So the  fcc/ul approvals are in?  Why aren't we hearing from anyone else about shipping? My order just shows "processing" as it has for months.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that these approvals went awfully wrong.

yeah... that can be truth for FCC, but for CE it should not be a problem. for european market equipment up to 2,8kW/h should not be a problem.
all my normal "jumper" have 18A and for my current miner (some KNC and scrypt-rigs) i already made new separated connection (just security reasons) with 32A with 2,5mm2 cross-sections, so i could even put 3 of Terras to one line without big problems. one cable 5x2,5mm2 gives already capacity for 6-9 miners.
it´s just shitty that CT does´t give any informations about certification. will the Terras get any cert at all?

Enjoy your life!

Someone said that the first customer picked up the unit.  He did not according to him on reddit.  It is at a secured hosting facility.

Now conspiracy theory time!  Someone in antminer or bitmine thread that the huge new elgius thing he knows what company it is.  If it were CT I'd love to know where they are hosting because I doubt their office has the cooling or power.  So if anyone knew I can get access to see you alls units at most MAJOR datacenters.  We do business with most and the largest one the owner is a friend of mine.  Plus all of them would love to know that they have potential fire hazards (non approved) units in their sites that downtime is worth more than the company itself.  Wink

Again just conspiracy theory.  But data center access and owner is a true part.  Wink

If you're suggesting it's Cointerra mining with the machines, I would think it would be at their affiliated hosting center called Terramine hosting

http://terraminehosting.com/

Which interestingly now has the following addition to it's website:

Powered by Cloudhashing

You don't think they have any connection...  Go read the FAQ lol!  When your hosting is over you can pay to have it shipped back to you or pick it up in Texas.

Didn't know Cloudhashing was using datacenters in the state.

My theory was more of a joke btw.  I don't think anyone would be that dumb after so many busted for that.  Plus for the power and cooling needed for lots of units they wouldn't be doing it in house.  They wouldn't have needed crowd funding for building the unit.  Wink

CloudHashing.com's hashing power to increase

Over the next month or so we will be bringing more than 2 Petahashes online. This marks a huge increase in hashing power. We've partnered with industry leading ASIC manufacturers to create the absolute best hashing environment for our customers. For our earliest customers, we thank you so much for your early adoption of cloud mining with us.

They maybe renting...  I don't think any ASIC company here has the funds to build a GOOD datacenter...  Maybe renovate a building throw some AC units into it some power and a few local connections.  No major crossing fiber connections, etc...

Again if anybody was doing this they would not crowd fund any project.

I thought that CH was in Iceland... Is there a graph with their HR speaking supporting what you said at least?

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

CH has a data center with KnC jupiters in Iceland, but for the Terraminer they build a DC next to Cointerra.
Look at the riddiculous pricing he is asking noobs, then you understand this once a time small black criminal has become a big boy in BTC land.

I thought that CH was in Iceland... Is there a graph with their HR speaking supporting what you said at least?

The article incorrectly says the datacenter is in Dallas.  My understanding is that it is in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - In the Bitcoin mining industry, where projections but not promises are the norm, CloudHashing.com's announcement could shake up an already extremely competitive industry at a time when Bitcoin is becoming more mainstream.

The company announced that customers can now pre-order cutting-edge Bitcoin mining contracts at a cost of just $9.49 per Gigahash/sec guaranteed to begin Feb. 15 or full refunds will be given. This cost-per-Gigahash is significantly less than anything announced, and CloudHashing.com's established track record of delivering cloud mining services since July makes the announcement a potential game changer.

Additionally, CloudHashing.com announced a reduction in its mining pool fee from ten percent to three percent along with the elimination of management fees. These fees are used to pay for electricity and maintenance in the datacenters.

"Our mission at CloudHashing.com is to bring Bitcoin mining to everyone in an easy and affordable way," said Emmanuel Abiodun, founder and chief executive officer. "By building our newest datacenter at such a massive scale using the latest technology, we are able to make these kinds of guarantees where others can't."

