Mastercoin was funded with 1,000,000$ .. I don't see other alts compete with the brains that got involved with mastercoin project.
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Is there something new about it? Or is it just like the I phone 4 vs the I phone 5? (It's longer and thinner, even though Steve Jobbs said that the Iphone should never ever get longer. So not really the "next generation" of I phone. Smiley Jw

Next week we will test a prototype of a decentralized stock exchange built on top of Nxt.  The very first decentralized exchange as far as I know.

Then we will test the very first decentralized app store.  Then decentralized voting system.  You can extend this list, just add "decentralized" and "built on top of Nxt" to any thing that comes to your mind.

Future is already here.

what kind of stocks?... we need to chat!  Cool i'm a seasoned promoter

I don't think the amount of funding you raise has a direct correlation to how good your project is, neither does large funding ensure that you get the best minds.

I've invested a large amount of my own funds into eMunie, and a year of my life, full time+, I'm a seasoned financial systems builder, and worked in many cutting edge technologies you use everyday, but even that doesn't guarantee eMunie any success, so your reasoning is a bit mute I'm afraid...

Mastercoin is build on top of No1 Bitcoin - the first mover of the first mover!

Though I wanna see yours and Nxt succeed too, the more the better..

That is awesome. You should maybe attempt to team-up with the devcoin community, as they are geared towards development and coding. As well as things such as 3D printing and production of space ships.
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty

I had a bad experience cooperating with some ###coin developers.  A lot of time was spent on talking, the outcome did not satisfied me.  That is why now I am working alone.  The things are implemented much faster this way.

I hope to remedie this soon. I have a plan for the future of altcoins.

I will keep reading this thread though, as I am interested in the developments mentioned.

My time is a very valuable resource.  Do you want me to spend it on taint analysis and then just send the coins back to a guy who violated the agreement?  I do not like this idea.  Though I can not just keep this coins without giving NXT, the taint analysis is not 100% reliable.  I will decide when all other issues are resolved.

Given that scenario, your response makes the assumption that the investor explicitly understood there was a hard cap of 1 btc.
Here is where the cap was put in effect. Part of my post (#194 of the same thread):
Quote
May I ask BCNext and also Cunicula about how relevant or necessary it is to put a cap for sending bitcoin to 1BCN address?
Although one can still send 1BTC 100 times instead of 100 BTC once, but the hassles and complications of sending 100 times makes the first option less probable and harder keeping the track of, for the sender.
Our main concern is about a normal distribution of the genesis block coins to more users, we don't want to have some people owning 100M coins each at the launch point, because it will either kill the coin life cycle and bring a lot of security concerns as it is a pure POS coin, or will make it very unattractive for future users (remember ripple)
BCNext replied me there in post #197 and put the 1BTC cap. Some people may try to bypass the cap by sending several times, but with the same reason as to why a 51% attack would be more expensive for the attacker (bitcoin wiki), any attempt to manipulate the distribution by bypassing the cap will result in a less effective and unpopular coin model, that makes it more prone to fail, and therefore more financial lose for the ones who bypassed the cap consequently.
Still BCNext can make some taint analysis later when he got free of coding. The way he doesn't determine the penalty now is good and clever. People who break the cap rule shouldn't have an exact estimation of what may happen to their exceeding the cap investment. They might be confiscated, or return back to them or whatever... so make your mind before bypassing! Wink

I suppose someone could send coins before we added the cap and then never read the OP again.  They could send coins again exceeding the cap, that would be a very bad idea to "confiscate" these coins.

I let the community to do the analysis and make decision.

Nxt is good.

It's innovative and don't have the word COIN in it, that's good for me.

Any other names for Nxt?

I've been pondering this for a long time but just can't come up with something better.
The only problem I see with Nxt is that almost all domain names are already taken. nxt.pe is available for $50 per year.

Why do we need a domain?  Bitcointalk.org is enough.

Waiting for your feedback on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322935.0

These banknotes will be used mainly to advertise Nxt to ordinary people.

Nxt is a pretty good name. Could go for something really memorable though

YODAHMA
ZOOZIMI
KAPOWER
EEOWEE
ZENOLUTION
GIGANTILUS
BOOOB
IMPRESSANORMOUS

You're naming something really cool, right? Why not put yourself out there - Go for it!

I'd love to get paid in YODAHMA
