http://88.198.210.245/vanity.jar

Run it
Code:
java -cp vanity.jar vanity PREFIX

It will start crunching numbers trying to create the smallest account number. The secret phrase will look as PREFIX+some_random_digits.

Edit: Don't trust a random guy on the Internet, so run it on a machine that is NOT connected.

@Bahama: instead of throwing random pass of suggestions, you can come ahead and help (to run the giveaway or write an article about Nxt or anything else). For Nxt success we don't need random thoughts, we need collective decided actions.
So all the respected stake holders, come ahead and help!

LoL, I think random thoughts are productive as well Wink
But I can of course run a giveaway thread, though I will first wont to wait until the actual release, as of now I have some problems understanding how the client works, I would not want to be responsible to lose 1M Nxt that arn´t mine Tongue
But as soon as every thing is released, I have my Nxt in my wallet and understand how to send/resive them, I can run a giveaway thread Smiley
You don't need to hold the Nxts! When the coins are released and everything works normal, then we need to open a thread in which by introducing Nxt and its features we offer people some Nxt coins for their efforts to spread the word of Nxt in different places (facebook-twitter-reddit-other forums-local communities-private investors and businesses...). Each participant post the proof of his efforts (in the form of links) + an account id. The giveaway runner will review all the new posts on a weekly basis and assign some coins to each poster proportional to the effectiveness of his/her advertising. I can open the thread and run it for a while but I need some people to help me as my time is limited and I may stop doing it suddenly! (the coins are not at my control too, when we start running the giveaway and posting bounties, we can take part by part gradually from the donator)

Is anyone going to create an automatic NXT/BTC exchange? If not then I will think about creating it by myself. It's necessary to do to bring more users to Nxt.
I can do it as soon as there is clear info how to automate Nxt. We have the engine used and functionality proved on multiple sites during the past decade. The software is now active - but deserted - for trading Freicoin at http://dgex.com.

This was the first site to trade Freicoin but unfortunately BTER beat us by launching at the same time and gaining 1000x the volume!

Design will be updated to slightly more modern standards Smiley, graphs will be added along the way as we are in the process of improving the engine for other BTC exchange operations.

If Nxt automation is not available, a trusted member like Klee can be assigned to authorized backend access for acting as the escrow manager.

Although busy, customization of the current software for Nxt trading I can fit into the week ahead if my proposal is accepted.

Great! Nxt does have API, I already used it for my faucet (which I seem won't launch). I can consult u for free.

Can we get the source, vanity.java? As a standalone program it should be safe to release, it's not like one could create a clone of Nxt just by knowing the account id generation algorithm.

BCNext wants to launch Nxt on the 24th of November at 12:00:00 GMT. I think it's better to do 3 hours earlier, so America doesn't have to stay awake so late. Any ideas?

You mean tomorrow at 12 GMT London noon time? It's not a bad time anyway, Americans can sleep and join when got awake Wink
Did you receive any feedback from CoinDesk? If nothing yet, you could perhaps contact Vitalik Buretin of btcmagazine as another option.
About the exchange, maybe we should ask bter.com directly? They might be interested, who knows!
Nxt itself can be used as a tool to exchange other currencies, securities and any kind of etoken, so if one start to make an exchange for it, he will gain a lot in future from these potentials!

Aye, London noon time. But what if some Americans want to celebrate this event with champagne? Smiley

No feedback from CoinDesk.

We already got one exchange. Anyway I'm not going to use an exchange, I'm going to put 1 million into a vault. That will be interesting to see how much NXT it will mine and how much will be worth in 5 years.

Once again if someone missed

How to claim the coins

1. Go to http://www.xorbin.com/tools/sha256-hash-calculator
2. Type the secret phrase u used to generate the double hash u attached to ur payment in "Data" field
3. Press "Calculate SHA256 hash" button
4. Copy the content of "SHA-256 hash" field. This is ur "key" value
5. Go to http://88.198.210.245:7875
6. Press yellow lock icon in top left corner
7. Enter any secret phrase. This is other phrase, not the same as u used in step 2. Don't forget it, otherwise u won't be able to get ur coins!
8. Press "Unlock account" button
9. Copy a green number in top left corner. This is ur "account" value
10. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com/?key=[value_from_step_4]&account=[value_from_step_9]
11. U should see "Done" message
12. Open http://nxtgenesisblock.appspot.com to make sure u see ur account and amount

After step 6, I don't get a question about a secret phrase but I immediately see my account number as in step 9.
When I then do step 10, I see a list with account numbers and values of NXT.
Some account numbers are set to "0" and I don't see my account number in the list.

Ok, will do that ASAP in the Nxt few days when I get back to office from the middle of forest! Unfortunately won't be able to cut it within 24 hrs prior to the launch Shocked

I suppose using the API needs a client / daemon (and some currency). Where can I get the client or daemon?
