short setup guide for windows:

- supply 12VDC to the bitburner
- connect the Bitburner Fury via USB

Firmware update (optional):

You need
https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6p0twf3rzt03id/PIC32UBL.exe

and the newest firmware
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvc970hel90qwgd/bitburner-fury-firmware_1.2.4.hex

- start PIC32UBL.exe , click enable USB, now start the Miner! between the first 1-5seconds click on "connect"

If the Miner is connected click on "Load Hex File" and pick the newest firmware. Now "Erase-Program-Verify".
As soon as the miner is finished click on  "disconnect" and restart the miner

install USB Driver and setup cgminer:

supply the 12VDC to the miner and wait 10 seconds

You need Zadig:
http://zadig.akeo.ie/

start Zadig, Options -> List all devices

Install WinUSB drivers

Now download cgminer 3.5.0
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/

create a shortcut from cgminer-nogpu.exe . rightclick -> properties
at Target: add:

 -o your pool -u your worker -p your pw --avalon-options 115200:16:10:d:256 --bitburner-voltage 1230

start cgminer, done!

normal settings
--avalon-options 115200:16:10:d:256 --bitburner-voltage 1230

OC, active cooling required!
--avalon-options 115200:16:10:d:290 --bitburner-voltage 1400

My bitburner runs stable at 52GH/s with the OC settings (chip temp 52-54°C)

I translated it realy fast, so excuse me

mine was order no. #105x Ordered on 15. Sep 2013 and picked up by fedex 10/04/2013  -  (Friday)

without flashing the firmware and with small OC (freq 272 voltage 1330) i reach 50-51 Gh/s at diff 62 ... hw ~ 2%
Not bad but very far of 64gh/s !  Angry

I suspect the first boards shipped to not be fully functionnal  Tongue

I didn't get it running with those options.

Once the board starts working it'll work fine. 50GH/s is steady now with  --avalon-options 115200:16:10:d:290 --bitburner-voltage 1400, temperature 53-54C.

It's difficult to try different options as it usually starts  spewing those 'usb_write error on avalon_write' lines and won't work until after complete restart. I haven't managed to reflash firmware yet with pic32prog.

Getting it working is not about running as root or normal user either. Right now it's running after rebooting PC as normal autologging user.

New Firmware version:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zn94oofozdn0eqb/BitBurnerFury_08.10.13.hex

Has to be used in conjuction with this cgminer fork:

https://github.com/someone42/cgminer.git

Should fix CAN connection issues and USB-write errors.

Note that you need to specify 16 miners per board on the BUS in the --avalon-options.

Air cooled with a 12V 0,75A Fan. Later i try a better positioning of the fan to improve the active cooling

AFAICS there are changes in the way voltage selection is done in this new driver.

I think you now specify the true voltage with a new argument, i.e. for standard (not overvolted) operation:

Code:
--bitburner-fury-voltage 900

But I could be wrong.  Hopefully @someone42 or @burnin will confirm soon.  Until then I suggest caution.

roy

EDIT: Please ignore for now - AIUI no change in how you use this version

It's seems the hashrate protection is active. I ask them to add another board rather than € refund but they said boards already sold out for now and my order will ship in a few hours.

That's a shame.  I was hoping that 64+ GH/s might still be achievable.  Has burnin/cryptx confirmed that the boards will not do 64 GH/s ?

Tbh I rather take the 100 euros per board back than a few GH/s more. Best way to cut losses I think.

I email them by replying to my order email and ask simple polite question. They usually reply the next day.

Right now I prefer more hash than refund. All in Cheesy

Hashrate protection is one thing but not getting the boards is a real big loss - now they are mining with client paid hardware & not sending them out. I got tracking but they never shipped it - CryptX what is with this clients - will you send them some BTC each for loss of one week mining?
