Here's the escrow request form
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/155_YLb95dY5W9-SAL8OKBim6t0xuvBmz0hWJC1gLp3U/viewform

Need consensus on who to manage data from the escrow request. Because data collected through form should be private, suggest only trusted escrow agents have access to it.

Here's the Nxt order book. I've listed price in thousands (K) of XNT in XBT
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Alf2rui4QGsjdC00aVBXVGtmMTFUQmZGQ3EtUFBidGc&usp=drive_web#gid=0

Terminology for this currency pair

Currency Name: Nxt
Currency symbol: XNT

trading against

Currency Name: Bitcoins
Currency symbol: XBT (propossed ISO currency symbol for Bitcoins)

I suggest we start using XBT instead of BTC

Escrow form in the works. Will post a little later. Meanwhile, community should decide who to include in managing order book ans who to include in escrow list.

Well, now we r supposed to use Nxt for a week, reporting all found serious bugs...

Pay attention to Time difference between nodes. If it's outside of +/-15 sec frame, then we could see unsynchronization of the network.

One important note: If ur node is visible on the Internet then launch client by
Code:
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt IP_ADDRESS
Right now only 1 bootstrapping node runs the newest version. If it goes down the network will be fragmented.

25 unclaimed accounts left. We can stuck for a long time. Any ideas what to do?
Can you post a list of them, I'm not 100% sure if my account is ok.

It's one of those with a strange adress, f.e.
8f3b17cb030529bda48ead3d9337443df28c0e01c133ca3d380286698bb40ae7

There is one in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.msg3694312#msg3694312. Genesis block is generated. PM me with ur account id and a text such as SHA256(text) == 8f3b17cb030529bda48ead3d9337443df28c0e01c133ca3d380286698bb40ae7. I'll send this to BCNext and he will send ur coins to ur account soon after the launch. The launch is in 2 hours.

That's not an acceptable way for me.

I'm not going to PM anyone besides maby the dev. directly such information. I don't know how this coin works or if you are even trustworthy. The best I can do is publicly post here the following:

Account "XXX" = XXX XNT
was sent by the adress BTC XXX and a link to blcokexplorer. With that I can sign a message that states that I'm the owner of these coin and on what adress I want them to be sent to. For that I would need to know how to generate adresses or set up a VM to run the client.

That's pretty much work for a investment <100$ and surely wasn't as like:

So, if you want to get coins do the following:
1.  Choose a secret phrase
2.  Calculate SHA256 hash of this phrase (an online calculator can be used)
3.  Calculate SHA256 hash of the hash you got on the previous step
4.  Send any amount to 1BCN1ugdKdWd9pQ8Am9hMhtHZfmbXzxE8a, don’t forget to attach a message with the hash you got on the 3rd step. (The amount is capped at 1 BTC!)

That’s it.  When Nxt is launched you will get part of new coins and your stake will be proportional to the amount you sent.
Do you really expect everyone to follow each and every altcoin they are invested in?!

For every other method I will have to spend time even more time to research how this coin works and if you are even trusted by BCNext to act in this way. That's nothing personal against you, but the internet isn't a place you can trust people with money.

Agree. U can use the same address u used to send bitcoins. Send 0.0001 BTC to 1BCN1ugdKdWd9pQ8Am9hMhtHZfmbXzxE8a and attach ur Nxt account id. This will be publicly visible and will prove u r the legit owner.

If I don't have a static IP, would it work if I set up dynamic DNS and use hostname instead of IP_ADDRESS? What ports should be opened if behind a router/firewall, is 7874 enough?

Privacy questions: Can an attacker monitoring your traffic (i.e. your ISP) learn your account number, if you just log in (at localhost:7875), without sending transactions? Is your IP being recorded in the blockchain when performing transactions, thus exposing your account number? If so, could one connect using tor / socks proxy, like for example the bitcoin-qt client allows?

Nxt client can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkqhhdi72cx74t3/Nxt.zip. Delete all *.nxt files before running it!

The sources will be published later (not earlier 3rd of Jan). SHA256 of the source file is 5ae6536fd44201bb9a3fa1172b3b683807241d7d1d9ecee0a957f340d58ed2bc. This is signed by Genesis block generator: http://88.198.210.245:7876/?request=decodeToken&website=0.2.1-5ae6536fd44201bb9a3fa1172b3b683807241d7d1d9ecee0a957f340d58ed2bc&token=qcguom8ifi6oic0qr609uo6hsds4f2r68g898vmpq920p7tj000006v57ajrpn00iopcb1gj6bfbamvj0cjtia7igg6ktvo32n6ajeisbj8ggtg958r0bpud0d96tgr2te9fr34b2iqj3hgdd444acke5ebga4lr

U can launch the client, but official launch is at 12:00 GMT, so blocks won't be generated.

Check ur balance plz.

Do not use someone's client or u can lose all ur coins!

Edit: Updated post to replace 0.2.0 version with 0.2.1.

How do you run this client?
thanks

DNS name should work as long as it's resolved to ur IP. 7874 for peers, 7875 for client and 7876 for API reqeusts.

Noone can see ur account id if u use localhost to unlock the account. Dunno if blockchain saves ur IP though. But, if u send a transaction then connected peers can see who is the sender and they already know ur IP. Tor should work for Nxt.

Ok I had to update from Snow to Mavericks in order to use the new JRE.
I followed the steps and in http://localhost:7875/ I see now my coins too.

I get the following in my terminal:

Probably it's normal but want to be sure.

How do we know this??
Local clients are bootstrap nodes too as far as I understand right?

Not specified accounts replaced with corresponding hashes that will be used to claim coins later. "10105875265190846103" is the account that holds funds with incorrect or missing hashes.
My account and its balance looks alright here as well.
Come-from-Beyond, two questions: is http://localhost:7875 also residing on your server (and its information available to be seen on your side)?
I tried to connect to http://localhost:7874 to connect through peers but it didn't load anything. When it will be active?
Quoting + all ok on my side..

How do you run this client?

I installed Java Runtime Environment.
Then went to a directory with Nxt.zip and typed

Code:
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt
thank you.
I did this. it says that client is started.
Is there any GUI to this client?

thanks

NullPointerException is a serious bug! But I believe it won't lead to lost coins. Still this should be fixed.

Bootstrapping nodes r nodes with fixed IP/DNS which hardcoded into the server soft.

This is not a serious bug. BCNext doesn't care about correct shutdown sequence as I see.

Is there a way to mine it when it's launched?

Oh! The most important part is missing!

How to mine blocks

1. Unlock ur account
2. Don't lock it, just close a webpage

If u lock the account then server will forget about ur private key and won't be able to generate blocks.

I see three peers, yay!
But why are two peers blacklisted?
