Can this crypto economy survive without bitcoin?
I know a lot of people look at the recent BTC dominance level, and remember where it was a few months ago and start thinking that maybe one day BTC will get completely outdated because of high fees, and slow transaction, and will eventually be replaced. I don't really believe in this, because right now crypto does not seem to survive without bitcoin. There are more pairs being created with Ethereum for example, but BTC is still the principal gateway to enter other crypto as well. Every time BTC crashes, all the alts get hit hard, regardless if they are having good news or not. I don't think this will change in a near future, and if BTC collapses, so will crypto.

Practically yes, because even before bitcoin has surfaced there are jobs that lets you earn money for a living. Therefore you can live without the help of bitcoin and I can say that bitcoin only helps us for extra income. This is just a personal opiniom though.

Most Crypto currencies are based on Bitcoin <Blockchain> and many of them are trading back to Fiat or Bitcoin, when they cash out, so when Bitcoin fail, they fail too. You cannot currently use your Shitcoin at most merchants, so you have to convert back to either Bitcoin or Cash to be able to use it. ^lol^
Bitcoin is far from RIP status. ^smile^

Absolutely, we can survive even without bitcoin. Last years, when bitcoin is not yet popular nor not yet introduce in our life, we still live in this world even without bitcoin.

of course, we all see that all markets are red and there are some fears of getting down more and more in the following days. but on the other hand, no one can ignore that bitcoin is the leader of all the crypto market, so if it down the whole market will go down as well, so it is too hard to believe that it will die that easy and the major investors of it will not allow this to happen.

Yes..Many of the Newbies join the crypto only bc of BTC popularity and many stories of people becoming rich with it. If BTC is to be replaced it will be near to impossible to restore that trust that people have with Bitcoin.

Yes, why not. We can still survive even there is no bitcoin in our life because there are job here in our countries which can sustain our primary needs. But it is more good to use bitcoin because it can give a huge income like what professionals get.

I think we will survive, there are solid cryptos and with the likes of eth, ltc, neo, DeepOnion, xrb and more there is no more dependencies on btc, and they can survive independently. So, let us not worry much about it.

Yes. of course. We will still live well without the presence of bitcoin. Life makes us integrate with everything around us. However, without bitcoin there would be no chance of earning extra money to improve the quality of life. No bitcoin will lose a potential investment.

Of course! We can survive without bitcoin because cryptocurrency is not the only way existing for making money, there are lots of job opportunities out there waiting for us. But if you are pertaining here in crypto world, my answer is still yes(assuming that we disregard our own losses), I don't see any problem if btc will vanish and replaced by other coin, we can still remain crypto holders after all. If this ever happens, then let's embrace it because change is not totally bad. Many of us may have read that 2018 will be game over for bitcoin.Every now and then have seen that every Tom, Dick & Harry Coin claims that their blockchain technology is better than bitcoin and they will solve the real issue with bitcoin network but in reality no one is even close to that.

It already came from your own words, you said that "in reality no one is even close to that" meaning, btc remains supreme. But actually, this is a great opportunity for altcoins to surpass btc because it is currently struggling in the market yet they still can't, despite of showing weakness. Therefore, we can conclude that this year is not yet over for btc. I believe that it will remain on top as always.

I don't know exactly, because from years to years bitcoin has a big influence on the world of cryptocurrency. We can see the movement of bitcoin prices, if the bitcoin price drops then almost 90% altcoin prices will go down as well and otherwise. By automatically if the bitcoin price drops drastically and until it is not worth anymore I am sure the fate of altcoin will be the same.

Many alt coins are closing on on the gap between them and Bitcoin. I would say that Bitcoin still influences other alts since it is primarily the main mode of exchange.

As the first mover to decentralized blockchain, no one can replace Bitcoin on that, Bitcoin is Bitcoin that's it. But when it comes to usage, there are lots that can do what bitcoin can do, they are even faster in form of transaction and cheaper. I believe crypto economy can survive even without Bitcoin because if Bitcoin is omitted in the scenario, other cryptocurrency will take its place.

of course we can! we survived even before cryptocurrencies area present. but if you're asking for those that overly dependent on btc, they sure can find other crypto, but if btc goes down it sure has a wide impact in overall crypto.. I mean, most fluctuations of crpto market is driven by bitcoin.

I think you lack information and education about crypto and bitcoin itself. do you see bitcoin going to die? game over? look at the current market maybe you will think otherwise. I think you should try to read a lot and see the yearly chart statistics for bitcoin. almost every year there is a strong decline, after which it returns to normal and re-pumped.
