I was always so afraid of procedure that i was in shock entire time it happened and i always had a good teeth , nobody drilled anything in my teeth until i was 22.
Corrections are going on every week.
drop from 20 to 11K in 3 weeks? Are you kidding me? When big horrible 2008 happened, it dropped DOW from 14 to 11K and everybody was suicidal AF. BTC can drop 3K in the morning and everybody goes....yeah well ....its volatile lately, i better invest in some IOTA that multiplies every month, more profit in it.
I think BTC have a chance to get out of it without a buble crisis's. Because people panic less when they see real picture. There is no good old SEC commission to stop trading when rich people loose too much money. There is no regulation to stop fair trading in 17:30, so nice brokers can go snort some drugs out of stripper ass. Its 24/7 real deal free transparent open market.

First I do not accept Bitcoin price increase as a bubble.  Second  people make this kind of assertion to make themselves feel good as they have missed on Bitcoin.  Bitcoin has come s long way to get to this point.  The value and potential Bitcoin present is matchless by any asset or currency. If you don't want to miss out on future increase,  this is the time to buy more bitcoin.

It's too early for us to put an end to the bitcoin. We still have to watch the take-off of bitcoin. I think that the price for bitcoin should soar to unbelievable values. Too much money has been invested in bitcoin, so he will not die yet.

I agree with you, I think bitcoin is not interesting anymore, because there are so many newly emerging coins that have better ideas and potential in the future, besides, maybe since bitcoin prices go down, people are also hooked on panic sells, so bitcoin prices are getting decreased

In the future, several altcoins will probably occupy the first three places at a price. Bitcoin will retire, but this will not happen in this year.  Smiley

Let's expect another sharp increase again, this scenario is familiar this was like September last year when China banned its citizen of bitcoin. Instead of bursting the bubble the price reached a big ATH.

It seems to me that this is a temporary phenomenon. The usual market situation. "Messenger from the future," giving a forecast for the price of 100,000 bitcoins in 2019 can not be mistaken. Grin I expect growth.  Smiley

this is possible, unless people will treat bitcoin as gold and will hold it for long term, less in day to day  circulation - higher price

I feel like i'm back in 2013-2014 with these markets. Final updated point to the thread, basically everything that happend in 2013. Some would claim it's because of news, i would claim this is natural.

I do not think that bitcoin is a bubble. Bitcoin will prove that he is not a bubble over and over again. Gradually, people will understand that the crypto currency is our future.

In order to prove that this theory is erroneous bitcoin just need to grow in price for example to $ 30,000 - $ 40,000 this year. I'm not sure that bitcoin is a bubble, but in any case time will show who is right.  Cheesy

The graphs given here are of course very obvious. But it does not seem to me that you can not see the future. Yes, you can make a prediction that some event will happen with a certain probability in the future, but this is only a possibility.  Wink

The bitcoin has risen so much and rapidly so the correction was inevitable but the question is how much this correction will be and how much it will last. I wonder if it will see the dip again like in past years.

After rapid and strong growth the price of bitcoin falls and this is just the law of the market. There can not be a constant growth as well as fall. And this means that soon bitcoin will start to grow again. I do not believe that bitcoin will move sideways for a long time.

I hope you are right. We can not predict much, but this bitcoin correction was expected. The growth rate of bitcoin can not be eternal. As well as the fall of bitcoin...

I'm afraid that with such a $ 100,000 course bitcoin can explode. Bitcoin is a speculative coin, which is little provided with real funds and capital. How can its course achieve this unbelivable amount? Only by swindling and speculation. People just stop believing in it

I cannot imagine what will happen if the bitcoin price increase until $100,000 and I think many people will become the richest people in their city and they can be famous in their city. and once the bitcoin price raises that number, we can see that many people will be shocked and will join into bitcoin world immediately. but personally, we are still far to reach that number and I think there are many things that we need to be solved or to be fixed before the price jump at that price.

It is really the big problem right now in bitcoin. High transaction fees and slow transaction process, if there is a reason for bitcoins to burst. I guess it is because of that.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html

There you go, hope you can get yourself at least somewhat up to speed. Then you will maybe stop writing obvious fallacies on the forum.

Bitcoin transactions are near the lows and happen fast.

Man this is an interesting read, going back to the first post when there is no bubble & comments suggesting there wont be a correction - then the realisation that oh yes there sure as hell is a correction going on.... but that is all it is.
People invest to make money, if there is a huge increase in price over the space of a month or two of course people are going to sell, history, economics, human nature dictates that. Lets just ride it out, this is still early in Crypto land & adoption is still miniscule compared to where it will be in a few years. Fascinated to see how the story develops  Smiley

We're entering new territory, and as i had somewhere predicted that we'd see a 5k Bitcoin back in December 17', which will not be entirely unreasonable at this current time.

Everything that's occurring with Bitcoin now, has already occurred 3-5 years ago.

If the BTC is a bubble, it has been destroyed a few years ago, and the blockchain technology has been developing, and BTC should always be valuable in a few decades.

I agree with you on some points and disagree on others.

Yes, it is following the pattern of past years.
But no, it will not turn out the same, as in there will be an extremely long recession.

There are some important factors to consider.
#1 is that crypto has mainstream awareness now.  This is tremendous in that it's reach has multiplied 1billion times.

#2 it is on institutional money's radar.  With the incorporation of btc futures and investing via more "traditional" means (hedge funds, financial portfolios, etc.), it is only a matter of time until big players jump in.

#3 there are viable alternatives to btc and even alternatives that blow btc out of the water.

This makes me believe that it will be another fantastic year for btc as it plays its last Hurrah.
Then will be replaced by something else as the cornerstone value asset of the crypto market.
I see money migrating to eth, then on to better structured platforms like neo or theoretically ada.

...of course, like you said, this is me just speculating also.
Who knows, maybe we will see btc never break 10k this entire year.

It is amazing to see your prediction based on historical chart of bitcoin, so what are your thoughts about the support in 2013 after huge correction support was found around $200 what should be the last support now? At the moment looks like it is sustaining above $6k i hope it will be the optimum support and btc will consolidate here.

How can people call Bitcoin a bubble or even a scam if they are here, on this Forum? It means that they share here the wrong information and let the other people panic. I believe in the power of BTC and know it will be gaining.

Such of many thoughts, but who knows! This crises quite long as 2018 gonna cryptocurrency regulations. BTC is still confirmed bear markets, better possible to see a 5k Bitcoin. In the meantime, Those governments are called it bubble, but BTC is not a bubble as already have proven it's value.

There are many who predicted 10k-20k... etc Bitcoin and claimed to be experts, high profile figures in other industries.

What we are witnessing, is the trends and historically accuracy about how Bitcoin's markets function. 5k Bitcoin was realized today, but, the market is still in downturn. It's these periods of high uncertainty is what dis-ways many from crypto. But, those who stay and invest properly will come out as the new kings in 2020-2021, just like those who made it out in 2017 for being diligent in their efforts during 2014-2017

There is no bubble, there is just a market that is still developing and it is a market where there are lots of new investors who do not understand well how the investing works. People have called bitcoin a bubble for years and yet here is the coin being so much more than anyone expected. Yes the bear markets last a long while but what matters is that it breaks in the end and people make a lot of profit from the resulting bull market

Bitcoin is not a bubble therefore nothing needs to be corrected.
Bitcoin is suffering now from depression in the market.
Those who have no guts will walk away in the market.
But those who are smrt will get more BTC and hold for it.

Bubble is a very loud name, because in general there is talk about a bubble, now you can call everything that relates to finance in general, all this is nothing more than just a bubble, all loans and loans are also bubbles.
