What.... that is the dumbest thing I've read today.
So their chips that they get at production cost will not see ROI huh...? Show me some math to back that up pls, that should be entertaining.

Avalon chips arent profitable at this point. And their technology is same or better if Iam not mistaken ? Anyway I wanted to write "they might not be" instead of "will not be". My point was they are not going to be raking 2-3x ROI and therefor point out that "HUGE" was a bit overstatement.

Avalon chips won't ROI at retail prices.  At about 0.078BTC or $9.72, they're not profitable.  But the original cost for a B1 Avalon with chips and everything else was just $5/chip. The cost per chip is probably like 50 cents. An Avalon unit for $1btc would probably be profitable.

One question is why he sold all those shares in one batch. He could get significantly more if he sell them slowly along this week. Even he knows something we don't know, it's still far way from the deadline, 10 Sep. so most likely he may just need cash desperately this time.

If you're a whale you don't care about that sort of thing. Even if you sell slowly you remove buyers from the buy side, and if people see the price dropping they may cancel their buy orders.  If you do it all at once, you take everyone by surprise and no one has time to remove their orders.  If he broke it up in chunks of 10 each, it would still move the market. 

It's likely someone taking profits.  My shares are still worth WAY more then I paid for them.

I'm not sure this will resolve as true, even if Labcoin has the hardware, mainly because they never agreed to send out sample chips to 5 forums members, etc, etc.

Yeah, that bet was created by one of the trolls, the 9/12 date was pulled out of his as - and LC never said they'd have sample chips out to five forum members by that date.

The five forum members is just the minimum requirements for the bet to be valid, i.e. not to let the company get away with only one chip sent. No, you're misunderstanding me.  Without knowing who is supposed to get chips, why would anyone take this bet? No one has said they're getting sample chips by the 12th. Labcoin never said they'd send sample chips to 5 forum members by the 12th. So why would anyone take this bet?

You would likely consider me a cheerleader and if I was to bet on that, it would be on "NO" simply due to the fact that I can read and understand English. That is despite the fact that I believe LC will be hashing by the 10th. The odds are simply nowhere near good enough for me to put any money on it and I'd make far more money just buying more shares in LC.

So, if Ford were to come out with specs for a new car, and say "we will start production of a 2,500 pound car that gets 55 miles per gallon for a sticker price of $35,000 on November 15th", and someone came up with a BitBet bet saying "Ford will deliver 5 sample vehicles to well-known auto industry journalists with readerships over 250,000 per month each within 14 days of the production starting", would you take that bet?

Production starting and delivery to "5 credible forum members" are not the same thing, and to my knowledge, Labcoin has not stated that it will deliver sample chips to anyone except for those who have previously indicated an interest in bulk chip delivery - I certainly haven't seen anything suggesting they will ship sample chips to anyone who asks.

It's a transparent sucker bet, and that's why nobody is taking it. If the bet was limited to what Labcoin has actually stated, then it would be much more relevant, and there'd be a lot more interest.

first i would take that bet
but Ford is reputable company..how about let's phrase it as a random company pops up and says they've got IN FRONT of them 2,500 high spec car. they can only take a photo of a tire. but they can't send any out for review or testing

In that scenario, would you bet "YES" that Ford would send cars to 5 reviewers for testing? That's precisely what the situation is with the LC bet.
