I follow different strategies with different coins. With Bitcoin and Eth - I am long term, while with altcoins I am short term. There is no point being long term on altcoins since they would eventually get dumped. For example, I had bought LBC Credits for 0.36$ and the price immediately went to 0.54$. I suppose the owners were pumping the coin. But after that within a single week the price fell to 0.18$.
Now, if I had decided to HODL it, I would have been in 50% loss, I did the right thing by selling it off when I felt the price was right.
Hence, look at BTC & ETH for long term and the remaining for short term.
You are lucky to decide to sell your coins with profit instead of holding it for long term. I see that you are good in speculating that you decide to sell it with 50% profit. Maybe you are an advance trader which is good in analyzing the chart.

I prefer long-term investment for crypto because I'm sure the price of crypto will increase every year.

I am more likely in the long term because if the short term is afraid that the price is not stable will decrease if the long term will be more clear will be profitable because by the end of 2018 all will increase.

Mainly I prefer the long term investments , trading and holding, but I am also doing short term holding and trading, because it is helping to generate the needed daily income for me. Basically it is always more profitable to hold the most powerful coins, like BTC and ETH for long term, because their prices will increase highly after few years, most likely.

I was favor in long term and short term investment, maybe depends to the coins or depends to the seasons. Sometimes coins or altcoins are raising up when bitcoin are fall down and sometimes it is vise versa. Aside on that I said that it was depends on the seasons because I see that when last quarter of the years coming bitcoin are strengthen grow up and since altcoins together with the other crypto currencies are depending to bitcoin price. I guess it's better if we invest in bitcoin for long period of time and invest to different coins and altcoins depending to owners if they do it for long term or short term.

It all depends on chance. Sometimes the price will never reach the target, and sometimes far exceed it.

I chose a long time because I think it's safer to play for a long time so do not have to keep seeing the price every day. see the price once a week I think we can already profit  Grin
To be sure that the coins can be invested in the long term, usually you see the prospect / development of the coin from what, can you share your experience with me

Holding coin for long time or short time is depend on which coin you want to buy or you have. If the coin have any own platform like Eth, Neo, waves etc. Hold it for long or the coin you have already giving you profit sell them, i ; have 5 long term coins right now while the altcoins for my short term are 10 and they keep adding because of the bear market that affected it's growth drastically.

I believe that investing in the right projects for a long time is much more profitable. Only such projects are difficult to find. But, it is also possible to trade a part of the portfolio for a short distance. Buy some tokens on the news and sell on releases.

I keep coins for a long time. I had a situation when I traded promising coin and missed out on big profits due to the fact that before they were sold. I will sell coins twice a year and then buy more coins when the market falls.

If would be having coins to sell, I will wait and see, and sell it only when it reaches or if it is beyond my set target price. But in case that I needed money immediately I will sell it anytime.

I prefer to wait at the price I expect then I can sell it at a high price according to my expectations and I choose for the long term.
I am afraid that if I sell immediately when the price rises in the future altcoin will continue to rise, it will make a disappointment in me.
Although all of this can not be predicted up and down on what value, in myself, I'm sure if the coin crypto will go up.

Definitely looking at present market situation short term is the best choice it is better to exist at short-term profits rather than long-term
I disagree completely with this, the market is telling you very clearly that you need to hold for the long term, in the short term the price is not moving much it's moving up a little bit and moving down a little bit unless you are able to predict very precisely how the market is going to move you are not going to make money in fact you are going to lose it, at least if you are holding you're not going to have as much losses and when the price goes up, and we all know it will go up in the future, then you profits are going to be amazing.
Basically both are good things. We can not be sure that long-term investments will be profitable or not and short-term investments will be profitable or not. Everything must go according to the situation. I will take every opportunity and that is the best way we can do. Take the decision according to the conditions that happen to ourselves, because whatever way we do then it depends on the conditions that occur at that time.
If you're not so sure about the long term future of the coin in which you are investing then that is your mistake, you should never invest for the long term in a coin that has no future, look at bitcoin, bitcoin is the best coin in the market and that is why people invest for the long term and it is because they know that in 5 to 10 years they will get a lot of profits regardless of the short term movements of the market.

I prefer in mid to long term mostly. But it all depends on the portfolio, what goals do you pursue. And on the basis of this you will understand what strategy you should follow. In the long term, the probability of loss is less than in the short term

It is more likely to close a position with a profit if you buy for a long term.

I am trading once in a while because I have coins in exchanges. Sometimes I buy and just wait the coin to go up in value before I sell, of course I know it is in dip. Now, which is better, set it to your expected price so that when it hit you sold? O wait for the price to go up and sell even if it did not reach yet to your  target price? Thanks.

You are typically explaining buying low and selling high which i think most short term investment holders engaged themselves, but i prefer holding my coin for a long term before selling . long term traders incur much fewer trading fees, since positions are held for a long period. Short term traders see long term investing as boring, and quite frankly, that’s just fine for most traders, especially inexperienced investors. However, even many very experienced and professional investors buy in to the long term strategy.

Now all the coins are at the bottom. I'm waiting for growth. I sell only not promising coins.

Previously, I believed to hold a coin for long term but I think to maximize your profit one should change its strategy with time when needed sticking to one theory cannot guarantee you high returns. If someone thought for long term hold from November they might be in trouble upon current market situtations. I think one should move with the flow and sell and buy repeatedly to recover loss and gain more profit.

I am long term holder for BTC and Ethereum especially, because I believe that this coins have very promising potential and their prices will go up highly after few years. But I am trading the other coins and tokens daily almost for getting my weekly and monthly income.