The Dallas, Texas datacenter Abiodun has built is based upon the latest CoinTerra 28nm ASIC architecture at an unprecedented scale. Through the unique relationship CloudHashing.com has built with CoinTerra and others, they are able to scale with demand in a nimble way to bring hashing power to market very quickly.

CloudHashing.com's announcement comes on the heels of their company recently being featured in the New York Times article "Into the Bitcoin Mines".

Cloudhashing.com is a Bitcoin mining technology company where customers can purchase mining contracts and earn bitcoins via their website. It is a pioneer in the Bitcoin industry and was the first to introduce cloud-based Bitcoin mining. The London-based company has thousands of customers worldwide.

Bitcoin is an increasingly popular online currency and technology that is changing the way many are purchasing things online in the same way the World Wide Web revolutionized how people connect to one another.

It must be coincidental that CT website is hacked and they don't start to ship?

It seems pretty clear CT is supplying their contract for the cloudhashing gear first. Otherwise if there wasn't an ironclad contract provision, I doubt cloudhashing would be so boldly guaranteeing that hashing would begin by Feb 15th. There has been a large jump in the overall bitcoin network speed in the past several days, most likely this was these cloudhashing/CT boxes coming up for test mining.

Nice they let that company jump right to the front of the line, huh?

Quote
In consideration of the above, we are offering our January and February batch retail customers (orders placed at the cointerra.com website store) a coupon redeemable against their next order for the performance discrepancy of our first run of TerraMiners. January and February batch retail customers may choose one of the following two options:

1.  For January or February batch retail customers who wish to receive their TerraMiner order in the currently-shipping specification we will offer a 15% discount coupon* redeemable against their next retail hardware order placed at the CoinTerra website store.  If a January or February batch retail customer chooses to accept their order as-is they will automatically receive this coupon.

2. We understand that some January or February batch customers may wish to request a refund, in which case we will offer a full refund of US dollars received for their order. Customers wishing to request a refund should contact support@cointerra.com with their unique order ID. For those customers who choose the refund option we would like to extend the offer of a 5% discount coupon* redeemable against their next retail hardware order placed at the CoinTerra website store.

For our March and later batch customers we will of course assess the situation before shipping and in the meantime we shall continue to work on resolving the remaining power efficiency issues. We also have some exciting announcements lined up for the near future which we hope to share with you soon!

Sincerely,
Team CoinTerra

So January and February batch customers will not be compensated for late delivery or underperforming units but will recieve a coupon instead for their next purchase? I thought it was 20% more hash rate at one time? What if they have no plans to make another purchase? I could see this from BFL but from Cointerra? Also, since they are able to hit 1.7TH the Terraminer II should be 1TH as advertised. Right?

I'm a largish CT customer, and I was a largish BFL customer before them. I don't buy again from companies that screw me, and if none of us do, they'll disappear.

Guys,

I can confirm Cointerra is shipping.  I just received my TerraMiner today.  After a bumpy start with the web interface (mostly my fault) I got it all up, online, and mining.

I just setup a fresh new wallet and mining via the eligius pool so people can watch the actual TerraMiner progress.  Who I am is public knowledge so I have no issues with people seeing the activity of my new wallets.

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/12swrBqyvmN6w6tjmww2RavPsvA3AB1Lme

Disclaimer:  I am a long long time developer so I will be taking the machine down and up while I develop some algo-mining strategies/software.  Also I am sure I will want to break it a few times.  In short, if you see a drop in mining it is likely me not the Cointerra system.

Here are some photo's of myself and Ravi (CEO of Cointerra), Cointerra sitting on my window, and the cgminer screen.

Well, it can work in reverse too. If you order from a company that does not ship on time (or for a long time like BFL), you get less income from mining and would not be able to compete with more successful miners who happened to order from more reliable companies. Basically, darwinian evolution of miners based on random factors. I think that CT is OK, mind you, in comparison with some other actors.
