Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

People lose interest to bitcoin cuz it's very expensive. Only big sharks are buying and trading BTC, newbies stick with altcoins, so it's obvious that their popularity will grow.

It will take a while for people to lose interest in cryptos as it is we are still in early days of mass adoption of crypto currencies with all the media attention bitcoin has had in the past year alone it has generated much interest that won't go away over night. There will more likely be a time when bitcoin runs out of steam but some other coins will take its place.

Hello!
If bitcoin died do you think people will lose intrest in other cryptos aswell? which altcoin would you invest in if there were no bitcoin?
I have lost interest in Bitcoin twice since 2011. I credit this do to the fact that I was buying into the novelty and the hype but not the actual technology. This year I have guarded against this outcome by teaching myself about underlying technology.

First thing, bitcoin can't die overnight.
Second, people are getting crazy about all cryptocoins not only bitcoin so this trend might remain same if there will be no more bitcoin.
People are investing in bitcoin because it has limited supply and no any government can shutdown bitcoin network. People find it much safer to store their wealth in bitcoin than in their local banks.
Bitcoins cant die but people can make it die, by losing an interest about it In my opinion Golem for Long-Term or Zcash for Short-Term. However, I’d advocate for ethereum right now as the price has dipped and I think it’s the most promising crypto available on the market.

I think they have probably failed the first time. I know someone who misunderstood the concept of investing in bitcoin. He invested during the time bitcoin's price is high and when it's price went down he really got disappointed and gave up in the world of cryptocurrencies.

I think to lose interest is only a small possibility. because bitcoin will be a future hope for some people who participate in it. But if the bitcoin state remains high, then the possibility of loss of interest will be greater, as they find it difficult to participate in bitcoin.
Bitcoin is for all and not only specific one. People are taking interest in bitcoin because it is providing them all the ease and comfort which is necessary and is allowing them to make a high profit by working hard. It is setting new records of success and is the most worthy currency nowadays it keeps promising plans for the investors. It will soon in future replace all other regular currencies for buying and selling of goods in daily life

I think not, because the world of crypto is so vast and interesting to learn. Do not waste time on useless things, use it to learn crypto.

Actually cannot die literary but in a sense that its users will not be interested anymore. If this happen I don't think that cryptpcurrency will down forever. There are alot of other coins which have almost the same feature of bitcoin. The users of bitcoin is continuously increasing for it is patronizing by many users. You can find many kinds of alts, just search and discover what its true features.

Hello!

Ok. Let me get it straight. Bitcoin will not die. You need to get your facts straight. But for the sake of argument, let say it did why would people lose interest in cryptos? Although its the #1 coins out there, bitcoin taking out of the picture will not put the whole crypto in jeopardy. Might be some impact though but its gonna be minimal and crypto will live another day. As far as which altcoin, of course, Ethereum will be the next in line, despite the fact that there are other altcoins which is similar to bitcoin in a sense. Ethereum is much better in terms of technology, and the speed of transaction is very quick. (though lately because of cryptokitties it also suffered slow confirmation time). Ethereum has smart contracts that can be utilizes by a lot of financial and IT companies to help and improved their current systems. There are really a lot of coins that can replace bitcoin, and Ethereum is one of them.

I dont think the majority of the population would lose interest in other cryptocurrencies even if bitcoin plummets down in value.. there are other currencies that has a lot of potential and value.. not as high as bitcoin but it can suffice. Sure, it is possible that some are going to lose interest but not all of them would. For me, the next cryptocurrency that will prevail among the others is etherium.

We're just getting started. There is so much room to grow as it continues to gain popularity. I don't believe it could die at this point. If it did Alt coins would definitely takes its place as the main coin.
Yes, i agree. 2017 is such a great year for bitcoin and more people are starting using it. I dont think people lose interest because what's happening these days is that more people are trusting, buying and using bitcoin. I think the contrast of this topic is happening nowadays because the value of bitcoin keeps increasing which means more people are interested in using it.

As long as people earn from bitcoin, then there is no reason for them to lose interest. With that scenario, I don't think there is a reason as well for bitcoin to die. But granting that happens, people will divert their interest to altcoins. Even before bitcoin will die, people are already into promising altcoins as an addition to their money and as back up plan if bitcoin goes down temporarily or permanently.

From the look of things and how some country have started embracing bitcoin, it will be very difficult for bitcoin to die down. But if it happen many people including my humble self would lose interest in any other altcoin. What ever would cause the bitcoin to die will definitely cause other altcoin to die down too.

I think people will not lose interest even if Bitcoin die but interest is the feeling of wanting to know or learn about something or someone,on this point, learning has no end. It is possible to loss interest on something and later rebuild interest on thesame thing. Finally,Interest lost on Bitcoin could affect the entire interest on cryptocurrency technology.

I think people will lose interest only if it stops working and brings income...while there is a possibility of earning - it will be interesting
