Bitmine doesn't give a fuck.... as Mt. Gox does the past few months.
Stop spaming this threat with useless things guys.

I would place Bitmine with Mt.Gox on one step at the moment.
The situation is just horrible by the reaction of both companies.

Why compare bitmine to an exchange??

I don't think that bitmine doesn't give a fuck about us, I rather think they are hopelessly overwhelmed with the situation, and they sadly handle it like freshmen.
So the result is just as bad as if they REALLY wouldn't give a fuck about us... no difference whatsoever.

Next week will be very interesting.

Look at the Bottom, Kurtisi Zefir, Member of Bitmine AG? Is this the Zefir Guy in the forum talking about the chips, promoting them, doing group buys?

Yes, it's definitively the Zefir guy who posts in this forum. Look at the e-mail in his profile.

It's quite interesting to look at the FB-Profiles of people involved in Bitmine AG to see the faces behind this componay. Doesn't really increase my trustworthiness /edit in this company, lol

Why don't you ask instead of flooding this thread with speculation / conspiracy?

Yes, of course I am the one who is listed in the document - how many other zefirs you know in the bitcoin community who happen to work for Bitmine over the last few months?

I already posted in this thread to work as a consultant for the SW side and am Bitmine's largest customer. And after the fact that I ripped off my butt working on the chips bring-up, Bitmine decided that I am valuable enough for the company to offer me company shares. That's where we are now and that is nothing worth speculating.

Also, I am not doing group-buys or other suspicious things here - contrary I supply over 20 DIY projects (like marto74, WASP, etc.) with chips I bought and paid before to support building up a solid open-source scene around the A1 chip and keep mining rig available for the small scale miners.

Feel free to ask if you need to know more, there is really nothing secret in here.

zefir

Just got one question for you, actually.

How do you keep sane with the FUD and general hate on Bitcointalk? I'm mostly an observer, and I still want to reach through the screen and strangle people.

Ain't yet heard a bad word about you from anyone even semi legit.

So you invested in Bitmine SA? Or why do you hold a board position?

READ. He said they offered him shares as compensation. This is rather commonplace in corporate business. It's a way of insuring a level of dedication to the project, as the value of those shares is tied directly to the success of the company, thus inspiring the individual to work FOR that success.

Steve Jobs had a salary of $2.00 USD per annum at the time of his death. His compensation came from shares. Do you think he was likely to screw up the company on purpose?

I hope giorgiomassa does know that people will drag him to court if the miner don't have a turbo mode as advertised

I do have the same bad feeling about this.
I currently assume that there are the following four options:
  • I did miss somwhere in the product description that the turbo mode is just experimental and they stated explicitly that these figures might not be reached (e.g. "up to 2.8THs").
Or there is some strange legal trick, that products made to order do not have to comply to the initial advertised specs.
  • They upgrade your order for free, so that you really reach the 140% of the nominal speed in turbo mode and not only 120% or so. However if they choose to do that, they most probably won't meet the advertised 3kW in turbo mode which will then be again not as advertised and we would have to spend fiat for the power consumption
  • You are allowed to ask for refund (regardless of the CCP), since the product does not meet the advertised facts
  • We just life with the fact, that they consume more power than expected (but still current world record) and do not meet the advertised Hashrates

If I would have to bet on one option, I would put my money on the last one, but by changing the design of a rig unit from 10 to 12 chips they actually might just adress these concerns as well.

But in the end lets see, what the Rig video will reveal - hopefully coming up today or tomorrow.

First of all, we need to get the miner(s).
And I think we are far away from the "shipped" status. :/

Bitcoin Difficulty:    3,129,573,175                      1TH = 1.125 BTC/week
Estimated Next Difficulty:    3,750,299,731       1TH = 0.9386 BTC/week

Thats at the moment and we aint seen any sign of shipping.
Not looking good for ROI , really thought that this Swiss company were going to make a difference.
Lucky i hedged my bets and bought the Antminers arrived within 48 hours of paying and earning btc already.
A lot of good things to say about this Chinese company after that.

So this is the start of a new week of more great news and no shipping !

I wish you would read, think and had an idea what we are talking about.

The question was related to the board position and not the shares. Employees (for the obvious reasons you stated) usually receive shares but not board seats. Investors want them and get them.

This makes a big difference, so Zefir clarified and everythings fine.

The "Turbo mode" from CoinDesk and Rigs isn't working as promised?

What does this mean, can I run the miner 24/7 in Turbomode in a normal enviroment (standard server room with cooling around 18 degrees celsius) or not?

It would be very disappointing if thats true.

If this is a cooling or dimensioning problem, I'd much rather have 2 units now that do 1.4 TH/s right now than having to wait another 2 weeks to get a single unit that does 2.x TH/s

I guess I'm not the only one with this sentiment? So OK if you can't squeeze out the exact specs, just start shipping the damn things

I paid for 2.8 TH/s, I'm not clinging to the exact size of the box

Just read the Mt. Gox news and put Bitmine in the news.
Oh wait, Bitmine just doesn't write any news what so ever.
