No doubt many, even most, people are into bitcoin because they have listen to many stories of people getting rich just by buying 100 USD of BTC and hodling to x1000. But I think that is not a repeatable situation and the market needs fresh air. And a correction too.

This is cause by the real demand, when the demand increase we will see the price to increase.
However there are whales who manipulate the price that is why we are not seeing a continues price increase, we can see some
pump and dump but if you look at the overall movement of bitcoin you can tell it's going up.

That is true, you cannot really determine a coherent path for bitcoin because of its decentralised nature and pure offer and demand market. It is a bit easier with tokens that have business propositions behind.

Due to the very large increase of bitcoin especially during the middle to last quarter of 2017, many bitcoiners enjoyed and benefited financially, making the rich people richer and the ordinary ones becomes rich most especially those people are good at trading and mining for they have bigger chances in earning more bitcoin.
