Hello!

If bitcoin died do you think people will lose intrest in other cryptos aswell? which altcoin would you invest in if there were no bitcoin?

Bitcoin now is very strong, no way bitcoin can collapse if we see from recent price and interest people to it.
Anyway, if popularity and price of bitcoin zero, i will definitely loss interest to other crypto.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

First of all I do not think that Bitcoin will die, maybe price may crash,  but just for the sake of the topic I guess people will still buy cryptocurrency. People will still continue to trade because of the profit they can have and people will still continue to use crypto currency for their online transaction.

Now for a candidate that will replace Bitcoin my bet will be on  Ethereum.

Ethereum is the second most popular coin out there in the market. Ethereum  projects are really good. Price is still going up and I think it will continue to go up.

If bitcoin dies, I think the interest of the majority users of cryptocurrency will not fade away. The cryptocurrency is already in the system of internet. They will find a better altcoin that is not like bitcoin that died for whatever a reason.

The moment bitcoin goes down, a lot of alts will surely take the hit and go down as well. Today, a lot of people who are into crypto currency only knows about bitcoin and even me, it was when I got to the forum I knew the existence of other coins but because bitcoin acceptance is beyond the people on the forum, it points to the fact they just lose interest in everything that happens in the crytpo world.

Aside that, a study of the relationship between bitcoin and other alts even suggests that when bitcoin price goes higher, it has a rub off effect on other coins and if it goes lower, the impact can be massive on alts. So, only few people will believe in alt and the market will be puged greatly as only few of the alts I see standing.

Where do you see this ? It's the opposite. People start to know and understand the bitcoin. It's just the beginning for the crypto sphere.Smiley

I think this is a very natural process. After many years, bitcoin may disappear. It may be too high for anyone to trade. But I think altcoin will always exist, and some altcoin will develop rapidly.

Definitely, Bitcoin don't have any space to be extended to other functions.

Though it is great now, the amount of investment would be divided to other coins as well.

I think if someone has been in cryptocurrency for a long time and already get a high profit they will not lose interest, because the person will always work harder so that profit always increases every time.

IF Bitcoin died then 100% for sure something else will take its place. It was the first crypto coin experiment and eventually has gathered a huge but still proportionally (to world pop) small following. Newer and potentially better solutions are already in development.

I dont think so, basically everything always has a replacement and a revolution. this is why there is nothing definite in crypto, all altcoin can be the topmost. but at the moment it's very impossible to see the dead bitcoin. even I still believe the future of bitcoin keeps brilliant

If bitcoin will have no value the users will lost my interest investing. If you started and earn so much from it of course you will not loss interest. You can make a fortune from it.

This question is very difficult, let me see if I can conjecture something ...
If bitcoin dies, probably some alticoin will override it, about this I have no doubt and people who are interested in bitcoin will gradually migrate to the "bitcoin surrogate", it is clear that as confidence grows, people they began to become more interested. The difficult part is now, which alticoin will be the flagship !!! I will choose my favorites, Dash or Doge.

you are wrong, someone will always look for other options to make a profit. it's about what you plan and think about.
so I guess you just need to deepen the bitcoin knowledge. btw bitcoin will always remain first rank in crypto until 5 - 10 years will come.

It is really early to say for now because bitcoin has just got started and also other altcoins. It will take time for crytos to have a different course of interest. Bitcoin is doing well nowadays. Ethereum and Litecoin has also the same. It will be good if can think of how we can continuously support crytocurrencies as a best best response.

When it comes to the investment option, I won't keep my all the eggs in it and hence I won't lost my interest in the above-mentioned case as I will lose my some part of the investment portfolio. Being the first player in the crypto industry, Bitcoin is strong enough to deal with many troubles but I am aware that anything can go wrong down the road and hence as a backup option, I have my investment in LTC/ETH etc and I am in the process to do a research for the same.

The issue is that, if it happen at all that bitcoin dies according to you illustration,a lot people will move to other crypto currency, even if it does not pay like bitcoin, they will manage it like that. But if that be, I'm sure other crypto coin will want to upgrade. Asides, there are some that are still making sense among them only that we have been so much attached to bitcoin and bitcoin has been ahead. Other Cryptos are not so bad.

I don’t think people will lose interest on bitcoin because of the impact it gives to the people. There are so many people who are investing in bitcoin and are joining in the campaigns. It will for sure still be here in the coming days, months and years because of the benefits it brings to the people.
I agree with you, it is impossible for peoples to lose interest with bitcoin because of the profit that can be earned from bitcoin. Now bitcoin is getting popular and known to many people and more and more people are joining in bitcoin, so it seems like bitcoin will never die and be replaced by other coins because bitcoin is the king of all coins whose position will remain strong as long as there are many people who are joined in bitcoin

I really do not see any reason why bitcoin would die. In the case of something like that happening, it either could be that one other currency targeted and won the spot or the same thing that happened to bitcoin to die must have happened to the rest. However, there is just no chance or the possibility of bitcoin dying even if we do not know the future.

For many who are into bitcoin only for profits and money, YES. For very few who are actually into digital currency and crypto, maybe not.
They would probably understand its failure reasons and would adopt an alt that they feel solves the problems with bitcoin.
But it will definitely ruin the appeal of crypto, the values will go down and people will be very hesitant to use a crypto currency for the rest of their lives, especially those who will lost thousands if not millions in their crypto investments.
