Your situation is common in the crypto world. I will hold on to the coins if I have confidence in them. The recent price dip is due to the fuds, the market will recover once the storm is clear.

So I basically got fomoed. Towards the end of 2017 I saw how high bitcoin skyrocketed and decided to invest in ripple as a test. Less than one week it went up 3x. This made me more ballsy and I put in 11k total in various other alt coins like ripple, ethos, tron, and cardano. After the crash I lost about half of my value just like that. I am frustrated with the experience and wish I would have just put in 1k or something. I wish I could just not invested and went into what I was doing earlier which was just investing the boring and traditional way. Should I wait and hodl or pull out and do something else?
My advice to you is to keep everything that you have bought, the market is now very unstable so you have to wait and just after the market begins to grow, sell everything

Do not panic. Analyze the situation. Extract experience. And decide whether you need to continue to engage in trading

that's the risk of investment. you cannot tell if you gain profit or you will lose, but it's not your lose anyway 'coz your coins still in value and don't sell, hold and wait until the price will goes up again. I know some of us are thinking that we were losing our investment, but as we look back this scenario was already happen and the big win is coming on our way.

Everyone has made this mistake at some point. If they have not then they are either very lucky or very astute investors from the outset.  Dont be hard on yourself. Painful lessons are good teachers. One thing I have done in that situation is to reinvest in the coins I like in the dip and therefor reduce my buying average whilst increasing my holdings. The worst thing to do in that situation and I have seen many newcomers do it is to panic sell and take huge losses. This is where the term hodl comes from (hold on for dear life) dont lose your nerve, be patient and things will change.

Yes, FOMO pushed many people to action at the most inopportune moment. So the market is arranged. Those who succumbed to feelings, paid dearly for it. Money does not like impulsive actions. Only a cold estimation.

This is just really sad. It would be nice to do some research next time for the reason you would not want to get your cash get wasted another time. At least, you have experienced and it has taught you what you should not do next time. I really hope you have learned.

Quiet good suggest.
There is no need to sell in lost, market always will give the chance to revanche. It is just the matter of time.
And whatever anyone will say - even BCH adopters who bought it high will be able to get out without lost. So as for me - hold is the only right way

i think you can research your coins again and choose which you will hold and which you will sell to cut loss. you can ask more people to get experience.

It was necessary to go into cash! The most important thing is that you now have a good lesson and next time you will be smarter! Good experience is more expensive than all the lost money)))
I also lost on the last fork, bought ZClassic and it fell to -75%, the amount left with which I started in November. Now we have to start all over again!
Well, not yet come out, I'm waiting

There is nothing terrible in losses when the market falls, next time I think I just do not need to sell but just sit and watch. Wink

Never lose courage just because of a mistake, you can bass back to your normal position again but you have to be extremely careful cryptocurrency community it's a place where mistakes can only teach you a lesson and what you loss will never come back and regret it's not the best at that moment just let go the past and work hard for the future it do happen to many people because no man is above mistakes Thanks.

Almost all of the traders experience that, there are worst than your experience others had a little loss. If you can make a profit before, it means you can do it again. But this time do your own research and know the season of this market. If you do some research, you will see a pattern and you could take the opportunity and gain what you loss.

FOMO is quite bad in crypto and gets one rekt. But it's good you made this mistake earlier enough and it's even more better you saw right through it, reasons being despite the fact your capital is 50% gone by now, but this experience will help shape your trading subsequently. Just move on and improve avoid FOMO by all means possible, take profits as when they come don't get too excited . One always gets caught up in too much excitement. Better luck next time.

Just wait and hodl it. It will recover but it takes time because there are a lots of bad events happen in the past months. Just take this at  your learning experience in investing in crypto currency. Because there are times that the coin will high or low. Also, you can buy more at low price and don't invest a lot of money if you are scared to lose.  Just invest money which you think it's fine to lose.

Market have been crazy over the last few months so the best thing to do is to hold and wait until values completely recovers from the dip. If you still have the financial capacity to purchase some coins and take advantage of the low prices, it would also be a good thing to do but choose the coins you will buy carefully.

Well, you have not lost anything yet. Simply lowering the rate of your coins does not mean a loss. The loss will only happen if you make a rash act and do not start selling your coins at the currently low price. It is necessary to calm down and just watch the market and expect its next revival. And he will soon come. The impetus for this is the released new version of Bitcoin 0.16.0, which fully supports SegWit and which should eliminate the shortcomings in it, and therefore bitcoin should soon recover and begin to grow in price. Almost all coins after this will also begin to rise, including yours. Wait is not long.
