I was watching The Prestige and skimming thru the recent posts when I found an interesting thread and interesting replies:

And an idea has crossed my mind.

Focus. We used to think that most of altcoins r created to make their creators rich. Nxt is not an exception, but it does it in unusual way.

A few points to think about:
1. Where all these drug dealers from Silk Road went to?
2. Is it possible for one man to develop a cryptocurrency in a few weeks (not to fork Bitcoin code)? 1 month ago we haven't ever heard of Nxt.
3. Is there anyone crazy brave enough to run a Silk Road clone?

And now let's look at Nxt:
1. Decentralized, u can't shut down it.
2. Invulnerable to ASICs/supercomputers coz it's not a PoW currency.
3. All features necessary to run a nxt Silk Road r being developed in 1st place.

We suspect Satoshi is a group of people. What about BCNext? He may be a group of programmers who r paid for creating a platform where drug dealers will trade their goods. Or just a man who wants to make the world better.

PS: Just IMHO inspired by the movie  Wink

1. Who knows, but now they have tasted what CAN be done, I'm sure that they will all jump on the next thing that comes along as an enabler
2. Yes it is, there are plenty of open source code bases available to start from.  If your goal is a BTC "clone" with minimal changes, then you could start with one of these and makes the mods you need.  One or two guys could get a prototype together in a month or 2.
3. Yes to this too, the biggest mistake DPR made was to be greedy, greed will always be the downfall of man, he should of made a couple million and bailed out before the heat.

BTW: The Prestige is an awesome movie! Smiley

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

To Black Market Reloaded http://bmreloaded.com/, Sheep Marketplace, and, maybe, to a ton of similar hidden markets.

I also could be an FBI agent or a group of agents who are developing Nxt to create a honeypot.  Why does anyone care if Nxt is an open-source project and can be used in a lot of ways?  You should create a separate thread for such speculations.

Back on topic.

I replaced Ed25519 with Curve25519.  Now the same public key can be used for signing, encryption and key agreement.  This unifies code base simplifying Nxt deployment to micro-devices.

I have made a transaction from the transfer address to 19WXPgygiZk2YsrTU9U1nQfLd7oepTuCLc.  All transactions will be counted with 300% multiplier.  Now the multiplier scales down from 300% to 100% depending on the block height a transaction included into.  The block with 100% will be marked by the second spending transaction.  All transactions from that point will have 100% multiplier.

Check https://blockchain.info/address/19WXPgygiZk2YsrTU9U1nQfLd7oepTuCLc to make sure I do not move the coins until the genesis block is approved.

P.S.  My Twitter account is suspended.  Do not follow me on Twitter @BCNext.  Could anyone tweet about the beta test with the hashtag #nxt, please?

Yes.  We continue to collect user base.  But now the multiplier is lowered each Bitcoin block.

I have an idea to code colored coins with R, G, and B components, a coin with FF00FF code would look as purple in the client.  It is a good idea?

While we are collecting bug reports I am working on colored coins.  Next week we will see a prototype.

Time to choose the name for Nxt has come, because "Nxt" is a code name.  Post here your suggestions and then I will create a poll.  Nxt will be added to the list so we still may choose it as the name.

You shouldn't unpack the zip file.  Download Java Runtime Environment (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html) and type "java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt".

Ok, so I made a .bat file with folowing comand: " C:\Users\Pascal\Desktop
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt"

Now it dose open something in the cmd...now it shows my a bit of output in the cmd (inkluding somthing with a genisses block) but always has a  ..."<unknowen Source>" behind it
Is that how it should be, shouldn´t it start somthing with a GUI?

P.s. I alrady have java runtime installed
